Myself and a group of 7 stayed at this property on Julia st for NYE and absolutely loved it! Sandra and Heather were very accommodating and easy to reach when needed. The condo is kind of hard to find (it doesn't just stick out) but thats what makes it even more amazing. The master bath was absolutely gorgeous as was the master bedroom. One thing to note is that there are no doors to the rooms, but it didn't affect any of us very much. About a 10-15 min walk to Canal st and $10 uber drive to Bourbon. Plenty of nearby parking and restaurants as well. There was more than enough towels and storage space to place our bags. Absolutely loved this place and would totally recommend it to anyone staying in NOLA. Thank you so much for allowing us to there!
I stayed here with a group of 8 and thoroughly enjoyed the property. The home is located within the Arts District which is a great area and allowed us to explore an area outside of the French Quarter. Multiple restaurants and bars are within walking distance (personal favorite was Carmo). You can also easily walk to the French Quarter from the house or take the streetcar. We walked to the French Quarter and Convention Center area multiple times and didn't have to depend on the streetcar or a car.
The house was very spacious and it didn't feel crowded given our large group. Large living space and ample places to sleep (beds, pull out sofas, and a couch). House comes equipped with free wifi, tv with cable, and all the dishes and linens one would need. I loved the master bathroom and the outside space.
I would definitely recommend staying here during your New Orleans stay.
Great rental for a large group.
Stayed here with a large group while in New Orleans for a conference. The condo was truly terrific.
Location: About 5-10 minutes from Canal St. and the French Quarter. Very easy to get where you want to go! Even better, there are multiple restaurants and bars within a block or two, as well as a large grocery store.
Beds: There is one queen bed downstairs in a master bedroom and three in an upstairs loft (2 twin and 1 full). There is also a full sized couch in the TV room as well as a love seat.
Kitchen: There is a large mini fridge and a large freezer. Plenty of glassware, plates, and pans. We were here for about a week, and it was no problem cooking a few meals. There is also a gas grill outside in a beautiful courtyard that we did not end up having a chance to try.
Bathrooms: 1 small bathroom off the kitchen and one large bathroom near the master bedroom. The large bathroom has frosted glass and a swinging door (no lock). Both have showers, in the large bathroom is a very large, luxurious shower with a rainfall shower head.
Rest of the condo: Plenty of space, large dining room table, several TVs. Wifi was present, but fairly slow. The doors have code locks, so no key required, which was very convenient, especially with a large group. Spiral staircase to loft is a little tricky to navigate. Loft also heats up during the daytime, but multiple fans and AC kept this from being an issue.
Owners: Very responsive and helpful. There was a small mix-up with the cleaning staff when we arrived, but this was immediately cleared up. Very accommodating regarding checking in early/late.
Great Condo & Location!!
We stayed in the 2 bedroom condo & LOVED it! The condo is in the Arts/Warehouse district, which is nice & only about 6 blocks from the French Quarter. We had such a blast & walked EVERYWHERE, even though there was a streetcar stop at the corner of our street. The amazing WWII Museum is also just around the corner about 3 blocks away. We had so much fun with all of the hustle & bustle, but was nice to get back to a quiet, relaxing condo. The condo was so comfy & spacious, and provided us with everything that we needed during our stay. The owners were so easy to deal with, and answered all of our questions prior to our visit. Did I mention that the doors have code locks, so there are no keys to try & keep up with either. Would definitely recommend to friends!
Family Visit to New Orleans
We booked three nights in the 2BR/2BR unit for my husband, myself, and our 2 young adult kids. Although the unit was very true to the posted photos, having experienced VRBO rentals in London, Paris, Maui, and British Columbia, we were disappointed to discover several deficiencies.
The location was lovely, close to many attractions and restaurants. The unit is charmingly decorated, although hauling suitcases up the spiral staircase was challenging. We did not have a vehicle, so cannot comment on parking facilities. Beds were immaculate, and there were plenty of bath towels. None of the bedrooms had doors, however, so personal privacy was limited, and as the loft bedroom opens to the kitchen/eating area, sleeping late was not an option!
We experienced an overnight thunderstorm, and woke up during the night to find water dripping from the master bedroom ceiling. Given the visible water damage to the ceiling and wood floor, we suspect this to be an established problem. We placed towels on the floor to deal with the water, and were glad we had not placed any personal items in that particular corner of the room!
Having internet access was very important to us, and was a critical factor when considering our accommodation choice. We did not have internet access for two of our three nights, and only succeeded in obtaining internet access when my husband decided to speak with a neighbouring business, trouble-shooting himself, and managing to solve the problem. This was after calling the contact/owner - without resolution.
The kitchen, while reasonably provisioned, did not have enough coffee mugs, making mornings interesting. There were no wine glasses, and the pots and pans available had seen better days. Their non-stick coatings were extremely damaged. Washing dishes was tricky, as there was no sink plug, dish drainer rack, or tea towels. Neither was there any dishwasher soap.
The doorknob on the second bathroom was broken, making opening a closed door tricky. After struggling to get out of the bathroom, our kids learned that they could not fully close the bathroom door - unless they were willing to struggle to get the door opened.
Some local information would have been appreciated. In the past, owners have provided restaurant suggestions, favourite destinations/activity ideas, and other "insider" knowledge. this would have been appreciated.
