It was named for my father who was a ships captain and sailed the world for 30 years but always insisted Siesta Keys beaches were most beautiful. Tastefully decorated with vaulted ceilings, oak railings and Indo-Spanish charm. Perfectly appointed with high thread-count 100% cotton sheets and W-Hotel pillow top mattresses. Casa Van Lopik is the perfect blend of Island ease and comforting luxury. Leave the car behind. After the beach, you could wander to town for fresh oysters and seafood, drinks, live music or ice cream. This house is a great location for stunning sunsets. The kitchen is fully equipped and has an open floor plan from dining area to balcony, all with westerly exposure. The back garden has space for casual dining and is also westerly facing. You can get fresh fish at the Village Market one block away or catch your own right in front of the house.

*Events or gatherings involving outside vendors or a headcount in excess of the combined occupancy rate are allowed with prior owner approval. A Location Event Fee of $2000 applies. About Daniel Jones

Gertrude Rentals was named for the owner-operator’s (Daniel) grandmother. Gertrude Van-Lopik was an adventurous traveler well into her 90s who circumnavigating the globe more than two dozen times. Gertrude Rentals is a multi-generational, family business and includes a wife, a husband, a daughter, and a lifetime friend. With 48 beds we are also the largest owner operator of premier vacation rentals on Siesta Key and have more than 100 positive reviews “and growing” (we are very proud of them).

Daniel Jones is the head honcho of Siesta Key and the owner-operator of Gertrude Rentals, his third of four children. Dan was born in Sarasota and lived on Siesta Key for 25 years before leaving to work in New York City. In 2010 Dan came to his senses and abandoned a career in finance to spend more time with his friends and family and, ultimately, to pursue this labor of love. He is passionate about providing affordable beach-luxury during what he calls “sacred vacation time”. He loves surfing, interior design, and seafood. Dan's departure from Wall Street and return to the beaches of Siesta Key represents the hallmark spirit of Gertrude Rentals - no collars, no shoes, no problems!

Great location and very comfortable

Loved staying here- very close to the best beaches (access 5,6,7) and a short walk to downtown. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Great Location!

Easy access to beach, Siesta Village and tennis courts. Very comfortable bedrooms and living room. Washer and Dryer were great and got a workout! A few suggestions: sliding glass door to balcony does not open and close well and needs some adjustment. Chairs in garage were in disarray and trash items on the floor. Grill was dirty. Otherwise a nice beachhoue.

Very nice rental

We enjoyed Siesta Key immensely! This house had more than enough space to suite our needs. It was comfortable and quiet. It is a duplex, but we never heard our neighbors despite them having a large group! Our dogs enjoyed the back yard too! It was a short walk to the beach and the nightlife. The agent who helped us with our booking was very accommodating. I would highly recommend.

Great location but are things that need addressing

First, if you're expecting this to be a house you're renting...it is not. And with that said, the parking is very minimal, as it it shared with other units. The rental is pretty much exactly as pictured, but for the price, the threadbare towels and sheets need to be replaced. The carpet has definitely seen better days, but I get it....it's a rental. And a beach one at that. There was also no DVD player and the television is more complicated to work than it's worth. The sleeping quarters are ample and the surrounding business establishments are what make this location so great! The free taxi is such a huge bonus as well. I would have been completely satisfied had there been a little more attention to the little things, that would add just a touch of luxury without much effort, and made me feel as though the cost per night was worthy.

Very nice getaway rental!!!

We liked this house a lot. It was about a 5 minute walk to he beach one way and a 5 minute walk to restaurants and entertainment the other way. Great customer service as well. I would recommend!

Casa Van Lopik is AMAZING!

This was our first trip to Siesta Keyes with my family of 10! It was simply AMAZING. Casa Van Lopik was exactly as it was described and then when you walk in, your jaw drops to see it for real! Daniel and his crew are outstanding. This was the first time we had ever rented a home for vacation and it was absolutely seamless. My advice...just read and follow the directions! Everything is spelled out for you in the emails received and the handbook created! We could not have been more happy and more pleased with our experience. We will MOST DEFINITELY rent from Daniel and the team again. We are planning next summer as I type! Don't hesitate, book with Gertrude Rentals NOW!
