About Megan FitzGerald
My sister and I, along with our families, own this house, which we inherited from my father when he passed away last year. We are teachers and have spent at least some part of the summer every year at this family home on Lake Candlewood.
Megan FitzGerald purchased this House in 1935
Why Megan FitzGerald chose Danbury
This house was built by my grandfather and my father and uncle during the Great Depression. My grandfather had the foresight to buy land on Lake Candlewood as the lake was being created. (Candlewood is the largest man-made lake in Connecticut, with 92 miles of shoreline.) The property has been the heart and soul of our family since it was built. Countless family gatherings have taken place here with great love and laughter. We are renting it for a few weeks this summer to help pay for the every-increasing property taxes.
What makes this House unique
This house is situated on an acre of land with 200 feet of waterfront. It is a great place for families. We have a jungle gym in the yard, a gas grill, a large screened-in porch, and a lovely patio at the water. There is a dock with a slip available for boat owners to dock a boat.

Waterfront Lake house
This property was a dream vacation site! The house was clean and user friendly. A small terrace on the upper level with a grill and a small playground . Then ON the lake another terrace and ample deck and dock. Kayaks were at our disposal.
We plan on making this an annual event.
