About the Owner
About Rosemary Cate
We are in our late-30s, we love cooking/eating, going to the beach, running, biking, hiking, yoga, reading. Sean works in renewable energy and is the homeowner. Rosemary is an interior designer and the property manager.
Rosemary Cate purchased this studio in 2010
Why Rosemary Cate chose San Diego
Sean and Rosemary are eco-conscious. We installed 3 solar panel systems (one on the front house and one on the back house and one on the house in University Heights). There is a fast charging station with reserved parking for your electric car. We harvest rainwater and use it to water the grass and plants in the courtyard. The Eco Studio is the perfect combination of beautiful, comfortable yet also sustainable living.
What makes this studio unique
South Park is such a unique neighborhood. You will not find any cookie-cutter houses here, unless you consider the 100-year-old craftsman houses which are everywhere you look. It's a beautiful, vibrant, and friendly neighborhood. No big box chain stores/restaurants/shops. Everything has a mom & pop feel to it. But the chain stores are a short drive when you need them.

South Park Review
Enjoyed staying at this property. Unit has all the amenities one would need. Very clean. Courtyard is private, and has spa available to guests. Very quiet neighborhood. Close to downtown San Diego. Plenty of parking on the street. Management is available to answer your questions.
Unbeatable San Diego property, price, & location!
As far as the property itself – it is truly value for price as far as amenities. There’s a washer and dryer, wireless Internet, a full kitchen with gas stove, full size fridge, and all the cookware and dinnerware needed for preparing a complete breakfast, lunch or dinner. The property and yard are well kept and the property managers are responsive during the stay. Street parking is ample and convenient and the neighborhood safe. The location itself couldn’t be more convenient as a base for enjoying everything San Diego has to offer with easy access to all major freeways and being just minutes from downtown San Diego, Coronado, the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park.
Be sure to plan for time to spend in the Southpark neighborhood though. There are some great eateries from fine dining to brewpubs to an incredible diner. You’ll definitely want to pay a visit to the ice cream shop and also the place that specializes in chocolate confections, drinks and desserts. There’s an awesome local coffee spot that has poetry slams and live music and you can’t overlook a visit to The Grove – a local shop with the most well curated book selection I’ve ever seen and local crafts and products galore. And that’s just one shop of many – all of which are unique in their own right and with the friendliest owners and staff who make you feel at home.
After a day of sightseeing or sampling the many craft breweries nearby, it’s nice to come home to a comfortable and well-appointed home away from home. The colors and furnishings are bright and airy. The yard is peaceful and relaxing with seating areas to choose from and plants and flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. With San Diego’s great weather and all that this property has to offer, I’d say this is a year-round best bet. You won’t be disappointed.
Balboa Park unit has everything you need.
Last January, my wife and I rented this property. It was very clean, and had everything we needed, iincluding: kitchenette, restroom, walk in closet, bed, and living area. There was a large flat screen TV with many channels. The courtyard provide a quiet, secluded area to have our breakfast, while enjoying the California sunshine. Visiting local shops in the neighborhood added to our enjoyment. The owners provided excellent customer service, making our stay even more memorable.
Great property, awesome stay
What a great spot in a perfect location. Yard was serene and perfect for morning coffee with the dog. Sean was so helpful and really kind to the dog which is HUGE. Rosemary was very hospitable and took care of everything. House perfectly equipped and comfortable as well as close to trendy quant South Park. Can't wait to stay again.
