We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! Several day trips to area points of interest and fabulous meals at some awesome restaurants were a highlight and the firepit was perfect for several hours of friendly conversation and s'mores!!
Easy, relaxing weekend
The home was very clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. The linens provided are of good quality. The rental process was simple and Matt was easy to work with. The Amish market up the street was wonderful, as were the sandwiches we got there for lunch!
Third stay and just as spectacular
For our third stay in this home, Matt, was again attentive, communicative and just really nice. We are very comfortable there, just like our own home. We are near everything we need- lots of outdoor fun. We hiked, canoes and fished at Clator Lake, and went to the West Virginia State Fair. Every visit, is just awesome. This is just such a beautiful spot with so much to do including just relaxing on that amazing screened in porch.
Beautiful house with every comfort of home. Located very close to the Falls and great hiking, biking and fishing.- which we did. The owner was terrific and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Terrific Amish market not too far away with wonderful sandwiches and everything else you need. Look forward to our next stay here.
Quite and Peaceful
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious and looks very nice. We would definitely rent again.
Perfect location for day hikers.
This property was clean and comfortable. It has all of the amenities you will need for your stay. The washer and dryer came in handy after hiking the muddy local trails. The screened in porch was a great place to hang out in the evening. The Flat Top trail is marked well and allows for some great day hiking.
If you are looking for a quiet property, this would not be your best choice. I did stay over Memorial Day Weekend, so there may have been more traffic than normal. However, there was a constant flow of diesel trucks up and down the road to go to the falls and the camp ground. The traffic did not bother me, and I had a very comfortable stay here.
The property consists of approx. 2.5 acres adjoining the Jefferson National Forest in the rear and Dismal Creek (a Virginia fisheries stocked trout stream) in the front. We offer approx. an acre of cross fenced corral for your horses. Bland County boats of its excellent hunting, fishing, bird watching and also many scenic areas to enjoy horseback riding, biking, motorcycling and hiking for all levels of difficulty. Bland County contains 54 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Big Bend Trail and Bland County's own Signature Bike Trail (the Tour De Bland). There also is the Wolf Creek Indian Village & Museum in Bland.
