Great home away from home

  • 4 of 5

Such a wonderful place to stay close to San Diego and Carlsbad. We stayed for a week with our two young kids and it was wonderful to have a home to relax in! The house is nice and well equipped. All the kitchen utensils, pots, pans, towels, hangers, etc that we needed for a whole week were all provided. As a bonus there was a wagon and stroller provided which was wonderful for us. My kids loves the boogie boards and sand toys as well. Loved the ammenties.

The owner was good to work with and had clear instructions for accessing the house, parking and garage.

Oceanside is a great little city with fun shops and some good restaurants. Most were within walking distance or a short drive from the house.

Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed our time in Oceanside!

Affordable, comfortable and great lication

  • 4 of 5

The house was as described, comfortable and affordable and great location to beach. The condo could use some upgrades, i.e., the carpeting and bedding could all be replaced. The kitchen and bathrooms were nice and very clean. It is near the train tracks but the noise was not a problem. I barely noticed the trains st all. I would recommend to those looking a nice affordable condo near the beach.

Owner's Response: Thx for the positive review. We like to provide our guests with a comfortable yet affordable place to stay while visiting the Oceanside area. There's not a lot that we can do about the train noise but it only occurs a few times per day & doesn't seem to bother most people. FYI, we replaced the bedding & linens in all of our bedrooms this past weekend and have arranged for the carpets to be cleaned within the next two weeks. Take care & best wishes.

Spacious, and comfortable home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our two children along with their Grandparents stayed in this wonderful 2 bedroom home. It was very relaxing with lots of room for everyone to find their own space. Neighbors were friendly and helpful and the beach is really close and so beautiful - even in December! The Peir is close by and has a Ruby's restaurant at the end with great family dining and really good milkshakes. We had a rental vehicle and travelled to Disneyland, Legoland and San Diego all within an hours drive and really easy to get to. Oceanside is a fun little city and we really enjoyed our time there. Be aware of parking signs for street sweeping as the parking fines are really high but otherwise it was a great place and a great stay and we couldn't have asked for anything more!

This was a wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This property was overall a great property and we really enjoyed our stay. The positive things were

1 Great location near the beach

2 Plenty of space

3 The unit was well stocked

4 The owner was responsive and helpfull

5 Great value for money

Everyone is different so the following are the points I feel were not as positive. I still rate this unit 5 star because in my opinion they didn't really detract from the quality of my stay but they might matter to some people.

1 The unit is near a train line and the train does run all night.

2 The unit was a bit dated; however clean and well maintained and it was consistent for what I would expect for the price.

Overall I loved it and I would stay again.

Owner's Response: Thx Becky for the kind words. It is very much appreciated. We really want to provide our guests with a nice comfortable place to stay at a very reasonable price. FYI, we will be renovating our kitchen & bedrooms within the next month or so and will post new pictures once the renovation is complete. We also wish there was something we could do about the train noise but it's something that we have to deal with if you want to be near the beach in North San Diego County. The nice thing is that most people aren't bothered by it or typically get used to it after a little while. On the positive side, it is a very convenient way for our guests to get to downtown San Diego, Sea World, etc..

San Diego Trip Sept 2016

  • 2 of 5

Overall we have had an OK experience. The condo needs some TLC. For example, the kitchen sink was painted but the paint is chipping away. The kitchen c-tops are old and worn out. The tub upstairs is from 60's or 70's era. Carpets upstairs are older and so is the furniture in upstairs bedrooms. The whole place can use a new coat of paint especially baseboards downstairs. Still, all 100% functional but overall look and feel of the place is old. I know other reviews were all excellent and maybe we expected too much. The owner is great and very responsive and we had no complaints. Like I said everything is working and functional. The only other reason we gave this place 2 stars is the train noise especially at night and early morning. We had a bedroom facing the train tracks and we were not able to open balcony doors at night. So it did get pretty stuffy at night. So expect that during warmer weather this might be an issue since there is no AC either. The lack of washer and dryer was also a bit of an issue. We stayed there for 9 days and we thought we could deal with this but it did turn out to be an issue, There is a laundromat close by but no one wanted to spend half day sitting at the laundromat. Pros - Value, close to the beach, owners responsive, roomy Cons - No AC (which would not be an issue if you can open the windows), the train noise (3-4 times on Avg. at night), lack of laundry, cleanliness...

Nice clean well stocked condo, super close to the beach!

  • 4 of 5

The property was in a great location and the price for a family of 4 was great! It had a well stocked kitchen and the ocean toys were awesome at the beach!

I wish I would have known (probably my error) there was no AC because I think we came during a heat wave. But at night it cooled off nicely and we were out for most of the day anyhow.

All in all it was great and we appreciate the owner for renting to us. We would come again !
