Breath taking serenity and very cozy home!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay. The home is very comfortable and very relaxing. The beds are comfortable which is an absolute plus. We enjoyed our time on the deck with the Atlantic Ocean as our back drop and spent time relaxing in the hammock. Every morning we enjoyed watching the iguanas that would come out to sun themselves all over the property. For those of you who might be scared- don't be - they are more scared of us then we should be of them. Very fascinating reptiles. :) The house comes with a kayak and so we enjoyed going out on excursions regularly. We enjoyed some fishing too. The owner was extremely accommodating and friendly. We highly recommend a stay in this home.

What a wonderful, clean, exceptional place to stay in the Florida Keys! We cannot say enough about having Daniel and Barbara's home feel like our own oasis while visiting with my sister and brother in law for a long overdue reunion. The four of us had plenty of room in the home with two carports to park in underneath the house. We used the kayak many times and my sister and I even had a shark siting that will be our "fish story" for years to come. It was big and yes right next to us....so travel safely in that ocean and closer to the shoreline:).... We ventured out to many places in Key Largo and had a nice meal at Ballyhoos and visited the largest tiki bar at Gilbert's Resort. We even parasailed at Key Largo Parasailing which was another highlight for my husband and I. Our venture down to Key West was so relaxing and the sights were spectacular as we travelled in our rental....mustang convertible. ( Highly recommend a convertible.) Another favorite was Robbies in Islamorada and we also visited John Pannekamp park. As much as we enjoyed all of our outtings, I think the best part was coming back and enjoying the views and the serenity at the home. We just pulled out the lounge chairs and laid in the hammock taking it all in for total relaxation. What more can you ask for on a vacation in the Keys?!! By the end of the week we had made friends with our "pet" iguanas who were well fed and we were in the mood of feeling total relaxation and wanted to stay an additional week. Next time....note to self..... a longer stay!! Thank you again Daniel and Barbara and it was a pleasure meeting you both! Until the next time we meet again,

Nina

Owner's Response: Dear Nina, Thank you for choosing us. Having you stay in our home was a privilege, you leave our house as clean as it was at check-in and we really appreciate that very much. We are happy to know you enjoy that encounter with a shark at the Ocean while you navigate in the kayak, we are sure it was exciting. You are welcome to come back any time you want and we will give you special discount in your next time you stay with us. One more time thank you very much. kind regards, Daniel and Barbara

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

The owner was there to greet us when we arrived!!!! The location of the house was great. Off the beaten and path, but close enough to visit the areas we wanted in the Florida Keys and the Everglades. The house had all the amenities one could want. We enjoyed taking the Kayak out in the ocean. We saw lots of wildlife from the house and kayak. We saw a sand shark while out Kayaking. Cattle Egret, Osprey, night heron, and Ibis and lot more birds!!!! We had an iguana come everyday!!!

March 2016

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house for the week of March 19 during 2016. We wanted a quiet place with easy access to the rest of the Florida Keys and the Everglades. The house did not disappoint. For the very reasonable rent we had 2 bedrooms and baths as well as a place to cook that was very economical compared to the costs of constantly (over)eating out and 2 hotel rooms in the Keys at this time of year. We also had privacy and leisurely mornings. It was incredibly quiet, which we appreciated during a spring break week. And the wildlife was just so much fun. We had iguanas in the trees off the patio, ibises and night herons on the freshwater swimming pool across the canal and a ton of marine invertebrate life in the ocean beach (anemones, sea urchins, hermit crabs, spaghetti worms, a fireworm, gooseneck barnacles, a lobster and so on). A highlight was the day we walked out during low tide and were approached by a manta ray and by a pair of hammerhead sharks. Great stay-thanks Daniel.

Low key enjoyable stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time here. Home is well laid out with pretty much everything you would need for your stay. Very comfortable. Good Internet connection. Short drive to either Winn Dixie or Publix which was convenient as we grilled every day. Washer/dryer in unit which allowed us to be able pack lightly. This home is one of 4 or 5 on the block so it is very quiet which we appreciated...turn off the lights in the house and sit on the deck after dark and you will absolutely love the star gazing...wish I had a telescope...mosquitos can be a bit intense right at dawn and dusk so mosquito repellant is not a bad idea for those times but once darkness settles in, they are not a problem..enjoyed the sunrises on the deck with a cup of coffee...beautiful way to start the day and enjoyed sone afternoon siestas in the hammock on the deck. There is a tandem kayak available however it was a bit windy on the water outside the house so we didn't end up using it...Took a side trip to the Everglades using Garl's Coastal Kayaking...definitely recommend a half or full day trip..also kayaked at John Pennekamp State Park and took the glass bottom boat out to the reef . Kayaked with Florida Bay Outfitters as well...Both facilities are a quick drive from the house. Took a drive down to Key West as well....ate dinner mostly at home so didn't go to many of the local restaurants but can definitely recommend Mrs Mac's Kitchen for their Key Lime Pie, Hobo Cafe for the Lamb Burger and craft Beers on tap, Harriett's for breakfast...and if you get down to Key West, try Havana Cafe, awesome Cuban sandwich and delicious Cafe con Leche.

All in all a wonderful vacation and this home was a terrific location.
