Tastefully decorated with vaulted ceilings, multi-colored balusters and Indo-Spanish charm. Perfectly appointed with high thread-count 100% cotton sheets and W-Hotel pillow-top mattresses. Casa Van Lopik is the ideal blend of island ease and comforting luxury. Leave the car behind. After the beach, you could wander to town for fresh oysters and seafood, drinks, live music or ice cream. You can also get fresh fish at the Village Market one block away or catch your own right in front of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped and has an open floor plan from dining area to balcony. I never manage properties I don't own and each Gertrude Rentals property has been hand-selected, remodeled, and appointed with the comfort and enjoyment of my guests in mind.

Perfect location, beautiful property!

Four grown ups and five teen/young adult girls and one dog thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at Casa Van Lopik! When the beach was too windy and cool, the back patio and balcony were lovely places to hang out. The best part was that it is near enough to the village and the beach for older children to be very independent! House is very well equipped and comfortable as well. Hopefully will get the chance to stay again!

Great location

I would most likely have rated this property a 4 except for a few things. There was constant construction next door (even on Saturday) so there was no relaxing on the balcony without the sound of power tools, hammering and glass breaking. There was a stinky porta potty right next to our driveway and the workers were playing music that did not appeal to us. The crew blocked our car in the driveway and blocked the sidewalks as well. The guests in the attached apartment parked their bikes (about 8 of them) all up and down the walkway so we could not get in or out of our apartment without moving them. They blocked the gate to the backyard as well so it was a hassle getting back there to grill out. They were up all hours of the night and we could hear them banging and walking up and down the stairs. They kept us up until 4 am the night before our departure and we had a 14 hour drive the next day. So if you want peace and quiet you may want to check with the owner regarding construction in the area and who the guests will be next to you. I did text the owner and he contacted the construction company and they did move their vehicles but the noise never ceases until evening. I will say the property is in a great location and you can walk to the market, restaurants, shops and the beach in no time. The neighborhood was clean and neat. The house was clean and in pretty good shape. In all fairness, I know this stuff is out of the hands of the owner and most likely if you stay there and you have considerate guests in the attached unit and no construction you will enjoy your stay. My husband and I own vacation rental property too and this was the first vacation we have been on in many years and it would have been great except for the construction and rude guests in the attached unit. I would suggest to the owner to leave a note in each unit about being considerate of the other guests on the property... like "don't block the walkway" and "be quiet at night".

Owner's Response: I’m sorry this guest was disturbed by construction noise. My neighbor was doing mandatory repairs of a second floor balcony and some rotten siding. The job lasted around three days and the neighbors did have their units occupied during the construction so you can be sure they did what they could to keep the noise at a minimum. Understand this property is steps away from all the best of siesta key…the best shopping, best beaches and best dining and entertainment. And even though the property is delightful, you just don’t find yourself spending much of the daylight hours onsite☺ I was in contact with all the guests on the weekend in question and when the van blocked my drive I sent my workers out to have it moved, called the sheriff, the property owner and even the contractor. I spoke with this guest a half dozen times or more. Please read our other reviews we are very proud of them.

Casa Van Lopik is a beautiful place with all the amenities a group could want in a beachhouse!

We stayed at Casa Van Lopik for a week. The house was well-stocked with cooking equipment, games, and beach gear. We greatly enjoyed our stay! The house has some age on it - the sliding doors stuck some - but overall everything was clean, well-maintained, and charming. A very short one-block walk to the beach. And Daniel was right on the ball - very responsive to our needs and friendly. It was the perfect holiday getaway for a family of 8 (grandparents, kids, and grandkids!)

Great location! Owner very easy to work with!

This house was perfect for a friends weekend getaway! Close to the beach and Siesta Key village is just around the corner! Daniel sent emails with instructions on what we needed to do (which was basically come and have a good time and enjoy every moment). We would definitely return to this or another property of Daniels.

Great Location - a few small things would improve it

Location was incredible, very easy to access. Plenty of room for everyone, we had 7 plus a few extras hanging out for an afternoon. Is a little outdated but if I owned this property, I would not update it due to never knowing how abusive some can be. My only issue is that the kitchen was lacking severely. Plenty of silverware, knives, cooking spoons, coffee mugs and plates but only some very old cookware and 3 large glass bowls. The can opener was about $ 1.29 from the dollar store and we had to use the blender as a mixing pitcher. But other than that, would definitely stay here again.
