The *Perfect* Beach House in Folly Beach

  • 5 of 5

There are some things you really want in a beach house: comfortable, open spaces. Beautiful views. Privacy. Proximity to the beach. A well-equipped kitchen. Plenty of parking. A pleasant owner with good communication. This house has all of that and more.

The pictures on the listing set our expectations for a nice home, but once we walked in we were like "WOW." You immediately see the beach view and the large front porch with hammock and lots of comfortable chairs. Then you look out the back windows and see an incredible marsh view, which offers a different sunset every evening and lots of nature throughout the day.

As you walk around the house, open floor plan, high ceilings and tons of natural light make it feel very bright and airy. There are four separate and very private outdoor spaces & decks for those that need to get away for a little while, enjoy the sun, or take a nap.

The outdoor shower and hoses make it easy to wash the sand off, and speaking of sand, there is beach access RIGHT across the street! It's so convenient to walk just a few steps and park yourself in the sand. Forget something back at the house? Just walk back and get it. With a 5 year old and all our beach equipment, it was so nice to have the beach SO close. As an added bonus, this is a very quiet part of the beach and at times we felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves!

We cooked many meals in the kitchen, which was stocked with staple items and lots of pans/dishes. Plenty of counter space, good sized fridge, and ice maker that cranked out lots of ice. Lots of recycle bins and a huge trash can outdoors.

Finding a pet friendly home that is still a really nice place can be quite a challenge, but this home was the perfect resting spot for our 12 year old lab.

If you are thinking about renting this home, I would highly recommend it. Our family spent a fun week there and made lots of memories.

This is so much more than a "beach house." The whole family was very comfortable and had a wonderful stay. The home was as described, clean and well maintained. While we had no problems the checked to be sure everything was ok. We would higly recommend this home and Folly is always fun.

Beautiful, bright, airy and quiet beach house.

  • 5 of 5

A group of four spent New Years week of 2015 at this beautiful beach house. The house is well appointed with plenty of space for the 4 of us. The living areas are quite comfortable and we were able to cook great meals in the kitchen. There is ample deck/porch space a with gorgeous views of the backwater marsh and views of the ocean across the street. Beautiful sunlight fills the house in the morning. The house is on the north end of Folly Beach and is VERY quiet (not much traffic) and made for a relaxing winter stay. If we ever need to stay on Folly Beach again, we will come here. Thanks for a great stay!

Owner's Response: My house is a great getaway. I lived there for 15 years before I started renting it, therefore it's more like a home, rather than a sterile rental house.

A place to stay again!

  • 5 of 5

Coasting at 1566 exceeded our expectations! The house is beautifully decorated (the eclectic art collection on the walls deserves to be mentioned) and has a home feeling to it. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The house was spotlessly clean. The ocean and marsh views are just stunning. Viewing sunsets on the back porch was such a relaxing experience. The location is also perfect and everything is available within a short distance. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back.

Classic Folly Beach Experience!

  • 5 of 5

Our family members, friends and pets enjoyed many relaxing and exhilarating hours at Coasting at 1566. There are incredible views of both marsh and ocean from porches on main and upper floors. The sunsets across the marsh are amazing! The house is located adjacent to 'The Washout', a favorite site for local surfers, providing a great spot for visiting active surfers and armchair surfers. The house is roomy and comfortable - the kind of place that makes you want to kick off your shoes, boil up some crabs, pop a cold one and sit on the deck with friends and family...a classic Folly Beach experience!

Best place ever!!

  • 5 of 5

I've rented houses for years and this one is at the top of my list. Not only do you have front porch ocean views and back porch marsh views but you can get the same views from the upstairs spacious master bedroom and bathroom. I loved the comforts of home and location. The house was very neat and clean plus it would be ideal any time of year. I'm looking forward to going back this summer.
