Cabin, 1 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 4 Sleeps
Our cabin, Betty Jeans Joy, is nestled on the upper side of the Lantern Hill community. Relax and enjoy the evening view or a morning cup of coffee while sitting in the front porch swing. Come inside and enjoy a very cozy place by the gas fireplace or play a game of pool on our pool table. There is plenty of room to 'whip up' a quick meal in our well-equipped kitchen. A washer/dryer combo is available in kitchen area for your convenience. Enjoy WIFI, cable tv, and keyless entry to the cabin!! NO remote location for check-in, just go straight to the cabin to start your vacation!!
Upstairs, enjoy a spacious bedroom with cathedral ceiling, ceiling fan and overhead light for your convenience, a king size bed and a walk-in shower. Awesome couple's retreat!! From the bedroom balcony, enjoy the amazing view of Mt. LaConte.
After a day in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, enjoy a relaxing time a our hot tub which is located on the back deck on the lower level right outside the kitchen. Enjoy the private back deck complete with 2 rocking chairs and an upscale gas grill. During the winter, enjoy some city lights and during the spring and summer mostly a wooded view on the back deck--perfect for an escape to 'quiet'!
Perfect in every way!!!!!!

Guestbook comments from the owner
Just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time :) the cabin was nicer than we expected, the location and views were wonderful. Of course we stayed so busy exploring, we weren't at the cabin much during the day at all. I kept getting side tracked every time I went to write about our visit in the book, so there's no entry from us, sorry! we took the scenic route on the way up and home, through the National Forest.
We will definitely recommend your cabin to others, our dogs enjoyed their visit also, they thought the stairs were awesome.
We spent alot of time exploring the national park mostly, went to Dixie Stampede, it was my first time, I really enjoyed that. Walked around the Island, went to Ober Gatlinburg, our first time on a ski lift, also rode the Alpine slide while there. Ate at Captain Jim's Seafood buffet, it was pretty good (can't find many with all you can eat crab legs here in FL, go figure!) We ate at the Old Mill twice for breakfast, bought some grits for home. Also ate at Log Cabin Pancake House for breakfast another morning. We ate at Friendly Falls for lunch once, beautiful. We rode the Alpine Coaster. Ate at the Texas Road House twice (it's always been one of our favorites but we no longer have one local to us). Walked around Gatlinburg on Friday, did some shopping, then we drove out to the Fontana Dam via US 129 "The Dragon" both took a turn driving my MINI Cooper on it.
We never went tubing which was on my list of to do or to any of the caverns so hopefully we'll come back and do that and some zip lining, explore Cherokee, there was just too much to do!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin!

Cozy, budget friendly!
The cabin was clean and well maintained. Jackie was very quick to pay attention to any requests and issues during our stay. The location was quiet and is close to a lot of attractions. My parrot and my blind dog had a wonderful time going up and down the trail for our morning walk. It was constantly on the 90's during our stay which made the upstairs bedroom so warm the floor fan help a bit but I end up going downstairs when I wake up sweating. It would be nice to have a rockers it the upstairs balcony. Will consider for our future trip to the smokies.
Perfect in every way!!!!!!
We absolutely loved this cabin!!!! Perfect location and our new favorite place. Ms. Jackie was so easy to work with and we can't wait to go back. My two sons are still talking about how much fun they had. Thanks for lots of memories made.
My wife, myself and our two dogs booked this cabin last minute. We were glad we did! The pictures are a bit dated the cabin now has new flat screen tv's if that's important to you (we enjoyed watching the football games in front of the fire). My wife and I enjoyed the evenings in the hot tub and a few rounds of pool. Perfect romantic getaway for couples or maybe a family with small children (the coach folds out). The bedroom was great with a big king bed and it's own private deck overlooking the mountains. Views great from all sides! You can see Pigeon Forge and the surrounding mountains as well. Thank you Jackie for an enjoyable weekend and allowing our dogs :)
Great pet friendly place to spend your anniversary!
We really enjoyed our stay & only wished it could have been longer. Overall our dogs loved it for their 1st adventure away from home. Great place to stay if you want to stay in & not venture out. Kitchen accommodates making the perfect omelets for breakfast & the grill made the outstanding dinner for 2 with steak, shrimp, chicken, sautéed mushrooms & onions, & baked potatoes. Yes, I overdid it, but there is always room in the refrigerator to finish it off the next day. Nice large master bedroom with a view. Great having the pool table for game time. Endless number of great restaurants only minutes away for takeout if you don't want to cook. We used that feature for our 1st night's dinner. Would love to do this again!
Great location, very comfortable.
Simply stated, this cabin is a bargain. King bed & full bath upstairs, sofa sleeper & half bath down. Great for one to four people. Secluded but less than 2 miles off parkway. Pet friendly. For us, almost like home.
Now a bit more detail. Kitchen is equipped nicely if you want to cook, nice pots, electric grill, toaster, coffee maker, etc. Washer dryer, better dish washer than I have at home, electric stove, seating at the bar for three. Really fast wireless Internet, cable, two nice TVs. On the porch and deck are two comfortable chairs, a porch swing, gas grill, hot tub. Cabin is maybe 6 from the end of the road so almost no traffic. Indoor decor is average to good, nothing objectionable. Some of the furniture is rustic in nature.
What we liked best about this cabin is the location. It's close enough so you can get to the parkway without huge traffic backups. You can take the shortest route to get to the Sevierville Walmart and out - or take the back way to go into Pigeon Forge bypassing much of the parkway.
The most direct route to the cabin from the parkway is by going east on Collier at stoplight 13.4 (Walmart, Governors Crossing, TGIF).
Go east .7 miles and take a hard right onto Rainbow Rd.
Follow Rainbow 1.1 miles to the second cabin community on the left. The first community is Cabins at the Crossing. The second is Rainbow Ridge. Turn left here onto JED Trail. (Rainbow Rd is a 2 lane road good for about 30mph in daylight.)
Go up JED to the second drive at the top of the hill. Slow down here. Really slow. You need to turn right onto a hidden drive to the right. According to Google maps JED goes straight and right. You want to take that right fork. Google also shows JED making a loop so you can get there either way. That's wrong. You can't. Look for the little sign on the left at that fork. There's a 1634 there. Follow this one lane drive to the second cabin on the right. It's the one with an out building to the left. The only cabin like that on this drive.
