Our cabin, Betty Jeans Joy, is nestled on the upper side of the Lantern Hill community. Relax and enjoy the evening view or a morning cup of coffee while sitting in the front porch swing. Come inside and enjoy a very cozy place by the gas fireplace or play a game of pool on our pool table. There is plenty of room to 'whip up' a quick meal in our well-equipped kitchen. A washer/dryer combo is available in kitchen area for your convenience. Enjoy WIFI, cable tv, and keyless entry to the cabin!! NO remote location for check-in, just go straight to the cabin to start your vacation!!

Upstairs, enjoy a spacious bedroom with cathedral ceiling, ceiling fan and overhead light for your convenience, a king size bed and a walk-in shower and over-sized Jacuzzi tub. Awesome couple's retreat!! From the bedroom balcony, enjoy the amazing view of Mt. LaConte.

After a day in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, enjoy a relaxing time a our hot tub which is located on the back deck on the lower level right outside the kitchen. Enjoy the private back deck complete with 2 rocking chairs and an upscale gas grill. During the winter, enjoy some city lights and during the spring and summer mostly a wooded view on the back deck--perfect for an escape to 'quiet'!

About Jackie Watts

I am a teacher and my hubby is an electrician. We are an average working couple who love the mountains. We visit about 4 times a year. We can't wait until we retire to come visit more often.

Jackie Watts purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Jackie Watts chose Tennessee

We bought this cabin from friends of ours who were getting ready to retire. We fell in love with the cabin because of its beautiful view, coziness and convenient location.

What makes this cabin unique

Betty Jeans Joy is a sweet couples cabin that is very close to attractions, very accessible to Veterans Parkway, restaurants and more. We love that it's so conveniently located. Our guests are mainly couples and they love the convenience also.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time :) the cabin was nicer than we expected, the location and views were wonderful. Of course we stayed so busy exploring, we weren't at the cabin much during the day at all. I kept getting side tracked every time I went to write about our visit in the book, so there's no entry from us, sorry! we took the scenic route on the way up and home, through the National Forest.

We will definitely recommend your cabin to others, our dogs enjoyed their visit also, they thought the stairs were awesome.

We spent alot of time exploring the national park mostly, went to Dixie Stampede, it was my first time, I really enjoyed that. Walked around the Island, went to Ober Gatlinburg, our first time on a ski lift, also rode the Alpine slide while there. Ate at Captain Jim's Seafood buffet, it was pretty good (can't find many with all you can eat crab legs here in FL, go figure!) We ate at the Old Mill twice for breakfast, bought some grits for home. Also ate at Log Cabin Pancake House for breakfast another morning. We ate at Friendly Falls for lunch once, beautiful. We rode the Alpine Coaster. Ate at the Texas Road House twice (it's always been one of our favorites but we no longer have one local to us). Walked around Gatlinburg on Friday, did some shopping, then we drove out to the Fontana Dam via US 129 "The Dragon" both took a turn driving my MINI Cooper on it.

We never went tubing which was on my list of to do or to any of the caverns so hopefully we'll come back and do that and some zip lining, explore Cherokee, there was just too much to do!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin!

Comfortable, Convenient and memorable!

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice 4 night stay at this cabin with our two small furry family members. It is very nicely decorated and supplied with essentials. It is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of traffic yet close enough to be convenient to all the activities and shopping. We will definitely rent this cabin again on our next visit.

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a four day stay at Betty Jean's Joy, and could not be happier. The cabin was beautiful with all the little extras that you might need. It was in a great location. You were out of the city, but still only a few minutes drive to shops, restaurants, and attractions. And the mountain views were incredible! Also Mrs Jackie was an absolute pleasure to work with, and always quick to answer any questions I might have had. We will definitely be returning!!

Lovely Cabin but had not been serviced between guests

  • 3 of 5

Arrived at 10:30 tonight after traveling all day from Maine. It was hard to find at night because the porch light was not on. After unloading the car we went upstairs to find that the bed had not been made and the dirty linens were in the jetted tub. I immediately called the owner who apologized profusely and she was very prompt on the refund but she didn't seem to understand why I was upset (tired, cranky after a long travel day, having to make last minute other accommodations in a small hotel room instead of a nice cabin, having to pack everything back up in the car, settling down later for bed..........).

I do think the cabin would have been very nice. It looked like it had great views. Just sorry it didn't work out. Thankfully we didn't bring our dog so we were able to find a last minute hotel room although it isn't what I wanted.

I have rented many cabins off VRBO and this is the first time that I've had a bad experience.

Owner's Response: I do understand and can empathize with the guest, and deeply regret that the cabin was not cleaned when she arrived. There was a communication error between the cleaning company chain of command. I offered to help her find a hotel room and she declined. I promptly made a full refund to her credit card. I also did answer her phone call promptly. I am committed to making our cabin as comfortable and accommodating as possible. i have since changed cleaning companies. I expect that this incident should not happen again. Respectfully submitted.

Cozy, budget friendly!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was clean and well maintained. Jackie was very quick to pay attention to any requests and issues during our stay. The location was quiet and is close to a lot of attractions. My parrot and my blind dog had a wonderful time going up and down the trail for our morning walk. It was constantly on the 90's during our stay which made the upstairs bedroom so warm the floor fan help a bit but I end up going downstairs when I wake up sweating. It would be nice to have a rockers it the upstairs balcony. Will consider for our future trip to the smokies.

I do my best to help make your trip as memorable as possible by making the rental process as hassle-free as possible.
