Great Stay

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a week. I would have given the house a 5 star if I wasn't soo spoiled. We are used to a king bed and arent good sleepers. The bed was very comfortable, just not a king, and It doesn't have a bath tub. I like to bath, rather than shower. The house had everything we needed. It was immaculate. Air Conditioning worked great. We enjoyed riding the bikes and the Kayaks. Vinnie and Linda were very accommodating and friendly and responded to our needs quickly. We took the kayaks 20ish minutes south and went into a treed inlet, and discovered the trees full of iguanas (like 50-100). Big ones and small ones. Pretty Cool. We visited Crane point. A 1.5 mile walk thru trees, with 2 historical homes on site. Saw a Manatee, at the bridge and a nurse shark. Went to Robbies to feed the Tarpon, in Islamorada (I think the pelicans got more than the tarpon). The Tarpon and Pelicans were cool. Had supper at Berdynes (Marathon) on the water, and the round corn cakes were yummy (they might have been called hush puppies). Saw Portuguese man of war (lots of them) on the beach at john pennekamp state park. Marathon is 1 hr North (driving) of Key West, and about 2 hrs from Miami International Airport.

Immaculate! Everything we hoped for, needed, or wanted. And in an awesome location.

My wife and I came here for our 25th anniversary and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of this place. We couldn't get there until later in the evening and the lights were on waiting for us. The place is very clean and well kept. You can see that they did a lot of work cleaning and fixing up after the hurricane. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and located close to a lot of the local attractions. We could easily walk to some and bike to others. We also took the kayaks out a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed the trips. We didn't have a boat but tou can see where this is a great spot to dock your boat. It has a very nice dock and it's just a short distance to the channel. Overall this is a wonderful place to stay and we can't say enough about Linda and Vincent! Thanks again for a wonderful week.

Everything you need to know in this review!

If you are currently reading this review in your search for the perfect home rental in Marathon, let me be the first to congratulate you since you have successfully found the perfect rental! If you are anything like me you have been digging through this site clicking everything in your budget reading every review and doing as much homework as possible to make sure you are making the best choice possible. Let me assure you after tons and tons of research, you will NOT be disappointed staying here!

The House:

Linda and Vinnie aren't just providing you with an absolutely clean and beautiful rental for your keys vacation, they go WAY above and beyond to make sure you have EVERYTHING you need making you feel as if you were home. When you first open the door, you are welcomed with a very cool and fresh breeze of air and quickly notice how absolutely neat, clean, and well stocked your home is. From having a FULL kitchen including pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. all the way down to paper towels and common condiments stocked in the fridge. Your bathroom has enough towels to dry an entire family. Your closet is stocked with extra blankets, pillows, iron, hair drier and even beach towels for your use. The bed is comfy and very hard to get out of every morning especially since you're on vacation.

The Garage:

You have access to the garage which is perfect for storing all your boat/fishing/outdoor gear during your stay. The garage includes very large freezer to store your bait and even provides reusable ice blocks you can borrow for your fishing trips. A washer/dryer for your own use (yes, they even provide you laundry detergent!). A pair of bicycles with locks (we used them during a day trip to Key West which worked out perfect!)

The Dock:

We brought a 17' CC which of course we had plenty of dock frontage to use comfortably. The first thing you notice when you dock is there are very nice bumpers attached to the pilings protecting your boat when bumping around in the light waves in the canal. You are also provided with fresh water to rinse your boat, a large fillet table for your daily catches, rod holders next to the hose to allow you to clean your gear, a large drying rack to toss your towels on and my favorite... chairs and tables to have your coffee watching the sun rise or to have a beautiful evening dinner/evening cocktails watching the sun set.

I had more to say but have reached my character limit! Bottom line: YOU CANT DO BETTER THAN THIS!!!!!!!!!

Very beautiful and quiet setting. Amazing amenities. Perfect location .

  • 5 of 5

The home is very very clean and organized. Very beautiful location. Close to either the bay side or the Pacific side of the ocean. Vincent and Linda are amazing hosts. Very relaxing . I have my down payment for next year this will be our fifth year down. We have spent many lobster seasons in other homes and we're not impressed. This is nice, quiet and quaint. Worth every penny!

Clean and Convenient!

By far the cleanest place we have stayed. Being able to leave our boat on the water was very convenient. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait for our next visit!
