The place was clean and cute
We came to this beautiful Island and it was so beautiful. The place we stayed at was clean and nicely decorated. They had so much accommodations and the view was beautiful. We will be planning to visit again soon.
Very happy with the accommodations!
"Seas" the Day was clean, orderly, well-maintained, and well-equipped! Appreciated the use of the pass to Hunting Island. The beach wagon was great help! Pool right outside the back door was a plus! We had a great relaxing vacation! Would definitely use again and recommend to friends!
This condo is very well decorated and perfect for a family of four. It would be tight for four adults. If you are looking for a low key relaxing vacation, this is the place to be. It is located fairly central in the neighborhood making the walk to the pool and tennis courts very short. Walking off the living room deck, you are immediately on the boardwalk to a private beach.
You are in the midst of nature on Harbor Island. We saw the growing population of sea turtle nests while we were there, alligators, and Dolphins. The beach is very abundant with shells, hermit crabs, helmet crabs, and birds. It is a very quiet area with a high population of permanent residents who are very friendly. It is also very secure, the gate guards are 100% on duty and will respond to any rule violations.
There is a small market/gift shop area with a restaurant /bar within walking distance of condo, just outside of the main entrance gate. Johnson Creek Tavern (very casual) is well worth visiting. Shrimp Shack is delicious as well (very casual). If you drive by and see Shrimp Shack open, stop then. Their business hours vary depending upon food supply. Ladies Island (about 20 minutes) has very nice grocery stores and some chain restaurants. Beaufort is beyond beautiful. Every picture you see with the beautiful colors is "as is". All of my pictures turned out as beautiful and colorful and professional pictures seen on the Beaufort FB page. We really enjoyed our visits to the coffee shop (that has way more than coffee-panini, gelato) and then taking our purchase to the swings to watch boats. Again, residents of the boats and town were extremely nice. We also took a few trips to Hilton Head and Savannah. Each about an hours drive. If you stay here you must go to Hunting Island. I can't even describe the "hidden beach" - it's too beautiful for words or photos. You will definitely have an ah ha moment. Go at low tide.
I could go on and on about this place, but I'll stop here. A couple things to take note of:
-The beach is very wide at low tide.
-Even though the building is on the beach front, you will have to go through a dunes area (for lack of a better term) to get to the beach. Pathways to the beach are a network of nice board walks.
-There are alligators in areas along the road. I thought this was awesome, but you need to be aware.
-Pool steps from deck.
WONDERFUL RELAXING VACATION
We loved Seas the Day. Beautifully decorated with a beach theme. Just a short walk to the quiet, uncrowded beach. Our teens were so glad to see the beach wagon for hauling all the provided beach equipment. We made use of the provided pass to Hunting Island State Park. We fished at the pier there and enjoyed the beach and lighthouse. Sandwiches at Marsh Tacky Market Café just down the road are amazing. Super friendly people too. We also tried their grilled donuts.....oh my!!!! We would highly recommend this property to others. It is exactly as described and the property manager is great to work with. He provided helpful information prior to our visit and sent an email checking on us once we got there. The property was very clean and well maintained. Loved it so much we want to go back soon!!!
"Seas" The Day is a beautiful place!
My husband and I stayed in this beautiful villa for two weeks and we loved everything about it! We were visiting with our son and his family and they came to visit us and enjoy the beach. Sand pails and shovels were provided and the grandchildren experienced so many wonderful encounters with horseshoe crabs and other sea life. Everyone was very friendly on Harbor Island and the location is perfect-right by the pool and a very short walk to the beach.
The villa was outstandingly stocked with everything you could possibly need! You only have to provide your food. Robert, the property manager, was very friendly and helpful! We definitely recommend this lovely villa and we can't wait to visit again! Lorie and Steve Lynch Mexico, New York
Good value for relaxing getaway.
Harbor Island is a choice destination for anyone looking to step out of the hustle and bustle of daily life, relax in a simple, uncrowded gated community and enjoy a large, sparsely-used private beach that is also reasonably close to other nearby attractions. One thing to be a little careful of is where you shop to book your stay here. Other comparable units cost substantially more through other vendors with inflated gate pass costs, excessive cleaning and other fees which can really add up. The cost for this unit, including some unexpected amenities, was less than what we could have paid at a cramped motel somewhere nearby. We had two private decks - one off the bedroom and one off the living room - where we comfortably sat sipping coffee and catching up on a little reading. There was a good television in both the bedroom and living room with ample and clear programming. The kitchen was equipped with anything we needed to prepare a meal which also included a petty good inventory of spices. A storage box on one of the decks included beach chairs you can take with you over the nearby boardwalk to the beach. During the time of our visit, there was even a current season's pass to nearby Hunting Island which saved us extra fees each time we visited. The manager of the unit did well in providing us with lots of information on places nearby to go and things to do and is interested in your having a good experience. The beach was fun with its tidal pools full of active horseshoe crabs and nesting gulls and pelicans on one of the points. We went crabbing at the boat ramp on Hunting Island using chicken tied to weighted string and scooping them up in a net as they neared the surface. The crabs were big and the meat very sweet. Someone recommended the Sea Eagle in Beaufort for buying fresh seafood, which we did with no regrets. Steamers in the same town is a good choice for a seafood restaurant. The little tavern/restaurant near a cluster of little shops close to Harbor Island had good food but always seemed a little under staffed and very busy. We never made it to the Shrimp Shack across the bridge but always enjoyed it in the past. Altogether, a good stay and difficult to beat for the type of place it is and price. Will be returning at some point - probably off season as we did this time.
Activity and Interests
While the setting on Harbor Island provides a relaxing atmosphere, the active minded can readily take advantage of the Island's Beach & Raquet Club. It offers tennis courts, large swimming pool (there is an additional smaller one right beside the Villa as well), wading pool for infants, playground, sand volleyball court, food/gift shop area and exercise facility! Of course, you have complete access to the beach on Harbor Island! All of this is just a few steps away from your Villa!
You may want to try your hand at crabbing from the nice designated dock on the Island. Leave your trap tied off and go out on the beach and surf cast for the BIG CATCH! Also, there is much enjoyment in just walking on the beach collecting shells or looking out at shrimp boats with "nets extended" and seeing dolphins playing in the water off in the distance!
When you are ready to venture off the Island, there are convenient locations nearby for putting-in your personal boat off the Island (boat not included in rental) or hearing the spin of your reel as you drop a fishing line with your favorite lure attached! There is even a location off-Island nearby for pier fishing!
Do you feel like visiting the only lighthouse in South Carolina where you can actually walk to the top looking out for miles around in all directions? Well, you are in luck as 5,000 acre Hunting Island State Park is located right down the road from Harbor Island!
Nearby "Ladys Island" has two major grocery stores supplying everything you will need for "roughing it" back at the Villa!
The downtown area of Beaufort, South Carolina awaits you with an abundance of history, art, culture and natural beauty. It is the second oldest city in South Carolina with more homes on the National Historic Register than any other town its size! Carriage and walking tours are available providing background history of the "Spannish mossed" neighborhoods where homes date back to the 1700s! This beautiful downtown area also provides you with a shopping district where antique, boutique and art gallery shops abound along with casual eateries and fine restaurants!
For those looking to add a perfect day trip to their schedule, the historic cities of Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia are short drives from downtown Beaufort!
What are you waiting on if all sounds good to you? Go ahead and "Seas" The Day and make your reservation now!
