Well stocked...we brought in a lot but already had garbage bags, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, salt & pepper, toilet paper. We loved it here!

Perfect quiet getaway cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Jill's home was the perfect getaway for our spring break. Having three teen/tween boys, the fact that the property backed up to a canal that accessed the sound was more than ideal. It provides a quiet respite for those looking to sit on the swing or the dock and instant water access for those who wanted to fish, crab or do other water activities such as paddle board or kayak. The large attraction for us was the access to the homeowners kayaks and paddle boards. Since we were traveling a distance, not having to worry about setting up a rental and delivery was more than ideal!

The Collington area of the OBX was new to us during our stay. It was just 5 short miles or so to get to the main road, but enough off of the beaten path that it was out of the hustle and bustle. The community has a swimming pool, that while we didn't access it during our stay, I am sure will serve as an added plus to those who choose to. The basketball courts were used by my teens and provided a needed outlet for some excess energy. There seemed to be great places to walk, ride bikes, and enjoy the community as a whole.

For those who chose to hang closer to the house and relax, the house was well stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. Having stayed in other rental homes before, I usually bring some small things (plastic bags for trash, sandwich bags, etc as well as soap for the bathrooms as well as dish soap and laundry detergent.) There was much of this stuff already in the home when we got there and that was a very pleasant surprise. The homeowner was willing to assist us by allowing us use of linens, again, so we didn't have to pack and carry.

Overall, our experience exceeded our expectations and we hope to be able to come back for a visit to this area and property soon!

September 9-16, 2017

We had a wonderful week at Jill Price’s home. The home is beautiful, very clean and had everything needed for our stay. Jill is very responsive- any question I emailed was answered in 24 hours (actually it was usually answered within the hour!). Everything we needed to know was emailed – very detailed on directions, instructions and anything we needed to know.

The location is great – right on the canal. We brought our paddle boards; however there are kayaks at the home to use. My husband was able to fish from the backyard deck in the evening. When looking to rent, we weren’t sure which area to choose, however this was perfect – central to everything, but peaceful. It was only a short drive whether going to Corolla or Rodanthe.

Thank you, Jill!!!
