Amazing lodge

  • 5 of 5

The Lodge is 100 years old, but completely updated and very clean. It's filled with charm and very spacious for our family of 8. We loved staying there. The location provides amazing views but felt like quite a trek from Cody (about a 40 min drive). However the drive was beautiful with many wild life spottings. The hosts are very hospitable and provided a short history of the place and wildlife talk on our request. We went for a three hour hike in the mountains on their property and the kids loved splashing around in the creek. All in all it ended up being our favorite place that we stayed on our 2 week road trip. This is the place to unplug, because we had no internet or cell service while there. My kids want to go back and stay for a whole week next vacation.

Beyond Expectations!

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with cabin and its size; its remote mountain location and well decorated interior exceeded our expectations! We had a great time hiking/fishing/viewing wild life in the area.

Get away from it all in a slice of Heaven.

If you are looking for a place to stay where you can sit out on a huge covered porch, drink your morning coffee, and look up at one of the most beautiful views in Wyoming, then this is the place for you. As an added benefit, you will be seriously out in the middle of no where and will be bothered by no one. The icing on the cake is the lodge that you will be awed by. Beautiful furnishings, modern appliances, and great water pressure, blends with a hunting lodge that boasts a living room with a fireplace large enough to roast a stag, bedrooms with comfy beds covered in colorful country quilts, and a kitchen with an eating area that can hold a large family. The drive to and from the lodge was always an adventure. We never failed to see wildlife, including a large male pronghorn that loved to pose for us. The owners, Ken and Jill, were very friendly and helpful, and filled us in on the history of the property. Plan several days of just staying at the lodge, sitting by the creek that flows in front of the property, hiking the hills, and enjoying the solitude. You can truly get away from it all.

Beautiful Vintage Cabin

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay in a large 100-year old cabin furnished with antique artifacts, but completely updated. The scenery was spectacular. The drive to Cody was long, but we didn't need to go often. Enjoyed a great horseback ride at a ranch down the road.

Great Time with Grandsons

  • 5 of 5

Words can not describe what a great place the Double L Bar Guest Ranch was to spend five days with my grandsons . They all said the cabin was the highlight of our two week trip out west . It was a trip that they will never forget . It was a taste of the old west and the mountains all in one. I enjoyed getting up in the morning and starting the fire and watching the sun come up over the snowcapped mountains , then fixing breakfast for the boys . Bob Kik (papa)

Antique Lovers Dream House

  • 5 of 5

Great home with such wonderful history and awesome decorating! We just loved looking at the creative way the home was preserved and all the antique touches! The fireplace was very spacious and owners couldn't be nicer. We enjoyed family meals in the amazing kitchen which was roomy and had everything we needed to prepare a meal and a bar-be-que.

Only word of was over an hours drive from the Yellowstone east entrance and seemed to be located in the middle of a "beautiful" no where! Make sure you have clear driving directions before you get there as cell phone and internet connections are almost nil out there. If you can budget extra time into your adventure and want to take a few days off from Yellowstone...this is a perfect retreat house.

Wished we had more time to enjoy it!
