About the Owner

Andrew and I are life long natives of Maine. We take great pride in our log home. Andrew is a master carpenter and general contractor by trade. Together we lovingly built this log home for our family being sure to add all the small touches that make a house a home. We love sharing the home with our guests and hearing about how the setting allows them to enjoy time with their family and friends in peace and quiet. We own and manage two other properties located at the award wining Point Sebago Golf and Beach Resort in Casco Maine. 790755 and 790754. Check them out!

We had such a wonderful and relaxing time. It was a wonderful birthday weekend. The cabin is so beautiful and very clean. Joanna is wonderful to deal with. We would love to stay here again. We didn't want to go home. I highly recommend this cabin.

Wonderful, Relaxing Stay

  • 5 of 5

I booked last minute as my other destination was cancelled due to construction problems. Joanna was more than accomodating and the booking was easy! We arrived to a beautiful and private home on a gorgeous lake. The home is clean and has everything you could need! My husband and I enjoyed the fireplace, hottub and having breakfast on the deck overlooking the lake. Communication with Joanna was fast, she was easy to get ahold of any time we needed. We cannot wait to return!

Great Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a great lake getaway, this place is for you! Midweek, fall, we had the lake to ourselves. The owner, Joanna, was very communicative prior to our trip, provided excellent directions and recommendations in the area. While the house is properly tucked away, we had all of the comforts of home and more. Thoughtful touches were discovered at every corner including DVDs and a game cabinet. The hot tub was out of this world! A great way to cure sore muscles and relax. We had a lovely time and cannot wait to come back.

R & R at it's finest.

  • 5 of 5

Joanna and Andrew have a real gem here. The Log Cabin is Rustic, yet modern, and full of all the amenities you could possibly need and want. Communication with them was really great from our first inquiry about the property all the way to promptly receiving our deposit back after we arrived home.

We were a family with 3 generations looking for a special place to spend some time together. The layout of the cabin enabled us to all have our privacy. 86 year old grandma was in a bedroom on the main floor so she didn't have to climb any stairs. Grown children enjoyed their own space in the loft. We (the parents) had our own suite on the ground level.

The openness of the common areas gave us a place to gather, prepare meals, play games at night, and just hang out. It was very comfortable.

Another reason we chose this property was the Lake front, dock, and swimming area. We wanted Grandma to be able to make it down and sit on the dock. The gentle slope from the house to the water made for easy walking. We enjoyed many hours together by the water, summing, kayaking around the pond, sunbathing on the raft, reading, or just enjoying the peaceful setting. There are only a few houses on the Pond, and no big boats, so it is really quiet and peaceful.

The setting of the cabin on Sandy Pind is amazing. I have never seen such incredible sunrises and sunsets in all my life. One morning before 5 am I sat out on the dock and enjoyed the light show happening before me. Before I knew it, an hour had passed. I love photography and captured it all on camera in an incredible sequence.

Town is about 20 minutes away where you can find anything you need. We tried Ken's Family Restaurant twice. The Fried Scallops were so delicious, we went back a second time later in the week. We also frequented the Ice Cream Parlor a few times.

We waited for the perfect weather and took at day trip to Mt Washington. The drive was a little over 2 hours but the amazing views were completely worth it!! We were brave and drove our own car up. All I can say is WOW.

We highly recommend Joanna and Andrew's place on Sandy Pond.

Beautiful Peaceful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had a fabulous week long summer vacation enjoying this little slice of heaven. The Hideway cabin is absolutely beautiful and very spacious. Joanna & Andrew have done an amazing job designing this cabin, down to every last detail. The cabin provides everything you could ever need during your stay, including 2 coffee makers, popcorn maker, blender, kitchen aide mixer, full size appliances, laundry, not to mention an extensive library of DVD’s, board games and CD’s for the stereo. Sandy Pond was so calm and beautiful. The family of loons added to its tranquility. Each morning we began our day with coffee on the deck, spending most of our time on the water and ended each day with a camp fire overlooking the pond and relaxed with the luxury of the hot tub. We loved our stay so much we are already planning to return next summer!

We absolutely loved our stay at "the hideaway!" The cabin had everything we needed. Joanne and Andrew were great! Their attention to detail and customer service was wonderful. The cabin was extremely clean and well kept. We enjoyed swimming out to the dock and relaxing in the hot tub. It was such a peaceful stay. We absolutely fell in love with the loons. We would definitely recommend it and can't wait to plan our next trip to "the hideaway."

From the Owner

Our cabin has all the comforts that we have come to rely on and more, yet provides a classic rustic feel (without the sacrifices!). It's far enough "away from it all" to provide our guests with the opportunity to decompress from daily life, yet it is not too far from stores, hospitals and other necessities.
