Why Garrett Williams chose Estate Pleasant Valley West
Island life is fantastic. Being at the beach or on the water for the day is such a wonderful experience. Annaly Manor gives you something even more... Being able to also experience the rain-forest is a huge blessing. Hiking trails, horseback riding, 4 wheeler rides, and the diversity of animal and plant life is amazing. Annaly is the perfect place to get away and unwind after a long day out and about.

Glorious, private, exotic, roomy
Well, maybe we're biased since we built the house, but we LOVE this amazing place. Garrett and Amy do a great job making the place welcoming, comfortable, and beautiful. We had zero problems—and the house had everything we needed—the grounds were immaculate, and we enjoyed fresh mango and papaya every day that we picked onsite. We revisited memories hiking down to the tidal pools and swimming in the huge pool. Thank you guys for putting it up as a rental so we can come back and enjoy it. We hope to be back in a few years. <3
We loved having you guys come back for a visit. You’re welcome anytime!
A great location
We had a great stay at Annaly Manor. Check-in was easy - a gated driveway and front door with a code made us feel secure. The house was very clean, tastefully decorated, and spacious. The grounds were well kept, we were able to pick a few pieces of mango and papaya. Pool was awesome - there were a lot of wasps that we were wary of but in the end, they didn't mind sharing the space. Wi-Fi, A/C, dishwasher, and washer/dryer were available and we had no issues. We highly recommend getting a jeep or similar in order to reach the house as the road is known as "The Pothole Preserve." We were greeted nightly by a herd of wild cows and a few deer. The location of the house is in the middle of the rainforest, plan for at least 10-15 minutes of driving to get to the beach; the additional time is for the switchbacks and pothole avoiding that Google Maps doesn't account for. The views of the valleys and distant sea are spectacular. We would gladly book again, maybe with some friends, as this house is huge!
Thank you again for choosing Annaly Manor. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your return.
We had a wonderful stay at Annaly Manor! There were 11 of us from the family. Many had never been out of the mainland US let alone a wonderful rainforest location such as this. House and property was clean and well maintained. This is a gated property and it is an adventure driving to the home as the main public road leading up the gated property entrance is typical Saint Croix. Would advise having a Jeep or higher clearance vehicle (we had 3 Ford Focus' and it was truly an adventure each and every trip but it is doable) to get up the public roads. Once through the beautiful automatic gate, the road into the house is wonderful. The birds and sounds coming from the forest in the night is phenomenal! Clear skies, stars, and moonlit nights... we experienced it all!
House is huge, well furnished and comfortable. With a large group it was great to get away from each other every once and a while too inside this big home. Pool was very enjoyable and the bugs weren't as bad as expected either. This is a very secluded property to get away. Both the homeowners and the caretakers were very helpful and accomodating. Thanks for helping to make such a memorable stay!! Thompson's, Mazza's, Perry's, & Escobar's
Quiet Peaceful Retreat with Refreshing Pool, Cooling Breezes, Perfect for Large Groups
Annaly Manor is one of the few homes in St Croix large enough for our family reunion consisting of 12 adults and 5 children. Regarding prior reviews about the potholes, the last mile or so of the road to the house is quite bumpy but we made it easily in a minivan with some slow creative driving. The home is quite spacious and easily accommodated all of us. The master bedroom and upstairs larger bedroom are beautiful retreats. All bedding is soft and comfortable. The kitchen is quite roomy, allowing our foodie family members to collaborate on creative meals using the double oven and large gas range. We would advise purchasing disposable coffee cups if your group is large as we were constantly running short of the ceramic cups. The pool is huge and warm and our group spent a lot of time there. We didn’t find any pool toys so bought a couple of floaties, also left boogie boards to add to the 2 large coolers, many beach towels and beach chairs that were supplied. The house is clean and well-maintained, but being in the rainforest there are the expected bugs here and there. Garrett assured us that if this became a nuisance to call and he would send someone out to take care of it (we did not feel this was necessary). We were pleased at the complete absence of mosquitos and enjoyed many pleasant hours sitting outdoors in the cooling breezes. We did have a problem with a power outage on Friday which affected the entire west side of the island so no fault of the homeowner. However, when we attempted to start the generator at the caretaker’s instruction, we had some problems and could not use it. Fortunately, the power came back on before nightfall. However, the refrigerator in the kitchen started warming up, and we had to move all our food to the much smaller unit downstairs. The refrigerator problem continued through the weekend but by Monday morning it was back to regular temperatures, so the food was moved back upstairs. Then Monday evening we had a power brown-out and the water pump stopped working. The upstairs refrigerator also started warming up again, so once again food was moved downstairs. Repeated attempts to restart the water pump failed until we checked out the next day. The caretaker, Garrett, and Amy were very good about responding immediately to questions and concerns but it was difficult to describe and remediate some of the issues. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home and would recommend it for large groups.
Thank you so much for choosing Annaly Manor for your stay. We appreciate your communication and your thoughtful review. Just as an update, the power problems were addressed by the utility company and our local electrician - everything is back to normal and working well.
Thank you again, we welcome you and your family back anytime.
Garrett & Amy
My husband and I had a fantastic time in St. Croix staying in this beautiful, secluded home. The views were unbelievable. The rainforest provided a peaceful backdrop to a relaxing vacation. The amenities in the home were everything we hoped for, it was exceptionally clean and well cared for, and the outdoor areas were perfect for enjoying a game of corn hole, grilling local fresh seafood, a cool swim, or relaxing with a cocktail. The road up to the property is pretty rough, although we were able to navigate it in a Ford Festiva (jeeps were all rented out-it would have made travel up the hill easier to have a jeep). The beaches at the bottom of the hill are pristine and during our stay, were pretty much deserted. Grocery and restaurants within convenient driving distance. While it was just my husband and me on this trip, this home would be perfect for a large family or group of friends. Great for entertaining or special event. The owner was very helpful before and during the trip, providing prompt responses to questions/concerns. Thanks, Garrett, for a truly memorable vacation! We hope to come back soon!
Beautiful Home with Breathtaking Views
The home is huge, and gorgeous, and very warm and inviting. There was everything you could dream of needing provided, even everything you need for a trip to the beach (towels, sunscreen, a cooler). The beds were very comfortable, the house was clean, the pool was beautiful. The view from the home is just spectacular. Garret was responsive to messages and an attentive host (down to answering me when I couldn't figure out how to work the shower!). Nestled high in the rain forest, I would highly recommend Annaly Manor to anyone wanting the best of both worlds on St. Croix. However, I would recommend renting a SUV versus a car as the roads up and down the mountain can be a wee bit treacherous, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area. I am on the island indefinitely and have already recommended this property to friends and family wanting to come for a visit. You will not be disappointed in this property!
You'll be just a few minutes to the pristine beaches and calm seas of the West end - Perfect for snorkeling, swimming, jet skiing, and enjoying the amazing sunsets.Take a ATV tour throught the rainforest or see the sights from horseback on your way down to the beach. There are several wonderful beach restaurants with friendly local staff willing to cater to your every need. If scuba is your thing, the North shore is also just a few minutes away and has some of the best reef diving in the world. Off shore fishing charters are available and can provide some fantastic meals back at the estate. Sailing trips for snorkeling and sightseeing are always available and are a wonderful way to spend a day together. The West end is also home to the Sea Turtle nesting grounds - What an amazing way to spend the evening.
