Overview

About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 4 Sleeps

Enjoy spectacular views of the St. Lawrence River from the deck of this one bedroom cottage located on a private lot with 200 feet of shoreline.

Ships traveling the St. Lawrence Seaway pass in front of the cottage as do recreational boats. There is direct access to the water from the beach in front of the cottage. There is a small dock. Boaters can launch their boats from a public boat launch nearby.

The deck that surrounds two sides of the cottage provides not only a spectacular view of the river and boating activities but is a great place to relax, read, barbecue and dine.

The living room / dining area inside the cottage also has a great view with comfortable seating, dining table and cable/internet access.

The kitchen is modern and spacious and equipped with all the basics for meal preparation.

Of course, being near Clayton, guests will want to explore the fine dining of the local restaurants as well as all the other amenities Clayton and the surrounding area have to offer.

**If cancellation is necessary, the funds will be refunded only if the dates can be rebooked.

Loved this cute cottage! The view is spectacular and we had the nicest week of the season. Great!

The owner could not have been more accommodating. We felt right at home in the cottage. Unfortunately the river had been up which meant we couldn't really take advantage of the little beach area or dock. The river moved docks around! We had such a great time kayaking on the river, doing local tourist things and being with friends. The ships going by provided much entertainment and on my last day I saw the elusive loon! I had such a wonderful time I didn't want to go home. Great vacation!

Perfect for us

  • 4 of 5

We were looking for an unplugged week of book-reading, ship-watching, town-exploring & this property filled the bill. We could have our dog, there was a 1.5 mile walking field just down the road that we visited every morning. There's privacy, enough room inside & out & a terrific view of the river. It's pretty much as advertised. It's not like there's a steady stream of boats passing by, maybe 20 all week (we were pretty much gone most of the days). We enjoyed the bottled water provided, W/D, microwave & coffee-maker, everything we needed was provided. Drawbacks? There are some steep steps, some bugs & no A/C, none of that bothered us. Owners were easy & helpful, highly recommended.

Amazing view that lasts for days

  • 5 of 5

The River Cottage is one of my favorite places to stay at the River. It is quiet and clean. Even with the high water levels, we were able to enjoy the water at the cottage. The cottage is stocked with everything someone could need. Mary and Rick are also great to deal with. We definetly look forward to returning in the future.

Spring retreat

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect for our spring get away. We took our 2 Jack Russells and they settled in immediately in their new environment. With our binoculars and were able to identify several species of birds not common in our suburban garden - pileated woodpecker, black and white warbler and Baltimore oriole, to name a few. Thanks to the internet we found the St Lawrence Seaways web site and were able to track the ships as they came into view. The trail at Zenda Farms was a short walk from us and very well kept. We look forward to coming back soon to enjoy this very private cottage in the tree tops overlooking the river.
