Romantic getaway

  • 5 of 5

The first night we made,a,wonderful fire and listened to the peeper frogs and loons in the distance. Looking up to the thousands of stars reminding us of sights and sounds we do not hear in the city.. (Nice touch having a optiipn toswitch to shut off the motion light detrctor light)

Mornings were on the porch with coffee looking across the bay at the besutif Northwood with no buildings. We head 11 different birds on an hour!

The cottage is decorated in up north atmosphere. Bed was very comfortable smiley face.

The kitchen had everything and our host said if we needed anything she would bring it down

The owner lives at the end of the road.

The cottage has a nice small private sand beach. To cold 4 us to enjoy. But fishing was good and we appreciated the free boat.

The cottage was very clean and we will return with the kids next time. Thank goodness for grand parents!

Loved this rustic clean cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I loved this rustic cabin! Very clean and the owner Jenneane was so accommodating. My granddaughters loved the sandy area by the water and played there often. We rented a pontoon from Good Enuf Boat Rentals, who I highly recommend. A little pricey but well worth the boating on the chain of lakes this cabin sits on. Very peaceful and quiet. Loved sitting by myself early in the morning outside admiring the beautiful lake. I actually was able to read a book in the week we were there. We loved Pitliks Resort, which was about 10 minutes from the cabin. We purchased our ice there and had the Friday fish fry which was very good. We also just love this area. Flea/Craft markets every day in a different little city, shopping in Eagle River, etc. Highly recommend this cabin. Very nice. Laura

A True Northwoods Cabin Experience.....Precious!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a true Norhwoods cabin. The kind I was introduced to 40 years ago as a child (except this one has plumbing). I would guess a 1940s to 1960s era cabin with all the modern conveniences that one should need to spend a day or two (or a week) at the lake and in the woods. The owner has kept it marvelously clean, cute, quaint. She was amazingly accomodating and very pleasant to deal with and provided us with a completely hassle free weekend getaway.

I suppose, by todays standards, some would say the adjacent properties are too close for comfort. They are close. But that is the way it was "back in the day" when this property was built when this property would have been looked at as nothing other than "Luxurious". We happened to not have any neighbors up for the weekend but don't believe it would have been an issue if there were. Actually, the entire setting only reminded me of a quieter, simpler time in life when we didn't have as much but appreciated it so much more. So if you're looking for 40 acres of woods and a private lake.... this isn't it. But if you're looking for a fantastically beautifully view of a wonderful lake, with Eagles and Herons, Fish, Hummingbirds, Turkeys and Deer....etc, This cabin would be perfect for 2-6 (or 7) people. It was for us.

Owner's Response: Thank-you for enjoying our cottage and taking the time to write a review. We try to make everyone's "North woods" experience a delightful one. I know how precious our renters vacations are. The cottages may seem close to some, but the neighbors cottages are not rentals and are individually owned so the peacefulness of our bay is always maintained, no matter what season you visit. It was our pleasure to have you as our guests and happy you found The Pinewood enjoyable. We hope you have the opportunity to join us again and stay a little longer! Best wishes always, Jenneane
