This fully furnished 2 Bed/ 1 bath cottage with 90' of private frontage on 2,063 acre all sports Green Lake has gone through a major renovation in 2012. The remodeling included all new roof, siding, windows, knotty pine walls, ceilings, flooring, landscaping and more... The cottage sits on the South end of Green Lake near the mouth of the Betsie River and 5 minutes to the Interlochen Arts Academy and 15-20 to Traverse City.
The cottage offers a 14' starcraft fishing/row boat and a paddle boat for your private use. Or if you like you can bring your own boat and tie up to the dock. You can also enjoy yourself by lounging on the new brick paver patio with built in fire pit or by spreading the sand beneath your toes on the small beach area. If working is your thing the Wi-Fi reaches the end of the dock.
The Decor has the full "up north" feel to it. Log beds, end tables, leather furniture, knotty pine throughout ect. (NEW LEATHER COUCHES, MATTRESSES & KUERIG COFFEE MAKER SPRING 2015).
The area has so much to offer with top ten ratings for travelers, food enthusiasts, winery lovers and beach goers. Enjoy a book in the hammock with the morning sun and a round of golf at one of the many highly recognized golf courses in the afternoon.
The cottage is privately owned and is not set-up for more than 5 people total (including children of any age), there is a $100 per person/per week fee for any people over the 5/person limit and must be approved by the owner. This is taken very seriously as we base the price of the rental on a total of 5 people (including children). Thanks for your respect on this issue.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Green Lake Cottage. It was the perfect getaway.
For starters, Joel is great to work with. Second, the cabin is incredibly clean, very well decorated and very comfortable. Just the right size for our family of four, and comes well equipped. The large picture window in the family room provided some beautiful views. The lake is wonderful. Our boys enjoyed fishing from the dock, as well as in the boats provided, and had a lot of success. They caught Pike, Perch, Blue Gills, Rock Bass, Large Mouth Bass, and the biggest catch was made by our 7 yr old...a 7lb 24" Bowfin. The campfire area was wonderful and we enjoyed many s'mores around it. Lots of wildlife around as well. We saw lots of beautiful birds, deer, and the highlight were the two baby river otters that came scurrying through the backyard, twice! We even saw a bobcat while we were driving to Traverse City one day.
Interlochen is a fantastic town. And it is located near so many wonderful attractions. I highly recommend this Cottage to anyone looking to enjoy some Northern Michigan fun!
This cottage is located in Interlochen, which is the best little town. We enjoyed eating at Bud's and the ice cream there is amazing! The mini golf across the street was a lot of fun for our family.
The cottage is VERY CLEAN and well maintained. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a nice TV to watch and unwind after a long day. We loved the updated dining area and the decor in the cottage. The bathroom is small but very functional. The towels provided our family of four two days worth of use, then we had to do a laundromat run, but the Crystal Clean Lakeside Laundromat wasn't too far of a drive to do a quick couple of loads.
Our family brought our boat up to enjoy the lake. The public launch is 6/10 of a mile from the cottage and well maintained. The lake itself is beautiful! Our kids caught three rock bass, one 13 inch and two 12 inch fish. We enjoyed watching the deer and the family of geese, as well as the many bald eagles, turkey, loons, and even a skunk (from inside the cottage, thank goodness!).
We didn't have the warmest weather but we were still able to enjoy the lake, cook s'mores, and wade in the lake. We took day trips to Leland to enjoy Lake Michigan and to eat at The Cove, which has the best clam chowder we've ever eaten. We also went to Glen Arbor and to the U.P. for a morning. The cottage is perfectly located so the trips to see the beauty of Michigan is totally accessible. Our kids battled the waves in Lake Michigan at the DH Day Campground, just outside of Glen Arbor.
We look forward to using the cottage again...we didn't want to come home and the vote was unanimous--it was the best family vacation we've ever taken!
Well kept, peaceful, and an amazing view, what more is there to ask for!
This cottage is in a perfect location in upper Michigan. It has everything you need! It is comfortable, clean, updated and private-perfect for a relaxing trip. The large windows give an excellent view of the lake. The views of the sunsets and night sky are amazing since you are away for all the lights of the city. If you wish to venture out downtown Traverse City is an easy 20 minute drive which offers a lot of restaurants and specialty shops. Joel is a wonderful owner and you can tell how much care and detail he has put into making the cottage an incredible place to stay. I would highly recommend it!
This is an awesome cottage with a fabulous view! My family had a great time jet skiing, tubing, paddle boating, row boating, and relaxing in the evening around the campfire. Everything is clean and the lake is quiet. You will have everything you need!! You can choose to have a quiet getaway or an adventurous time. I hope to stay here again soon! Thank you Joel for everything and for sharing your home with us!
My wife and I had the privilege of staying a few days at this well decorated, updated cottage. Our life over the past years has been at the minimum, hectic. Peace and quite is the thing we needed. This fit the bill perfectly. I am not sure why there wasn't more activity on the lake, maybe the time of year, but it was great. Quite nights by the campfire, (I have to build one of those Joel). Float on the lake in the boats, quite time in the sun. Lovely, beautiful, perfect is some of the ways I can describe our time. Thank you again Joel and Lynn. Loved every minute.
