My daughters and I stayed there a few weeks ago to attend a craft fair. The owner ,Tony, was great to work with. The cottage was clean, comfortable and cute. We will definitely book again.
Thank you very much for the kind words.
Loved it! The house was cute and clean! Tony was super helpful and checked in on us!
Would highly recommend. South Haven is a fun little town and the cottage was perfect for our girl weekend. Tony was helpful answering questions before our stay and even checked on us when we arrived.
We loved having you young ladies stay with us and having fun. Thank you for the nice message and hope to see you all again.
The cottage was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay.
Lovely little cottage
This little blue cottage was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend a long weekend. An ideal location--Just a block away from the nearest beach, only a few blocks away from another, and within a very short driving distance to downtown South Haven. Great neighborhood on the north side of town, with good sidewalks for walking, and close to the bike trails. Our hosts live across the street and came over to greet us. The little cottage was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our time there.
Thank you very much for the wonderful message and we hope to see you again. Stay safe and healthy.
Cute and clean
We stayed for a week during the peak season of summer with our 3 children (6, 3, and 7 months). Our first impression was great! It was clean, bright, and much cuter than the pictures portray online. The bedrooms were spacious enough, with dresser and closet space for clothing (hangers included!) There's also a screened in porch area for sitting, which is a nice retreat from the bugs outside.
Within about 30 minutes of arrival, one of the owners checked in on us (just as other reviewers mentioned may happen), and went over a few rules (namely asking us not to use the comforters in the bedrooms, since they're for show only) as well as gave a few suggestions for local eateries.
The A/C worked really well (it was a warm week and we never felt overheated; in fact, a bit too cool at times, and were able to increase the temperature by a few degrees). Because the cottage is so small, the sound of the intake and blowing from the A/C is a bit on the loud side; coupled with the dehumidifier (which ran constantly) took a bit of getting used to with the extra white noise. We noticed a bit of a musty smell in the cottage (especially kitchen area), but nothing too overpowering or pungent.
The nearest beach is Oak, and it's about 1/4 of a mile, so easily within walking distance. North beach (the more popular of the options on the North side of the town) is about a mile. (I'm adding this info because it's something we look for when staying in SoHa, as we like proximity to be closer to the beaches). Restaurants and shops are less than a 5 minute drive.
Overall we had a good experience at Auntie Pat's cottage (this is the rear cottage of two on the property). The owners are welcoming and generally pleasant. I gave this property an average rating for these reasons:
1. We were explicitly asked not to utilized the comforters, which made us feel less at home.
2. The faint musty odor, although not an issue for us, could be for others.
3. Lack of toilet paper and dish soap (we had to get some from the store about halfway through our trip).
Very charming and great location
The cottage was very clean and nicely decorated. The owners were very nice. Maybe not great if you are looking for privacy, but for a girls weekend where we were in and out the whole time it was great.
