About Celesta Gingerich
We love the outdoors and traveling and have always dreamed of having a log cabin in the woods. Lee loves to hunt and Celesta loves gardening and flowers.
Celesta Gingerich purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Celesta Gingerich chose Marion Township
The rolling hills of Morgan County are so beautiful and we found this property that has a mixture of woods and pasture. It is away from so much of the commercialized vacation areas, and yet not too far to still enjoy some of the attractions that go with having a good time. The locals are friendly and we have enjoyed getting to know the neighbors and their cultures and life perspectives.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love to stay at the cabin just to get away from the daily grind and then in hunting season, there are lots of deer to chase! We are pet friendly. Please let us know you are bringing pets. There is a $40 charge per pet for the duration of the stay.
100% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 7 days before arrival date.
Peace and Quiet
We were looking for somewhere to unplug, somewhere we could have peace and quiet. That’s exactly what we found at this cabin. It’s super cute and very clean. The main bed is a little hard and they could use another air conditioner in the bedroom but overall it was great. No one bothered us, we didn’t even see another person while we were on the property. We would definitely rent this cabin again.
Peace and Quiet
Beautiful property. It was hot. Thank goodness for the AC.
Very relaxing and so glad we could take our dog. She loved that the property was fenced in!
Perfect get away for me and my dogs
I spent 5 days at the cabin with my dogs a few weeks ago. I came down to the area to do some motorcycle riding and was specifically looking for a place that was dog friendly. I was not disappointed! The cabin was great and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The property is beautiful and the surrounding area is nice and remote. It truly was a wonderful experience and what I needed on a vacation to rest and reset from the daily grind. Celesta was very quick to respond to all of my messages and that gave me the confidence that if anything came up I would be well taken care of. I look forward to staying there again in the future!
Clean, peaceful and well worth it. I cant wait to come back.
A great place to rest and relax.
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it!
32 acres of private property to hike. Wolf Creek runs along the west edge of the property. Lots of trees, birds, wild flowers, wildlife, and open pasture.
Groceries, pizza, subs, gas, etc. available in Chesterhill.
There is hiking on our property, which is 32 acres. We have trails through the woods and pastures, and a steep trail that goes down to Wolf Creek, which is our property line. Gifford State Park is only 7 miles south of our cabin, and has hiking trails. I was told there is a cave, but we have never gone there.
Numerous covered bridges cover southeastern Ohio. There is a map at the cabin with locations marked. One of them is about 2 miles from the cabin.
Wolf Creek Wildlife Area has several stocked fishing ponds, about 20 minutes from Antler Ridge. Locals tell us they have great bass and channel catfish.
Burr Oak State Park Lodge has lots of trails, and is 30 minutes away, with a scenic drive through the rolling hills to get there. There is Burr Oak Marina about 5 miles from the Burr Oak Lodge that rents pontoons, boats, canoes and kayaks.
We enjoy the quaint town of McConnelsville (20 minutes), with its 'small town' feel and lots of little shops to browse. Twin City Opera House has movies on weekends, and schedules concerts on the 3rd Sat. of each month.
Stockport Mill Inn and Restaurant (7 miles from Antler Ridge) is a restored mill right on the dam on Muskingum River. You can tour the 4 floors of charming rooms and sitting areas and the power turbine that used to grind the feed when the mill was in business. Unique, with great meals on weekends only.
The Wilds is about 40 minutes away, and very worthwhile, with wildlife tours, etc. They even have a Zipline now. You can Google many of these places before you decide.
Athens (30 minutes) is home to Ohio University, with lots of restaurants, parks, bike rentals, etc.
Marietta is about 40 minutes, right on the Ohio River.
Our cabin is not in the commercial area of Hocking Hills; we are about an hour from there. Our area is quiet, beautiful, and away from all the glamour. It is not for everyone, but we don’t know of any guests that have been disappointed.
Morgan County has a website with lots of info on things to do and see.
