About Celesta Gingerich
We love the outdoors and traveling and have always dreamed of having a log cabin in the woods. Lee loves to hunt and Celesta loves gardening and flowers.
Celesta Gingerich purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Celesta Gingerich chose Marion Township
The rolling hills of Morgan County are so beautiful and we found this property that has a mixture of woods and pasture. It is away from so much of the commercialized vacation areas, and yet not too far to still enjoy some of the attractions that go with having a good time. The locals are friendly and we have enjoyed getting to know the neighbors and their cultures and life perspectives.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love to stay at the cabin just to get away from the daily grind and then in hunting season, there are lots of deer to chase! We are pet friendly. Please let us know you are bringing pets. There is a $40 charge per pet for the duration of the stay.

Truly away from it all
We had to cancel a trip to the Smoky Mountains thanks to Covid19. But we needed a little get away to just "reset". My husband is an essential worker & has been working so many hours.
Property is exactly as described.
We rent extensively on VRBO & Trip Advisor and can honestly say this was one of the most well stocked rentals I have ever stayed in. I brought stuff of our own, just out of habit, but I didn't have to. They have literally thought of everything!
Size: This trip it was 2 adults and our large lab mix. Plenty of room for us. Only one bathroom and it only has a shower, so even though it sleeps 6, I imagine it could get tight. For us it wss perfect.
Furnishings are all very cozy and comfortable.
Our only issues were bees. It was hard to enjoy the covered front porch due to all the activity. This is not a reflection on owners as bees will be bees , just a note of caution for future travelers who may be allergic.
I love rentals that allow dogs. I used to leave my dogs at home with sitters. But as I've gotten older I prefer their company when traveling and am always looking for pet friendly accommodations. This place is a dream come true for dogs. My pup had so much fun playing country dog and exploring the property. He was exhausted every night!
My only suggestion would be a screen door on the front as there is such a lovely breeze coming through. And that's about it.
This place is remote & secluded but an easy & gorgeous drive to nearby towns!
Also, the owners are simply fantastic! Friendly & communicative.
Great place to relax and enjoy the quiet time
We enjoyed the fire pit and just time to relax
Thank you for choosing Antler Ridge. We were so impressed with how you cleaned and did the laundry, etc. We appreciate it!
Great Get Away From Covid 19
Beautiful clean cabin, with awesome hiking and outdoor activities to be safe. We enjoyed fires (they provide wood), grilling along with watching movies at night. Yes with internet.
Thanks for the kind words. Sorry we didn't get to meet you, maybe some other time! We appreciate how neat you left the cabin!
Nice cabin. Better description of property, animal s? Distance from Anthem
We thank you for choosing Antler Ridge and for leaving the cabin neat and tidy. What description would you suggest to add? We would be delighted to know what info would be helpful. Did you mean the distance to Athens? We will try to add that to our description. It’s about 30 minutes.
We are glad for your suggestions and hope to make improvements.
Ohio University Sib’s weekend
We visited our daughter at Ohio University. This property allowed us to bring our chocolate lab to visit with her, as well. Much better than some hotel room. I took the dog for a walk around the property’s trails. The snowy woods were beautiful! And she enjoyed exploring the different outdoors. Not too far out of town. Very private. Clean. Cozy. The fireplace made plenty enough heat to keep us warm on the cold nights. No cell service, but we connected to the wifi. We took our Firestick, which allowed us some TV time. Kitchen was adequately stocked for our breakfasts. The views from the porch are spectacular. We got to see the Super Full Snow Moon without city or streetlights to interfere. I can honestly not say a negative comment about our stay. Made for a very enjoyable family weekend!
32 acres of private property to hike. Wolf Creek runs along the west edge of the property. Lots of trees, birds, wild flowers, wildlife, and open pasture.
Groceries, pizza, subs, gas, etc. available in Chesterhill.
There is hiking on our property, which is 32 acres. We have trails through the woods and pastures, and a steep trail that goes down to Wolf Creek, which is our property line. Gifford State Park is only 7 miles south of our cabin, and has hiking trails. I was told there is a cave, but we have never gone there.
Numerous covered bridges cover southeastern Ohio. There is a map at the cabin with locations marked. One of them is about 2 miles from the cabin.
Wolf Creek Wildlife Area has several stocked fishing ponds, about 20 minutes from Antler Ridge. Locals tell us they have great bass and channel catfish.
Burr Oak State Park Lodge has lots of trails, and is 30 minutes away, with a scenic drive through the rolling hills to get there. There is Burr Oak Marina about 5 miles from the Burr Oak Lodge that rents pontoons, boats, canoes and kayaks.
We enjoy the quaint town of McConnelsville (20 minutes), with its 'small town' feel and lots of little shops to browse. Twin City Opera House has movies on weekends, and schedules concerts on the 3rd Sat. of each month.
Stockport Mill Inn and Restaurant (7 miles from Antler Ridge) is a restored mill right on the dam on Muskingum River. You can tour the 4 floors of charming rooms and sitting areas and the power turbine that used to grind the feed when the mill was in business. Unique, with great meals on weekends only.
The Wilds is about 40 minutes away, and very worthwhile, with wildlife tours, etc. They even have a Zipline now. You can Google many of these places before you decide.
Athens (30 minutes) is home to Ohio University, with lots of restaurants, parks, bike rentals, etc.
Marietta is about 40 minutes, right on the Ohio River.
Our cabin is not in the commercial area of Hocking Hills; we are about an hour from there. Our area is quiet, beautiful, and away from all the glamour. It is not for everyone, but we don’t know of any guests that have been disappointed.
Morgan County has a website with lots of info on things to do and see.
