Waikiki Lanais is close to all the best of Waikiki; a 5 minute stroll to the prime area of Waikiki beach (Kuhio beach, by the Duke statue), and a short stroll to the Kalakaua boardwalk and shopping, dining and the center of Waikiki.

This two bedroom, one bath suite features a king-sized bed in the master bedroom, and a full and a twin bed in the second bedroom. There is a quality pullout sofa bed in the living room if needed, so that up to seven can sleep in beds.

Your Waikiki Lanais suite has a Samsung Smart TV for streaming movies, a Blu-Ray DVD player, digital cable, Wifi/high speed internet and local (US nationwide and Canada) telephone calling. There is air conditioning, and usually nice trade wind breezes and a ceiling fan to keep you cool.

Great kitchen with gas range is fully-stocked with quality cookware and amenities. We provide everything you need for the beach, including beach towels, beach chairs, a beach parasol and boogie boards. Every detail is covered for a comfortable stay.

Great getaway with family

All 6 of us were comfortable in the condo. Pool and Jacuzzi were nice for the kids in the evening after the sun went down. Close enough to beach to walk even with beach chairs. Easy access to the freeway system. Overall great place

Nice place, parking, and laundry

The condo was great, and the kitchen was equipped with all the necessities. We LOVED having a dedicated parking spot. Also, as odd as it sounds, I loved the laundry room in the building. It was clean and very well maintained. Washer was $2/load and dryers were $1. Food Market 3 1/2 blocks away and was an easy walk. Reminder/info - bring your own grocery bag as Hawaii was ban on plastic bags.

Very comfortable

This unit was very comfortable for a family of 4 with two teen boys. Unexpected peekaboo view of the ocean was a plus and the walk to Waikiki beach was quick. Having a kitchen with adequate cooking supplies keeps the budget happy since teen boys can really tuck in their meals. The pool was small but we came here for the ocean so that is only a minor ding. Boys report the weight room was small as well, but they were pleased to get a workout in. The reserved parking was so nice as the streets around the unit are tight. The main reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is the neighborhood is a touch sketchy. We had no issues but I wouldn't walk it alone after dark. Clothing storage was a little lacking.

Wonderful location with attentive property owners.

We loved our stay and we loved our little home away from home. Our first impression was that the carpets in the hallways were a bit tired and old and the building seemed to be in a not so great neighborhood. After settling in for a few days (we were greeted by a tiny gecko in our room upon arrival) we quickly changed our tune. This was a wonderful property. The condo itself was very clean with clean sheets and towels. We only got one bath towel and one beach towel per person (there were 6 of us) for two weeks, so we had to do laundry, but the laundry facilities were very good. The people that lived in the building were all very friendly and we started to look forward to being greeted by the property manager (Brad) when we left the building in the mornings. We made use of the barbecues on the roof top and they were very clean and of good quality. The tables up there were clean and spacious also. The location was perfect, with a very short walk to the beach and all markets/stores. The pool, although small, was a wonderful bonus and the kids (who ranged in age from 17 - 19) played in it every single day and my husband and I enjoyed using the hot tub at night. We loved being up high in the condo unit and would sit outside on the spacious lanai every morning with our coffee and look at the ocean and watch the city wake up. We got very good at manipulating the fans and louvered windows, so cooling down at night became easy to do (with the help of the air conditioners in the rooms). Two of our teens slept on the pull out couch and they said it was very comfortable, and the other two teens slept in one of the bedrooms and were happy with the beds there also. We made use of the boogie boards provided (we actually spent hours on them playing in the waves) and we also took our lawn chairs to the beach. They were both wonderful additions.

We had a few requests of the owners (a late checkout request and a few other questions) and they were very accommodating and quick to respond. I already miss our home away from home and would definitely stay there again. As I said, don't let the initial impression of the hallways and elevator fool you - this is a wonderful space for a holiday and I would definitely recommend it to family and friends!

This Unit Needs HELP

I must say I will never stay here again, the couch in living room was very stained, the bedroom with the two beds in the larger bed smelled like someone had gotten sick on & the pillows and they just let me dry out could not sleep on that bed had to use the very nasty couch with very bad stains on. The bathroom shower liner had mold. I not sure how they can charge and cleaning deposit, you call this clean. The AC was another issue. I have used VRBO before and was happy BUT NOT THIS TIME.

Owner's Response: This unit is professionally cleaned on a weekly basis; there are no odors or other such issues. The sofa has been professionally cleaned. The A/C's are all new, serviced on a routine basis, and work fine. This guest came in early and we allowed her to leave her luggage while the condo was being prepared. At that point she immediately began ranting about this and that, and the condo was not even done being prepared for their stay. Unfortunately, every once in a while we'll get a guest who seemingly likes to complain and exaggerate things. If something is in need of attention we welcome guests' immediately pointing them out so we can correct it. This guest did not communicate anything to us during their stay but proceeded to leave this kind of review. We did a total remodel when we bought this property a year and a half ago and we personally make sure it is maintained at a high level for our guest's enjoyment. Will let the other reviews speak for themselves.

Not impressed with the property

Everything went totally smooth with checking in, etc. The condo property is definitely a C-. Pool is very unattractive. Carpet leading to the condo off the elevator is cheap and stained. Condo needs some work. Holes in the walls in the bathroom where the towel racks have been ripped off and then screwed back in somewhere else, etc. Little things like broken molding, cheap furniture, that all add up to a cheap motel type experience. The worst part is that the condo was poorly cleaned when we arrived. It was cleaner when we left, than when we got in. The Couch in the living room is stained almost beyond recognizing its original color of light gray. The bedding had stains on it and was quite nasty to be sleeping with. The air conditioners are sub par and they don't want you to use them because they leak on the units below. The weather was around 89-91 and still. We needed the air conditioners to survive and sleep at night.

Couple nice things about the condo were the beach chairs and umbrellas. This kept it from getting a poor rating in my book.

This was my first VRBO experience and I can say I was quite disappointed. The reviews were very high for this property and I don't think they accurately represented the condition of the property. I hope this helps future travelers

Owner's Response: Not sure where "cheap furniture" comes from, it's all new, solid hardwood imported, or Tommy Bahama style from CS Wo (Hawaii's top interior retailer, a favorite of interior designers), beds are of the highest quality, including comforter covers (periodically cleaned or replaced). Air conditioners are all new and guests can use them anytime for their comfort, especially if it's a hot day.. Beach chairs and parasol are high grade Tommy Bahama, cooler and boogie boards are also provided. This property is well maintained, and professionally cleaned for each new incoming party. Waikiki Lanais itself is meticulously maintained, including carpeting in common areas. The pool deck is soon to have a new deck surface, all lanais have been recently had spalling work done, recaulking of windows and painting of lanais; total expenditures of $1.5 million just for these areas. Resident manager is very friendly and professional, occupants are nice and it's a visitor-friendly building which all add to a nice overall experience for our guests. This is our most popular location for two bedroom condos and we take pride in offering great accommodations.
