A short walk or golf cart ride to the beach.
Enjoyed our stay, close to the beach and pool. Plenty to do in area!
We all had such a fun time. House was perfect. Beach and pool fantastic! So many things to do! Restaurants a golf cart ride away and very good. Thinking of doing this again next year. Also felt very safe in the neighborhood. Owner answered all questions promptly.
Beach Get away 2019
We absolutely love this place! The location is perfect and close to the beach. We love the amenities at Oceanside Village and the security of being in a gated community. The owners were fantastic to work with and always was very helpful. The house fit us perfectly and we all had nice rooms to sleep in. We loved the openness of the living room, dining room and kitchen. We felt right at home. We will most definitely return and stay here.
Property was clean and location was perfect
Loved staying in the beach house ! Five minute walk to the beach; if that and was near many attractions. It was clean and way more spacious then it looked in the pictures. Had a family of 9 go and 2 large dogs and there was enough room for all of us. Phyllis was very nice and quick to respond to messages and answer any question I had. Had a blast. Will def be back.
2 families with 4 kids under 4; single-wide trailer w/ additions was okay, bad experience with owner
House was clean enough although our feet were dirty after walking around and everything seemed dusty, lots of dust bunnies behind and under furniture and on the fans. Due to the layout of the house the 2.5 bathrooms is really only 1 usable bathroom (due to us being two families with small kids). At one end of the house is a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a standup shower. But the bedroom has a full-size bed so neither couple wanted to sleep in it so one of the kids did. Since our kids go to bed early and take naps this bathroom was inaccessible most of the time. On the other end of the house (with kitchen/dining/living area in between) were the 3 bedrooms and a very small full bathroom in the hall which ended up being the bathroom we all used. One of the queen bedrooms had an attached laundry room/half bath that has been added on to the house. It wasn't climate controlled, didn't have a shower, and wasn't very clean, so it was also unusable. Kitchen had very little counter space. Beach access down the street, about 5 minutes from the door to the ocean.
On the last night we lost the only key we were given. I left the owner a voicemail then sent her a text apologizing and asking what we could do to replace it. Despite my apologetic tone and making it clear that we intended to replace it, her responding texts were very unkind and downright rude. There was no one in town who had a key that we could make a copy of so we bought a new doorknob and lock and switched it out. After a week, I got an automated email from VRBO saying that our deposit had been refunded. Then I got an email from the owner demanding that we pay her the deposit back (not because of the lost key which actually would have made sense). She claimed that we left the house "in shambles". We are clean people and kept the house clean all week. Although there were no instructions anywhere regarding cleanup prior to checkout we did a basic cleanup (dishes, trash, sweeping) and left the house in good condition. She falsely claimed we didn't do any of that, that there was sand all over the house (it's a beach house, there was no vacuum, and a broom can only do so much) and then said that we should have cleaned the bathrooms, "washed" the floors, and made the beds (with unwashed bedding?). Not only are those things typically the job of a cleaning person, but they weren't communicated at any point. She was extremely rude throughout the entire exchange despite my attempts to be civil.
It is mentioned in the lease, I'm guessing they never read it. It is stated to leave the beach house as they found it , it was clean. We have a cleaning gal and she goes in every saturday, she had to get help with the cleaning after they left.
I should have received a call if it wasn't clean on the first day, they never complained until the last day that the place was not clean, after the lost key episode. I did try to get in touch with our handyman he was out of town, not my fault.
I was there 2 weeks earlier and did a deep clean of the beach house. They moved items from two of the rooms, never moved them back, really hot sure why they did that. When I replied "no refund" I did mention lost key, plus the fact left the house dirty, dirty laundry on top of the beds, left the sheets on the twin beds, they should be taken off to cleaned, sand on the furniture and floors not swept, dirty dishes, bathrooms and tub full of sand.. Table not wiped clean, etc. I also sent photos to prove how they left it. We have never had a complaint about our beach house. We have many who return. What exactly were they looking for, it's a beach house. If they didnt like the place/setup when they got there, why stay in the first place.. Shame on them for lying.
That's just bad Karma!
