Ouray, Colorado has become known as the 'Switzerland of America' because of the rugged and majestic mountaintops framing the valley in which Ouray resides. Colorful rocky precipices, thundering waterfalls, and gorgeous sunsets gracefully adorn the walls of the mountains in the summer, while snow, ice and steam emanate from them during the winter. Cascade Falls can be seen from almost any point in town and is a short ¼ mile walk from Main St and 8thAvenue. Elk, deer and mountain goat are commonly seen munching on native grasses beside the road or in the park. Chipmunks, marmots and pika are commonly heard ‘chirping’ in and around the landscape. Ouray's outdoor playground leaves noone behind when it comes to rock climbing, jeeping, trail hiking, rock-hounding, photography, shopping, swimming, fishing and just about any other adventure you can think of! If that is not enough, Ouray is home to two local, but renowned Breweries, many fine restaurants, numerous historic landmarks, detailed Victorian architecture and of course, the olympic-sized Hot Springs Pool. The incredible 'Million-Dollar Highway' begins its trek up through the unbelievable Red Mountain Pass at the base of Ouray, and leads right into adventure and photo opportunity you don't want to miss.

Fabulous Downtown Chalet!

This property is in the perfect location! Walk to everything in Ouray- including hot springs and trail heads. The unit itself is so charming and had everything we needed. Such a cool space for your mountain get away! We are hoping to return again soon!

Wonderful downtown location

  • 5 of 5

This is a high end, beautifully decorated unit. We loved staying here. The top deck provides a lovely mountain view. We used the bbq grill every night. The little market around the corner cuts the best filet mignons at a very reasonable price. Brandy has high quality linens and a well-equipped kitchen. There are a lot of stairs to climb, which may hinder some visitors. We did not mind, as we welcomed the exercise. I highly recommend this rental.

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from Ouray and our stay at the Chalet was excellent. Plenty of room and privacy for our two couples. The location is wonderful as it provides a stunning view of the area and the Ouray Brewery is just steps away. The Chalet provided all the linens we needed and the beds were comfy which is important after a day of hiking. The only addition I would recommend is a perhaps a large pyrex dish for baking casseroles and such. Would certainly recommend the Chalet for anyone who is visiting Ouray and we hope to be back soon.

Wonderful Place to Stay in Ouray

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed in this lovely home at the end of July and beginning of August and could not have been happier. The house was great for us (would only not be good if you have a hard time with stairs). The location is right in the middle of town and a short walk to almost everywhere we wanted to go. We needed to do a little work and the library with a printer was just a few steps away. I took the dogs for hikes in the morning right from the front door. The kids loved the view and their room. We used every room in the house. We had a great time in the house and in Ouray. If you are thinking of unique mountain vacation, I highly recommend it. If you are there on a Wednesday in the summer, don't miss bingo at the Elk's lodge - great fun. Also, the owner was easy to work with and very helpful. Thank you Brady!
