Beautiful spot to vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was the second year we stayed in the Elliot's beach house. It is in a perfect spot on the canal across from the Hudson Beach. There is always something going on at the beach to watch while enjoying the birds, fish, dolphins, and fishing boats on the canal and going into the Gulf. The house has everything you need to sleep, cook, and do laundry. There are many fun restaurants in the area along with a fabulous ice cream shop just down the street. We thank John and Pat for letting us enjoy their house once again.

February in Hudson

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a sunny month enjoying the warmth of Florida in this comfortable home. It had everything to make our stay pleasant with the exception of a nice outdoor grill...the one on the patio was a rusty charcoal grill purchased by a previous guest we were told. Walmart is right down the street and sells a little gas grill for $100-150. I think one would be a great addition! That being said: we found the neighbors friendly, the neighborhood quiet, the little beach nearby nice for strolling and for wonderful sunsets, shopping accessible, furniture comfortable, washer/dryer a plus. There is also Veterans Park which has great walking paths on Hicks Rd. The Hudson library is nice and has a pleasant neighborhood adjacent for walkability. Tons of restaurants everywhere. We visited Homasassa, the free and beautiful Botanical Gardens in Largo, Indian Rocks Beach, went to the state fair in Tampa, the sponge docks in Tarpon Springs. Traffic on Rt. 19 is fairly congested especially going south, so be sure to leave adequate time to reach your destination. There's a great place north in Spring Hill called Linda Pederson Park on Shoal Line Blvd which we visited twice for picnic lunches. Fishing/crabbing are on the west side of the road then on the opposite side there's a picnic area, small beach area, kids playground and we saw several manatees there. We had a great dinner on the patio in Hudson at Sam's on the Beach right across the canal. P.S. no $2 parking fee after 5pm so sunset viewings are free. Got to see some dolphins frolicking one night there. Thanks John and Pat for sharing your property.

Owner's Response: We are very happy to hear you had a good time at our Hudson Beach house. Sorry about the grille but when we first started renting the house I was advised by those more experienced in the vacation rental biz that we shouldn't leave a gas grille or a canoe/kayak at the property for liability reasons. Perhaps its time to re-visit that with our insurance agent. Sounds like you definitely soaked up the local flavor including the State Fair and Sponge Docks! You are most definitely welcome back anytime!

Memorial Day Weekend 2016

  • 5 of 5

We use to live in the area some years ago. So we thought it would be a great idea to rent a home and have friends and family come to us. It was the best experince ever!!! We really loved the view from the back lania, the kids had their own space and we were able to bring our dogs!!! John & Pat are the nicest people we have met in a while. So friendly, funny and very welcoming. Would love to stay again!!!

We were excited about the property the minute we walked in and immediately asked if we could book for next year. The house is bright and open and easy to maintain. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need. It's such a nice convenience to have the washer and dryer. The area is quiet but close enough to the public beach, restaurants, and grocery stores that it was easy to find our way around and visit the sites we wanted. Just to walk around the canals and see the beautiful homes was fun. Our Pekingese loved the fenced in yard and the ducks that frequented the area. Our first day the dolphins came through the canal and I had one jump up and look me in the face. A very relaxing ,to say the least, and we can't wait until next year! Thank you to John and Pat for sharing your beach house!

Well kept and clean

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for a few days. The house was clean and well kept. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors were very friendly. We had a great time. The kids enjoyed fishing in the backyard. We went to Pine Island beach which is about 35 minutes away, Weeki Wachee river was 40 minutes and Rainbow spring about an 1hr 30 mins from the house. The owner was very helpful in orienting us to the area. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing time this is definitely your place. I will surely recommend this property.

Nice location spot!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. It was very clean and neat and had plenty of room for all of us. The washer and dryer saved us from having to waste valuable vacation time at the laundromat. There was a problem with the air conditioning one day, but it was promptly taken care of the same day we called. We had good communication with the owners throughout the whole process. It is close to shopping, restaurants, and Hudson Beach as well as Sunwest Beach. Our little grandson especially loved helping feed the ducks and birds in the water. We would definitely consider staying at this home again.
