The Hideaway **Cozy New Home/Cabin Tucked Away in the Mountains**

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 6 Sleeps

NOTE: Due to the steepness of the gravel driveway to the house, you need a 4 WD or rear-wheel drive vehicle to get back up the driveway. If you desire, you can park at the top of the driveway which is ~ 800 feet from the house and walk.

If you are looking for a get away in the middle of the woods with the amenities of a new house, then this is the place for you. Add in a great view and hiking outside your front door, The Hideaway makes for a great stay for anybody looking to get away from the city for awhile and relax. With aerial views of the Blue Ridge Mountains up to 50 miles, you can view multiple mountain ranges and peaks from the back deck including Mount Mitchell to the north and Grandfather Mountain to the northeast. Also, only 30-45 minutes from Asheville, Black Mountain, and Hendersonville, shopping, dining, and nightlife are not far away. The town of Chimney Rock (shopping), Chimney Rock State Park (hiking), and Lake Lure (swimming/boating), are located 15-20 minutes away. For reference, The Hideaway is an approximate 30 minute drive from I-40 (via Hwy 9) and I-26 (via Hwy 64).

Situated at ~ 3,200 feet above sea level, The Hideaway was built in 2013 and is a cabin/modern home best suited for couples and small families. Making the most out of 1,050 sq ft, the cabin has 3 bedrooms (two gueen beds and 1 full bed), a living room, a full kitchen, and a dining area. The two queen bedrooms are upstairs and share a full bathroom with shower. The full bedroom is the smallest and located downstairs next to a full bathroom with shower. There is a wrap around deck that goes from the front of the house and around the side to a large deck on the back of the house. Sit on the back deck in the Adirondack chairs, go for a hike, or watch cable satellite TV, all are possible during your stay. The house is located on a 5-acre wooded lot within an undeveloped subdivision. Surrounding the property are hundreds of acres of forest and over a mile of dirt roads/trails (shared by all subdivision property owners) on which to hike and enjoy the outdoors. Birdwatchers will definitely want to bring their binoculars as you never know what you may see. A snowy owl, a rare migrant to southern forests, was observed Thanksgiving weekend 2013 off the back deck.

There is not a telephone at the house so you will need a cell phone. I know Verizon cell phones work good, but I am not sure about other carriers. Also, the house is not wired for internet (does not have WiFi) so your mobile device must be capable of a wireless signal connection to access the internet.

No pets are allowed. Please make sure you review the entire rental agreement prior to booking.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I will be sure to add more trash cans in the house. There is the one under the kitchen sink but I will put some in the bathrooms as well. Thanks for letting me know. Hope you can return soon.

Truly "The Hideaway"

  • 5 of 5

The Hideaway was truly amazing for our weekend getaway. You do not know what to expect as you are hiking down the driveway but once you see the home and view it is very breathtaking.

I loved how the home had the cabin look and feel on the outside but very modern on the inside.

We will definitely stay here whenever we visit the mountains again. The home was perfect and had all of the amenities that you could think of.

Thank you again William for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home.

Teachers on Spring Break! Loved The Hideaway Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying in the cabin. The view of the mountains was incredible. We had everything we needed and loved visiting Black Mountain, The Cove, Chimney Rock, Asheville, DuPont Falls and Lake Lure. We loved the secluded drive to the cabin and cabin was very clean. Loved Everything! Can't wait till the next time!

Simply Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Peaceful. Breathtaking views. No photograph could do it justice. Watching thunderstorms was my favorite part!

We rented having no idea what was nearby, just decided to wing it. Once we found Chimney Rock we spent most of one day there. I "surprised" my kids with the fact that there was no wifi (I knew, just didn't tell them), and they all survived! Many memories made during our stay, that's for sure.

Definitely heed the requirement of 4WD/Rear WD vehicle requirements. I can't imagine trying to access the driveway without it. The Hideaway was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen had all the pots/pans/utensils we needed to cook whetever we imagined. We did not use the firepit, but I could definitely see it being enjoyable in cooler weather.

Awesome views in a quiet setting

  • 5 of 5

Nice & quiet. Beautiful view of mtns. that were snow capped. Gorgeous sunrise & sunsets -lots of stars out at night. Great place to relax! The driveway wasn't any problem for us in our Jeep.

(didn't even need to use 4W drive) Do agree that you need a couple of lamps in the bedroom to read at night. Cabin was well stocked & clean.

Perfect place to get away and Disconnect

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at The Hideaway in the beginning of December and had a great time. The views from the deck were amazing, the home is out in what feels like the middle of the woods, without a neighbor to be seen or heard. One morning we were able to watch the sun rise over the mountains, which was an event that no picture could do justice.. While we were not able to use the fire pit (NC burn ban in effect) the indoor fireplace made for a very nice substitute and allowed us to sit by the fire while enjoying the views out of the window across the back of the house.

Overall this place was everything I could ask for and a perfect place to go to get away from the chaos of life and disconnect and is a place I will definitely stay again.

Wonderful Autumn Stay At The Hideaway

  • 4 of 5

The view is fabulous and "The Hideaway" is tucked away in the beautiful woods of WNC. We especially loved the campfire area as the weather was perfect for sitting out and listening to the leaves blowing off of the trees. We enjoyed wonderful hikes in Montreat and Chimney Rock. The only things I would change are tiny. I would add curtains to the windows -- I know there's no one for miles and I would add a lamp by the bedside. Otherwise William's place is perfect for a nice getaway! William is very easy to be in touch with also. Thank you!
