Cutest cottage ever!

  • 4 of 5

We loved this cottage. We had a group of 6 and we all slept comfortably. The only issue we had was the second night where we were unaware that there was a strict quiet time starting at 10 pm on sundays. So don't step outside or leave your windows open after then because you will get grilled. Other than that, we had a ton of fun! The Mt. Gretna Hideaway had great food and was an overall good time.

Very Nice Immaculate Cottage in a Lovely Community

  • 4 of 5

We were looking to rent a property at a good location that would be relatively close to Hershey and the beautiful Amish countryside in Lancaster County. After doing a lot of research, we found this cute adorable home in a very friendly community. The house was very cute and you could definitely tell that the owners have done a great job in keeping it immaculate with some very nice updates.

As an observation, the wood steps going to the bedrooms on the second floor are steep and narrow and we felt that this was an issue for our family as we have young children. The hallway upstairs is also narrow so there has to be caution when walking close to the stairs specially, young children and the elderly.

The community is lovely and there are some few restaurants walking distance. If you need groceries or a pharmacy, you might need to drive out of the area to find a convenience store.

We enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

Initially, we were concerned with the size of the house, but we settled in nicely and enjoyed our week there.

The staircase was rather steep and the stairs narrow, especially for the small children. We were cautious about the stairs the whole week.

We absolutely loved the Mt. Gretna neighborhood. We loved walking the neighborhood and everyone was so friendly.

Great location. Great house!

  • 4 of 5

We had a very nice time! Bathrooms and kitchen were especially nice. The location was perfect and the little neighborhood (and neighbors) were great! Walk on distance to a pizza shop and restaurant "The hideaway" and so much more! The home internet was fast and reliable. The porch furniture and porch were great and my favorite part of our stay.

Couple of small things were weren't so charmed with. The bathroom doors do not latch or lock. We didn't have any children with us so this wasn't a huge issue but it was a little uncomfortable to go to the bathroom while people are in the kitchen cooking.

The floors and walls are very thin so you can hear (and see in some places) every single thing your roommates are doing.

There is no smoking in the house and porch (which is perfectly understandable) but there is no overhang or place to sit for smokers if it rains.

These are very minor issues but notable in their own way for some guests.

-- thanks for a great stay!

Rustic and charming getaway with friends.

  • 5 of 5

My wife, our friends and I rented this modern and rustic cottage in the heart of Mt. Gretna. The decor was a mix of vintage and modern and we loved the updated kitchen and living room. We had just enough space for the four of us. One of our days was like a spring day and we were able to spend some time out on the porch with ample seating space. The town is charming and we would definitely go back!
