Charming little town and house

  • 5 of 5

This is a super cute little house! It's was comfy and clean. It is little, built before standards for construction for sure but it was easily able to accomodate our big family for the weekend. So that didn't bother us. The kitchen is very nicely redone, and the home had several touches reminisce of the time period back when it was truly lived in. The town is small on a similar scale- the roads are but large sidewalks! Most homes are tucked together very closely and have front porches and Tiffany lamps and it is very charming and beautiful tucked away in the woods in an almost unbelievable way. The heat is electric baseboard and the main floor unit needs repair fyi. Also, could use a new fry pan and the bedroom with the trundles could also use some shades since the street lamp shines quite brightly in there. John and Jacy were helpful and gave us advice on navigating with our big suburban and trailer! Thank you for a nice stay!

Clean, comfortable, & fun!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for three nights for the Hershey Car show. The house is well appointed with lots of room to relax. The upstairs bathroom is updated as is the kitchen. Time and effort went into decorating this cottage with antique touches (I especially liked the old games on the walls upstairs) but with comfortable chairs in the living room. After being away all day it was nice to come home to. There is a regular coffee maker in the kitchen as well as a K-cup so you can bring either kind of coffee. We cooked breakfast here and had everything we needed to prepare it. There were plenty of sheets and towels for bed and bath. I'd love to stay again.

Cutest cottage ever!

  • 4 of 5

We loved this cottage. We had a group of 6 and we all slept comfortably. The only issue we had was the second night where we were unaware that there was a strict quiet time starting at 10 pm on sundays. So don't step outside or leave your windows open after then because you will get grilled. Other than that, we had a ton of fun! The Mt. Gretna Hideaway had great food and was an overall good time.

Very Nice Immaculate Cottage in a Lovely Community

  • 4 of 5

We were looking to rent a property at a good location that would be relatively close to Hershey and the beautiful Amish countryside in Lancaster County. After doing a lot of research, we found this cute adorable home in a very friendly community. The house was very cute and you could definitely tell that the owners have done a great job in keeping it immaculate with some very nice updates.

As an observation, the wood steps going to the bedrooms on the second floor are steep and narrow and we felt that this was an issue for our family as we have young children. The hallway upstairs is also narrow so there has to be caution when walking close to the stairs specially, young children and the elderly.

The community is lovely and there are some few restaurants walking distance. If you need groceries or a pharmacy, you might need to drive out of the area to find a convenience store.
