Your Vacation in a real Log Cabin! This is a very spacious log cabin with all the comforts of home! It is located on a paved road but yet seems hidden away in the forest. This log home has a bedroom on every floor with three floors to explore. Two full baths on the top two floors.A very large walkaround deck is located on the front and a smaller one to the side below. The cabin is located in the middle of trout central yet golfing is just next door.
The town of Burnsville is 30 mins. away if you want to shop or get a bite to eat. All within an hours drive is Asheville, Biltmore Estates, Grandfathers mtn, Linville Falls and many more.
We have been serving the Burnsville area with vacation rentals since 2007.
Neil Clay purchased this cabin in 2006
Stayed for our second time this past Christmas, it's a wonderful log home, fireplace is excellent and keeps the place very cozy. Home is nicely spread out with two bedrooms upstairs, one on the main floor and two twins in the walk out basement. Views are beautiful, love to small town of Burnsville. Pet friendly, our chihuahua loved the fenced yard. Very clean and well appointed. Will def stay again and recommend to others.
This property was very authentic and had anything you need! I would defanitly stay again!!!
We stayed for 4 days, 3 nights. We had everything we needed in the cabin (that we forgot to pack) from laundry soap to a wine cork and stopper. It was very clean when we arrived. We brought our two dogs and they had a blast. The cabin is nearby to a waterfall that is only a short hike from the parking area and provided lots of entertainment for my family. The community that the cabin is in was very quiet and comfortable. We will definitely look this cabin up again if we go to stay in the mountains again.
Location was just what we wanted, heavy wooded and close to the BR Parkway. Also great if you have pets, downstairs has tile floor and two large kennel cages for dogs. Backyard is fenced for pet safety. Loved the super large deck and BBQ grill. If you wish to eat out for lunch, the restaurant at the summit of Mt. Mitchell has the best trout we've had anywhere! Otherwise, the Little Switzerland area offers dinner at the Mountain View which as the name says has views of the Blue Ridge Mountains making a wonderful setting for dinner at sunset. Try the Angry Shrimp or the Flat Iron Steak, we can recommend both entrees.
The cleaning crew could do a better job on floors and general cleaning. We left the cabin cleaner than it was when we arrived. Overall our stay was very enjoyable and we definitely would stay again. Thanks to the owner for the opportunity to stay in a fantastic location.
The cabin itself was great, big and homey and has lots of trees so you don't feel surrounded by people. When we got there the cabin was filthy, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. We had to clean counters, windowsills, mop, sweep etc. The coffee pot still had an old moldy coffee filter inside so as we were staying a week we needed to clean it, and all cups/plates had to be thoroughly cleaned before being used as well as the BBQ. The basement room was the dirtiest, couches smelled like animal urine, I personally only sat on the leather recliner . Beds in basement and in top floor room had dog hair all over them. There is no back yard, yes fenced in, but just a big hill where you really can't do anything. The back yard didn't bother us too much as one of our dogs is old and mainly just enjoyed the back porch, but would have been nice for our other dog to get to work out some energy. The cabin itself is nice, main floor is an open floor plan, more carpet than I would have liked (main floor and basement have no carpet). The cabin itself was very nice, we were counting the days to leave the stench from that basement though. If the owners kept up with the cleanliness this would be an awesome cabin.
Despite our best efforts we arrived shortly after dark on the day prior to Thanksgiving. When we arrived to our surprise the cabin was nice and toasty and the fireplace was ready to have fire, all we had to do is supply the spark.
This is a wonderful place and we would highly recommend it to anyone considering staying a cabin in this area. The golf course which was closed for the winter is within walking distance and at night you can hear the creek that runs along side the golf course. Lucky for us it snowed all day Thanksgiving and the area was even more beautiful than we expected. The cabin has a downstairs with one bedroom and bathroom just outside. The basement has large room with a TV and two single beds, this is were we put the two children (10 and 11). The upstairs has one bedroom with a double bed and the loft with two single beds. There is a bathroom with shower between the loft and bedroom. The shower is kind of small, but worked fine for our group. The backyard is fenced if you plan on bringing a pet. If I had a complaint it's that address not visible after dark.
We will certainly consider returning in the Spring or Summer when the golf is open and I would certainly recommend it to anyone considering a cabin in this area.
