Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, 10 Sleeps
Why Alecia Hasselbeck chose Chalet Village
I searched for almost a year to find the perfect property for my family. Being between Gatlinburg and Pigeon forge you can get anywhere fast but at the cabin, you feel secluded. It really is the best of both worlds!
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
We arrived with no check in issues.
The owner contacted us and said that someone would be there to change out the rotting picnic table, no one ever came.
The house had cob webs through out the house.
The hot tub was nasty, no chlorine tablets, water smelled moldy, owner was notified, they said someone would be down to add the chlorine, no one ever showed.
The game room had 3-4 broken cue sticks for the pool table.
We had no idea as to where the "resort" pool was located, no map or directions.
The cabin is a little out dated for the price.
If this would have been our 1st cabin rental, we would be turned off to future renting.
Definitely not worth what we paid for!
I am so sorry you had this experience. Every one of these has been addressed since you were there. I was not aware pool stocks being broken or the cob webs during your stay but addressed that as soon as I became aware. I’m truely sorry for your experience.
Property worn and dated
The all wood, log cabin showed a lot of wear. The deck and outside picnic table and chairs need cleaning and repair. The deck needs to be stained. The interior furniture was dated, worn and appeared dirty, as did the carpet in the basement and all the rugs throughout the cabin. The area by the baseboards was dirty, there was dirt and trash under the couches and chairs, area next to fireplace was dirty. Nails sticking up on the deck, several boards seemed loose. Pool table cover was stained. Bathroom toilets, sinks and showers did appear clean. Embarrassed for the guests we brought to the cabin.
Stayed for three nights with my parents, husband, and two kids. Nice sleeping arrangements with privacy. The downstairs bathroom would definitely be a con (really awful shower head, moldy trim, lack of hooks or towel bars- inconvenient considering this is the hot tub level). Kids really liked the downstairs though with the pool table and games. Owner was responsive. We had planned to grill out (bring your own charcoal) but the grill was rusted out. She had one delivered the next morning and had the main level shower fixed for us too that wasn't working at check in. It's great that it is less than 15 minutes to the park, but the mountain road is treacherous. We will not miss that drive and that drive is the main reason we would try a lower elevation next time.
It was amazing
We have a lot of fun. It was awesome!
nice cabin, but really dangerous to get to.
The cabin was nice and cozy. I felt it was a too much risk going up the mountain. Specially driving with kids in the car. The driveway needs repairs. my car was slipping just to park in the driveway. I end up renting another cabin on my arrival date. You defenitly a 4x4..
Great chalet - enjoyable stay
We enjoyed our week at the chalet. There was plenty of space for 3 adults and 3 young children. I think it would be amazing for a family with teenagers, especially if the kids wanted to spend a bit of time in the den downstairs. The hot tub was a fabulous addition, and our kids enjoyed the big bath in the master bedroom. The kitchen is on the small side and doesn't have too much storage area for dry food, but we could easily get by. The dining table is also cozy, which was fine for us because we are all petite, but may be on the small side for some. Alecia was great with communications, and I was made aware that she was going to check the property after our stay, and would do any required updates. It was nice to be asked for feedback from the property owner :) There were plenty of towels and also extra blankets for cold nights. The pool table and arcade games were fun. I had planned on using the associated gym but didn't know where to find it so stuck with road/trail running, which was more enjoyable. We were lucky enough to see one bear about 400ft from the property, just before she hibernated :)
~Thanks Alecia for a GREAT stay and for all your help!
Please beware that the property is up in the mountains and if inclement weather came in (snow or ice), it could be tricky to get back down the mountain for groceries etc. It's worth packing extra food, medication etc if the weather looks like snow/ice is due. There are also lots of trees falling, so drive slowly in the mountains just in case.
