House, 6 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, 16 Sleeps
About Loren Boe
We have been coming to the lake for 50 years. Bought here in the 1970's with parents. Later we found this incredible lake view property. It had a small cabin but we bought it for the views. Then we remodeled the home and created a 5000 sq foot estate with garages, lots of parking, deer fencing and an electric gate for your privacy.
Loren Boe purchased this House in 1997
Why Loren Boe chose Paso Robles
We don't have the HOA rules that many lake homes have in the clustered near by communities. Thus we can park many cars, RV's. Our views are awesome and the deck is large. The home is very spacious and the kitchen is huge. We have private dock in a 5mph zone
What makes this House unique
12 Acres, fenced, gated, no home owners association with vehicle and guest limits of 16 Private dock in a 5mph zone and huge kitchen for entertaining. Outdoor BBQ area with gas, wood burning and smoker.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Easy check-in, responsive hosts, beautiful lake, enough room for eight adults and five kids. Our second visit was great. Thank you!
Thank you for coming back and we hope to see you again! We have some return guests that have been staying in either of our two homes for over eight years. We try hard to make everyone's stay memorable but we honor everyone's privacy.
This spacious place was perfect for our extended family
This home is a great place for a Christmas family get together. The kitchen is amazing and plenty of space for 16 to dine together. The kids really appreciated the indoor games and since the weather was good, hiking to the lake was easy and relaxing. My 3 year old grandson wants to go back to the "mountain house".
So glad your family enjoyed our home. We look forward to your return trip
Great place for family get-together
We had a wonderful time here. The house was perfect for our group of 13 adults and 2 toddlers. We listened to what others had said about the place and went grocery shopping on our way to PR; then cooked fabulous meals while we were there. The kitchen and outdoor cooking area had everything we needed and plenty of space for multiple cooks. One of our best meals was prepared on the wood stove outside... it was fantastic!
Cynthia was extremely responsive to everything we needed.
The lake was a bit disappointing and we were unable to make it down to the dock with the toddlers... kind of a treacherous path to navigate while carrying a child. The nearby beach was OK but the water was really murky and since we were there in the middle of a heat wave (100+ every day) we couldn't really sit on the beach (no shade). That's not a criticism of the house, just something for others to be prepared for.
We have never had anyone complain about the location of the dock before because I think most people who have rented from us are familiar with Lake Nacimiento and California lakes and how the lake level goes up and down every year. Thus the walk down a hill is always expected and sometimes it is shorter when the lake level is higher. We have two grandchildren who are 5 & 7 and family who have walked up and down that hill for decades with no issues at all carrying their babies. We locate the dock at this area to be in the cleaner deeper water and in a nice 5mph zone for added safety. The other location that has flatter beaches is therefore shallow to create a flat beach but the water is not as clear and also because the fast boats churn up the shores since it is not in a 5mph zone. I have added a photo that shows the lake level at 26% showing that dock area for future renters to see. That beach is usually full of cars on weekends with all the people walking down that same hill to their docks where we all have an easement to keep our docks. We have many repeat renters who have been coming for over ten years since we started renting and providing a dock at this location.
Very nice place
The best part of this rental is the access to Lake Nacimiento and the use of kayaks and a rowboat. Also the kitchen is large and well equipped for use by an extended family with several cooks. The dining table seats eight easily, and two more chairs can be squeezed in. The only real problem is the remoteness of the property since it is about an hour's drive from Paso Robles on winding, narrow roads.
Most people come to our home to get away from the busy cities. They bring all the food and drinks that they need. There is fishing, eagle and other bird watching, deer, pigs and lots of other wildlife to see that you could not see if you were closer to the cities. Then you can drive just 30 minutes to Justin Winery to if youy want to take a break from the lake activities. There are many more wineries near Justin too.
Enjoyed the incredible views from the backyard deck, especially watching the sunrises with my family while sipping on coffee and hot chocolate!
Wonderful place to gather family for a great time
We came with food, wine and boat to keep us happy for a long weekend. The outdoor kitchen was a great place, we cooked there every night for between 10 and 15 as some were still working and could not stay the entire time. We launched a ski boat and went every day for rides, ski and just happy time on the water. Being able to tie up the boat at the dock and not worry about it was fabulous.
The only thing I would change is the light switch in one of the lower bedrooms. It has a motion sensing switch that turns on when someone moves near the entrance, which happens at night if you get up to use the bathroom, and the room becomes light as day, causing a rush to turn it off.
We had a wonderful time and hope to repeat it in future years.
Thank you for your review. The light switch has been changed out for a manual switch. We had tried to make things more automated but it doesn’t work for that room.
Wine testing, boating on the lake, biking, wildlife, eagle watching, shopping in Paso Robles, Hearst Castle, Cayucos Beach and more wine tasting.
