Labor Day

  • 3 of 5

We had a nice stay over the Labor Day weekend. We did not spend much time in the Cottage because we wanted to get out and see what Oshkosh had to offer. We had a great experience at the EAA Museum. A must see if in the area. My son got to go up with a pilot that day for a tutorial, and first flight experience. They call It " Young Eagles". This was an extra bonus to the museum visit. We also went to Rib Fest and spent some time there as well. The cottage location is good. The place was just right for us and our small dog. She made herself at home. The neighbors were nice and just an all around good visit. Thanks for the hospitality.

Accommodating and Peaceful

  • 3 of 5

First we would like to thank Bryan and Cara Larson for allowing us the opportunity to stay in their cottage.

The location was perfect for the many great experiences we were able to have together.

We could not have been able to do all that we did and pay for a hotel and eating out for meals. It was nice to get a full day of fun in and then have the ability to come back to the cottage and whip out some cookware and the dining set made available at the cottage and have a home cooked meal together.

We had some difficulty with the low seating arrangements and the type of bed but being older and having some back and hip issues can make this a problem for us even at home sometimes. If we had the opportunity again we would need to bring some aides for ourselves with regard to that.

We also enjoyed our evening walks in the neighborhood surrounding the cottage.

Thank you both again for the experiences we had while we were there.

This modest, cozy and relaxing cottage (small living space) became our home away from home during our family vacation in March/April (7 days). We enjoyed our stay because this home offered us the privacy and space that is not offered at any nearby hotel. We stayed there with our 13 YO and 4 YO boys, who enjoyed the place like if they were at home. It has a very nice backyard for the kids and for entertaining friends and relatives, with the beauty of nature (wild rabbits, ducks, birds, and squirrels). The location is very peaceful, private and conveniently close to everything as described. It is a modest place, so do not expect luxury accomodations. However, the owners do provide detergent, dishwashing soap, cleaning supplies, linens... (the essentials) that make if very convenient for long stays, everything we needed to keep things clean and nice like at home. This home offers a simple stay, so that means no internet, which we did bring our own hotspot to get some online school work done. The owners were very pleasant to work with and made our experience nice. Thank you for sharing your home, we will stay again when we make another family visit!

Small, quiet, met our needs

  • 4 of 5

Small house but perfect for 2 of us. The cottage was neat, clean and stocked. We were surprised at how powerful the small window air conditioner unit was. The washer and dryer worked great. Quiet neighborhood. Close to beach, shopping, and expressway. I would stay again if we needed a place in the Oshkosh area. My only suggestions would be to fix the screen door (kept popping open) and get a full length rectangular mirror for the master bedroom to hang by the window or closet. There was a small hand held mirror and a mirror in the bathroom over the sink, but a full length mirror would have been nice. The non alcoholic bubbly on the table when you walk in was a nice touch. The owners were easy and nice to work with. Thank you for letting us stay in your home.

Small place quiet street

  • 3 of 5

It was what we expected, a small house on a quiet street. The neighbors we met were all very friendly and everything was operational in the house. There's a hornets nest under the eaves in the backyard. I was stung in the ear, it ruled out relaxing in the back. 4 stars without the bees

Owner's Response: Sorry about your pain. I will refill the attractant for the bee trap. I am glad you enjoyed the rest of your stay at Cardiff Cottage!
