The stay was great. Exactly as advertised.
My family of four with a 4- and a 8-year old stayed for three nights.
Our kids entertained themselves in the lofts, playing animal rescue and "bungee jumping" their stuffed animals. Swam off the dock, and sat by a campfire one night. Didn't get a chance to rent a canoe though. Grilled dinner a couple of evenings. Downtown Hayward is within walking distance. The nearby go-karts looked closed for the season, in mid September. Landlords were responsive and helpful. All in all, it lived up to expectations.
Gorgeous and conveniently located!
We had a wonderful time in Hayward! The cabin was gorgeous and immaculate when we arrived. Beautiful view of the lake, and felt like we were out in the middle of the woods somewhere once we got inside, even though we were indeed right in town! Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. We tried several of the local restaurants and didn't have a bad meal anywhere. We also drove another hour and a half north to kayak in Lake Superior at Red Cliff... So pretty and not a bad drive! One thing I will suggest, bring along a few board games and DVDs if there's going to be any rain while you're there. The TV doesn't get any channels, but there is a DVD player! We had luckily brought along a few games so when it stormed one night /morning we had something to do. Overall, a wonderful vacation, and we would not hesitate to stay here again! ❤️
Thanks for the suggestions! We will definitely work on getting some more games there.
Great Cabin - Great experience!
We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is close enough to town so you can walk into main street and still enjoy a comfortable, quiet cabin experience. The cabin was clean and well maintained and we enjoyed the solitude and the nice campfire at night too! The only thing that would make this quaint place even better would be Internet access! But for those who don't want access and to be forced to unhook from technology, this is the place for you! :)
We had a great time at this cabin. It was close to everything. We fished off the dock and caught little sunnies, went horseback riding, canoed, go carting and shopped along Main Street.
Very clean well maintained cabin!
The cabin was great! It's in a great location, easy walk to the restaurants and shops downtown. If you're a biker or runner, there's a path right out the back door that goes for miles! Be careful if you bring a pontoon or large boat. The cabin is situated between a low sitting bridge and a dam. If the water levels are high, you won't get it under the bridge. A fishing boat or anything that sits low on the water would be fine.
A very quaint, and yet roomy cabin, located close to all the local amenities.
My husband, myself, and our kids, age 18 and 16 all thought the property was wonderful. We had plenty of room within the cabin and its location was in walking distance to downtown. And yet, when we sat on the dock of the property, amongst the trees, we felt like we were miles away from anyone. It was the perfect vacation location.
