The Comstock Cottage is a wonderfully renovated, quintessential island cottage in a perfect location just a half block from the beach and short walk from the ferry. The classic natural wood beadboard is as soothing as the foghorns you might hear in the evening. You may not want to leave the delightful, shady, wide front porch. Or you may want to sunbathe, then you'll be drawn to the sunny back deck or the beach.

The island has almost hourly ferry service from Portland taking less than 20 minutes (check out cascobaylines website for more info). There's a full service grocery on the island open 8-8, 7 days/week.

Master bedroom with queen sized bed, second bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a smaller third bedroom with twin bunk beds. All the bedrooms are on the second floor. Two full baths with showers.

The house has a large, well equipped kitchen and large dining room which make entertaining easy. A gas grill is available.

Come stay at the Comstock Cottage where you'll create cherished memories with family and friends.

7 night minimum through Labor Day weekend, 4 night minimum after Labor Day weekend. Sorry no pets or smoking allowed. Linens are available, wash, dry and fold is required before check out.

Wonderful home in a perfect location!

Our stay at Comstock Cottage was truly one of the best our family has experienced. The house was immaculate when we arrived, well equipped, and spacious. Truly the pictures do not do this vacation rental justice as it is really quite a gem. We enjoyed spending time together, playing board games, reading, strolling to the store for our evening ice cream ritual and just generally being away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life. The bike shop is near by as are options for golf cart rentals. You are close to what you need, but far enough away to enjoy a little tranquility. We were not at all disappointed in our stay. It was just lovely! Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage - perfect for our young family.

Our family of five had a great time at Comstock Cottage. The porch and yard were great for our young kids, where they could be outside by themselves and safe. We sat at the table on the front porch every morning for breakfast, and enjoyed watching the kids playing in the yard. The kids bunk beds were just right, and we could also fit a pack-n-play in the kids bedroom. The queen sized beds were particularly comfortable and there were plenty of sheets and towels for all of us. The house was also very clean. We were a good location to walk or bike to the store and the cafe, Centennial beach, and the playground across the street. We had a lovely stay!

A truly quaint Maine island cottage

The cottage was a wonderful way to enjoy our time on Peaks Island. Very well located. A comfortable walk to the ferry and stores but on a quiet street. A two minute walk to the beach to view the sunsets. We highly recommend a stay if quiet relaxation is the goal.

Perfect Fit for Family and Friends

I stayed at Comstock Cottage with friends and family in March 2016 and we could not have had a better time. The house was immaculate and comfortable, tastefully decorated and full of character. The kitchen had all the necessary amenities we needed to prepare some fantastic meals of fresh Maine seafood and other goodies. The centerpiece of the house is the roomy, inviting dining table. With more than enough chairs in the house to seat everyone who came by, we were able to dine and visit comfortably or just sit around and play games (we brought some of our own but the house is well stocked!). You can take your coffee or tea in the relaxed sitting area off the kitchen or head up stairs to the snug, wee enclosed porch (it was plenty warm enough in March even when snowing!). With the beach only minutes away by foot, the school playground across the street and the big yard, this is a great property for kids, too! The hosts have gone out of their way to make this house a home and to make guests feel welcomed there.

Loved our week here!

Four of us loved our week in this spacious, homey cottage on the island. There were plenty of areas to be alone, and plenty to be together. The kitchen is big, bright and well equipped, with essential appliances like a dishwasher, and we liked having breakfast in the sunroom. The porch and deck provide lovely reading spots. The house has numerous board games, which we enjoyed every night. I would highly recommend this home, which has easy access to island amenities. We had a wonderful time.

Location

We fell in love with Peaks Island when we went over for our friend's wedding. Besides the island, we fell in love with this house because of it's wonderful, large front porch and it's location less than a city block from Centennial beach. While renovating we discovered the beautiful beadboard that we've since completely restored. We liked it has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths so we can easily host our family and friends. And we appreciate the house sits on two lots giving us more space in the yard and is quiet. We also like that it has a dining room that easily accommodates six.

If you enjoy walking or bicycling you'll love Peaks Island. In addition to the wonderful ocean views, there is little car traffic on the Island so on the backshore bikers and walkers tend to outnumber the cars. There are three restaurants on the Island, Peaks cafe for coffee, breakfast and lunch, a full service grocery open 7 days week, a public beach, live lobsters for sale, golf cart rentals (for touring around if you're not the walking or biking sort.)

Portland is another attraction. It's a beautiful sight to look at at night, and a wonderful place to explore day or night as well.

Our favorite things to do are walking the beach (a half block away), doing the back shore loop, enjoying a book or glass of wine in the shade of the porch, and enjoying dinner while taking in the views of Casco Bay from the deck at the Cockeyed Gull.

Portland is very accessible from the ferry terminal and a gem of a city. It's a foodies and art lovers paradise.

Peaks Island gives you island peacefulness and Portland's urban culture. A winning combination!

The extra large lot is great for yard games and kids to play. The elementary school playground, empty in the summer, is almost across the street. It's a popular choice for children and parents alike. I said it above, but we really like that we can easily stroll to the beach to take in a sunset or a walk on the beach without having to walk far to get there.
