We had a great time st the river house. Thanks!
House and property were great. River and lake are very high right now. I would stay here again if the opportunity allows in the future.
This was our first VRBO experience and it couldn't have gone smoother or been more enjoyable. Our host was very friendly and responsive when we tried to get in touch with her. We didn't need any extras while we were there because the home was well appointed with everything we needed. It's in a fantastic location that keeps you close to anything you may be interested in seeing in Muskegon, but it offers a serene setting with beautiful views from every area of the home. It's an absolutely ideal rental if you bring a small fishing boat. It's perfect for families with pets or people traveling for business.
Beautiful view from both decks
Although the weather did not completely cooperate during half of our stay (raining), we had a relaxing several days at the River House. The house has everything you need…and the living room & master bedroom are larger than we expected. Enjoyed the river view while sitting on the second floor deck, reading, and listening/watching the various birds. You can hear traffic from the causeway, but even on the holiday weekend, it wasn’t very loud! Thankfully we were able to bring our dogs to the River House and they enjoyed the backyard, which also had a wonderful view of the river. We do not own a boat, but I’m sure boat owners would really appreciate access to the water. We expected a lot of noise from the launch; however, we rarely heard anything from the people launching their boats. The location is perfect for day trips to places like Holland and Grand Haven. Only downside was having to carry everything up a flight of stairs, but I would definitely recommend the River House to anyone wanting to get away! The hosts, Tracy and Greg, were very helpful prior to our visit. Greg was even nice enough to leave us fire wood for the fire pit…just wish we could have started a fire during out stay.
Relaxing and Beautiful
Loved this property. It is very spacious, plenty of room for everyone. It is close enough to town but yet far enough away to be secluded. Tracy and her husband are great and really enjoyed meeting them.
beautiful house, lots of space, beautiful views across the river
we had a great time at this river house; the owner is very kind, it was clean, well equipped, and it was priceless to sit outside at the terrace and look over the river.
Located on the Muskegon River with easy access to Muskegon Lake, Bear Lake and Lake Michigan through the channel. The River House is located 8 Miles from Pere Marquette, 6 Miles from North Muskegon State Park, 5.5 Miles from the historic North Muskegon Blockhouse, 6 Miles from Michigans Adventure Amusement Park and 7.5 Miles from the Winter Sports Complex which offers lighted skating and cross country ski trails as well as a full scale luge! Visit the Historic LST Landing ship in downtown Muskegon, Tour the Hackley House, an immacutlately restored Lumber Baron's home, or check out an actual World War II Submarine and maritime museum, the Silversides, located on the channel separating Muskegon Lake from Lake Michigan. While you are there you might catch a glimpse of a 1000 foot freighter passing through. Their are numerous festivals to attend, including the wildly popular Muskegon Bike Time and Irish Music Festival and the family friendly Unity Christian Music Festival. A Miniature Golf Course and GoKart facility which also rents Kayaks is within walking distance. Downtown Muskegon is home to two craft breweries - Pigeon Hill and Unruly Brewery along with numerous bars and restaurants.
