A Little Bit of Paradise on the Maine Coast

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 3-4 Sleeps

Welcome to Coveside Cottage, a little bit of paradise on the Maine coast. Offering incredible views of Bar Harbor, Mt. Desert Island and several other islands, Coveside Cottage is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the real world.

Wake to the sound of loons, lobster boats, bell buoys, and the gentle lapping of waves. Play some croquet on the spacious front lawn, relax on the front porch, or around the firepit at the water's edge.

History abounds on Ferry Rd. in Hancock - it was once a bustling hub for people going to and from Bar Harbor, with a railroad, a grand hotel, and ferry service to Bar Harbor.

Sorry, no pets....

Peaceful, secluded and charming cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here at the cove side cottage! The home was lovely and had everything we needed, it was a good size for my husband and I. Our favorite was the front porch, we spent a lot of time in the rocking chairs enjoying the view out while our dog sunbathed in the yard. We were hoping for a peaceful and quiet getaway and that is exactly what we got. We also spent a lot of time in Acadia hiking. So many spectacular views there! We would definitely recommend and hope to come back!

What a place!! It's cozy, has a breathtaking view, and quiet.

I was at the cottage for the Acadia Night Sky Festival in September 2017. It's location was perfect to get to Ellsworth and Mount Desert Island quickly.

The cottage itself was perfect. The size was good and it had everything I needed for my stay. The only complaint I have is when first trying to find the house the house number was hard to see from the shoulder over growth, but once I found it I didnt have a problem after.

Sue Rand was great! She texted to let me know about the weather days before I left for Maine and gave me instructions on "what if's". Made sure I knew where to find flashlights in the house. Had such a great experience I will be going back next year with my son!!

We didn't want to leave on our last day! The pictures are exactly as they look! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the beautiful water views and the peace and quiet! The owner was wonderful and made the cabin very cozy, clean and with the little touches you need when away from home. We would definitely stay again!

Awesome view in a peaceful setting.

  • 5 of 5

The house has everything you need. The owner was kind enough to leave some condiments in the refrigerator for sandwiches, hot dogs etc. We cooked a few times while there. We didn't need to buy any salt or other spices since they were already there. The temperature didn't get out of the 60s but the house was kept warm with electric heater that was supplied. They did have a gas heater but it was needed.
