Guestbook comments from the owner

Our stay at Christine and Jim's mountain escape was wonderful beyond expectations. The amazing accommodations provided the exact retreat we were looking for, and provided some much needed R&R. Re: location, the cabin was tucked far enough into the mountains that we were able to enjoy incredible stargazing from the hot tub, but still close enough to spend a comfortable afternoon in Cashiers, Highlands and the excellent hiking opportunities throughout the area. Definitely recommend.

Very inviting and a bit eclectic

  • 5 of 5

Christine was a generous hostess. The cabin was a perfect size for two and the hot tub was very relaxing. The robes were a thoughtful touch, as was the surprise breakfast we received our last morning.

Magical, Marvelous & Memorable

  • 5 of 5

Leaving California I was unsure as to why I felt drawn to spend a week alone in the NC Cashiers/Highlands area of the Smoky Mountains. I made no plans, had no agenda, knew no one there so decided to remain open to whatever unfolded. I am so glad I followed my heart. Upon arriving at the Cozy Cabin I found the door wide open and Chris Prime, the owner, waiting to welcome me and to show me around. I could see the attention to detail in the cabin to ensure my comfort and convenience during my stay. Everywhere I looked there was something interesting and welcoming. And through every window a view of the natural lush beauty of the mountains and trees. Best of all, when I opened the glassed back door, 30 feet away was a cascading, waterfall! With bedroom windows open I fell asleep each night to the sound of falling water. I can tell you it makes for a deep and peaceful slumber. Although I was a woman alone, I felt very safe and, in fact, full of adventure and with the feeling that there was "magic afoot"! As indeed there was, for every day and evening held new experiences, new acquaintances and a profound sense of connectedness to the mountains and to the wonderful people of this community. Chris and Jim Prime respected my privacy but were always available to provide information or help as when I locked myself out of the cabin with only my car keys in my hand in the glorious pouring rain. No phone, no money - nothing. Another adventure and great fun! My heartfelt gratitude to Chris and Jim for their "Cozy Cabin" and their goodwill and friendship. I recommend this "home away". You will Love the adventure. Happy Trails to all!!!

Cozy, location and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Our cabin was cozy and warm during some of the first cold and rainy days of fall. We could not have asked for a quieter stay with a great view and the location was very very convenient. We highly recommend the Cozy Cabin.

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect. While we spent most of our days exploring the surrounding mountain towns, we LOVED coming home to quiet evenings grilling out and soaking in the hot tub. The little mountain stream outside our bedroom window made falling asleep as easy as the breeze coming in the open windows. We'll definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Hosting Joannah and Chris was a privilege! They came for honeymoon and were superb guests at their cozy log cabin. Im honored to have such five star guests as they took such good care of their cabin leaving all perfect upon exit. I'm hoping for their return for an anniversary stay next year. Even better than in the description!

  • 5 of 5

Usually the description/ images of a place to stay are designed to make it seam more alluring than it really is. In this case it was the opposite. Everything was more hospitable, charming, and cozy than even the words and pictures were able to capture!

We had a lovely time and can't wait to return again as soon as possible.
