Two bedroom, two bathroom townhouse located in the middle of Old Town Alexandria. Full kitchen with all your amenities included for cooking. Off street parking available as well if you are driving. An easy walk from the King Street metro if you are flying in and not renting a car. There is a great back porch with grill if you want to have a cook out. The bedrooms have sheets and pillows. The bathroom has all your towels for getting ready. Your perfect home away from home in DC.
I am an avid traveler myself and my goal is to see all the countries in the world. I have been to 35 already and have a lot more to go. I owned a local personal training studio in Old Town Alexandria for 10 years and have really enjoyed helping the local community get fit. I was born in Battle Creek, MI and then moved to Plantation, FL and then we move again to Atlanta, GA. I went to school at Michigan State. I have lived in Old Town Alexandria for 16 years.
Matt McKinnis purchased this townhome in 2000
When I moved to Alexandria, VA I was told the Old Town was the place to live not DC. After exploring I fell in love the with the charm of the city and how easy it was to walk around. My townhouse is right in the middle of everything and just a half block off of King Street which I love.
I fell in love with 107 King Henry Ct because there are only 8 units in the complex. We have an amazing courtyard, which is tucked back off the street. We also have off street parking, so you do not have to find parking every night you come home. The townhouse itself is perfect for me, since it has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and just the right size for me. I also love the back porch, which is perfect for relaxing and having a cocktail.
Everything was great, only wished had a tv in living area, only because we like to watch the news. But it was a great place to stay! Location is perfect, we took a cab back from Washington. Close to everything!
We spent a week at this lovely rental property, it was located in a lovely, safe, quiet & friendly area with easy access to the local shopping & eating areas, Alexandria is a very happening place, we were able to walk everywhere so our car sat for the week, we were very close to the Metro so had an easy time getting to Washington to see all the sights there.
Matt's rental property was well equipped, very clean, we had our own reserved parking spot, it is a very unique property, we enjoyed our stay here & would certainly stay there again. Thank you Matt for the use of your place plus being so easy to deal with from beginning to end. Betty/Terry
My husband and I spent a long weekend at this townhouse. It's in a perfect location--convenient to the trolley and metro. The townhouse was very clean and equipped with everything you could need. The only down side was that the only TV is located on the third floor, which made for a hike--with coffee in hand--to watch the morning news. But I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in Alexandria because we wanted something out of the city but convenient since we were going to be going into Washington DC regularly to see the sights. We came for spring break with our two teenage daughters and had a blast. The location of the townhouse is perfect! It is close to the Metro (which we walked to every morning to take in to DC) and its right in the middle of all kinds of quaint shopping and restaurants in Alexandria. There is so much to see and do obviously in DC but Alexandria is just such a special place itself.
The townhouse is very clean and has its own character. It was perfect for our family of 4 with our 2 daughters sharing the pullout couch on the third floor. The kitchen has everything you need. We grilled out and sat on the patio a couple nights as well since the weather was nice. The bed in the master was very comfy for me but not so much for my husband.......but he slept so it apparently wasn't that bad! Having a parking spot was wonderful. We never drove except to get there and to leave but having an assigned parking spot is a huge bonus. There was a lot of traffic when we arrived a little after 3 on a Friday so having a spot to go to was nice!! And it's a very short walk form the parking spot to the front door of the townhouse......also another bonus!
Overall our stay was great and we would definitely go back again. There is so much to do in DC and we were able to see most of what we wanted in the 6 days we had for sightseeing......but I'd definitely go back just to experience more of Alexandria too!
Matt was great to work with also as I had to e-mail him a couple times and needed him to resend me directions to the parking spot. I felt horrible for having to bother him but he was very nice. He had also given us some suggestions for places to eat in Alexandria which were very helpful.
Overall an amazing experience both with the townhouse and the sights of Alexandria and DC!!!!
Matt, the owner, was a pleasure to work with, and the town house was very comfortable. It is very well equipped for your stay. It is small and vertical, so keep that in mind. It has a lovely patio that really expands the house. You are literally a walk away from everything in Old town and DC. The bed is comfy, with plenty of closet space. I really enjoyed my stay here!
We spent a week in this lovely condo while visiting area friends and relatives in January. We had everything we needed, from a big comfy king-size bed and a complete kitchen (with icemaker and dishwasher) to two bathrooms and extra sleeping space on a sofa bed if we had needed it. The condo is very nicely decorated with comfortable furniture and is full of beautiful artwork. Lots of books, movies, a big TV with Netflix (I think..I am not the technical one!), and nice views out most windows. We walked out King Street almost to the Potomac, or you can ride the King Street Trolley for free. Lots of shops and great restaurants right close by. Due to the weather, we did not use the sweet private patio out back, but it looks to be fun in warmer weather! We would stay there again, for sure. The condo is three floors, with no bathroom on the ground floor, so do be aware of that. The ground floor is full of light: a living room with a fireplace, dining room and kitchen. The next two floors up are a bedroom with a full bathroom and then a TV room/sofa bed with a shower bathroom. The owner was very responsive for the few questions I had. And an assigned parking space was a true bonus in an area where on-street parking is few and far between. One thing to mention: At the front door, the step up into the entryway is a little high, so watch your kids and elders! A really nice place to stay in Old Town.
