What makes this Cabin unique
The sun room is the biggest attraction. So peaceful, local wildlife visits in the back yard.. River access is 230 yards down the lane. a large government pond is close enough to walk to that is stocked with Bass, perch, and Catfish. Shenandoah River Outfitters is just down the road and will be happy to assist you with a river excursion you wont forget.

Clean & Comfy
This cottage was clean and comfortable. It was rather hot during our stay and the AC was nice to come back to after a day out.
Had a good stay
Only 3 chairs at dining room table for 4 people, no towel racks in bathroom, no hangers in bedroom, gas grill is at end of life, required to take trash down the road to dumpster.
Nice relaxing weekend getaway. The perfect place to unwind and disconnect for awhile.
We really enjoyed our stay overall! The facility was nice and clean and the scenery was gorgeous! We wanted to give some constructive criticism, the instructions for how to get to the house can be better. There was a house right off of the driveway without an address that we tried getting into for a while which looks like the one in the photograph as the photo is a picture of the back of the house. The actual house is a small walk from the driveway. It would also be really nice to have some water bottles. Thanks again!
Nice Property, could use some tweaking
The property was in a beautiful location! The river, as stated, cannot be seen from the property but a short walk will get you there. The river was very high due to Spring rains, so we didn't really take advantage of the riverfront. It was a comfortable cabin that was a 15 min. drive into town--and 20 min to the NP entrance, so it worked well for our family. There were a few things I would suggest to make it even better.
The backyard: Firepit was great as was the picnic table. You are close to neighbors and the road, so if you really like isolation, this may not be the place for you. The hottub was WAY TOO chlorinated. We had to leave the cover off and run it for a day so that we could even sit in it without having a coughing attack. That was disappointing. The grill is completely rusted out and we couldn't even turn the nozzle on the propane tank to see if it worked. Don't plan on grilling. The fishing pond isn't far away and is very picturesque. However, I would assume, since it was pretty buggy when we were there in April, it will be very buggy come summer. Bring your bug spray!
Indoors is comfortable and we enjoyed the kitchen and sitting areas. The wifi is indeed weak, only use for email/slow internet connection. There are things that could be addressed to make it even more comfortable. There was an outlet in each bedroom that did not have a cover on it, one was behind the bed in the master bedroom...not safe. The kitchen table only had 3 chairs, so we had to improvise for our family of 4 to sit around it. There is a pump in the utility closet that is VERY loud and with all the rain we had it was cycling on/off all night long. The ceiling of the utility closet is not closed off from the Master Bedroom(a 1 foot gap at the top around the perimeter of the bedroom), so we were a bit miserable for 2 nights being startled awake by it regularly. The owners were made aware and apologized.
I would suggest at the very least closing off the closet to the rest of the house so there is less noise.
Other than that, it was a good place for our family! Thanks!
Would like to thank Cara, the owner of the property for allowing us to stay at her cabin. The cabin was great for the perfect quiet and relaxed getaway for a couple. The cabin was very clean and all you needed provided. The hot tub was a very nice feature of the property to relax after a long day. My only observation was that there was too much clorine in water. The cabin is secluded in the woods but close to the town of Luray, 20-25 minutes depending on your driving style. One shout out to Cara, I asked for the linen package after my reservation was made and she trusted me to make cash payment and leave the money at the property. Thank you! One suggestion I would make. The den is beautiful and large with very comfortable furniture but the small TV is out of place. A bigger TV in that room would really complete the space. Great service and responsive on VRBO. Definitely would recommend to friends and family.
Within walking distance of Shenandoah River Outfitters.
