We have a well with a whole house water filtration and sanitizer system and an 80 gallon hot water heater so you won't run out of water. We are dog friendly. Both the Shenandoah National Park and George Washington National Forest are nearby for outdoor activities. The area boasts lots for all family members to enjoy; golf, hiking, antiquing, waterpark, winter sports, Civil War area to name a few.(The Owner will forward an extensive list for you to use in planning your trip upon reservation.) Enjoy the melodious sound of the C&S RR as it passes by the cabin along with the sounds of nature. If it rains you will enjoy listening to the rain drops on the metal roof. If you are lucky you may see one of the bald eagles in the area from the deck. A large TV, local TV stations, DVDs/VCRs featuring old movies and TV shows are all there for your use. We have built Sycamore Landing to the standards we want when we travel and know you will enjoy your stay here in Page County, hopefully it will be with us.

Just let us know 72 hours prior to you arrival so we can coordinate schedules. For longer runs we offer drop offs and there is a river outfitter in Shenandoah with tubes, kayaks and canoes.

NOTE WINTER RENTERS: Winter Renters, you are off a secondary level State Route (650) that is plowed by VDOT. We live a mile away and have driven an ATV with plow, multiple times, to the cabin last winter during construction/fit-out for access to clear the if you read reviews of other cabins having difficult winter access, we do not believe you will have any problem at Sycamore Landing - should you be the lucky ones that are there for a snow fall.

About Alison Lyons and Jeff Ecroyd

Built in 2014 and opening in 2015, we built this log home to provide a place to relax, reflect and refresh from hectic lives and to enjoy all the wonderful activities here in Page County and the Shenandoah Valley. We retired in 2013 to a property that is 1 mile from Sycamore Landing, a cabin in the woods which initially served as our weekend get away. Sycamore Landing was built with the renter in mind but with the express purpose of being accessible for disabled veterans and veterans in medical care. The cabin is owned by a retire disabled USAF MSGT and his retired Engineer wife who spent her career in commercial construction retiring as a Project Manager. We have both lived overseas and travelled extensively in the USA. We want you to enjoy your stay so if we can help you please let us know.

We offer discounts to all Retired, Honorably Discharged and Active Duty Military. Disabled Veterans may qualify for additional discounts.

Cozy and beautiful getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

What a great property for our weekend getaway!! We took our son and two twin granchildren for the weekend to celebrate their birthday. We had a wonderful time. Lots to see and do in Shenandoah and Luray. The cabin was equipped with everything you could possibly need. River being right across the street was so convenient for fishing and tubing. Hot tub was very relaxing at the end of the day and the outside fires were enjoyable also. A great place to see and stay, recommend highly to everyone!

This was our second time staying at this wonderful property. We travel a lot and I can honestly say this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. As many others have mentioned the cabin is stocked with everything you could possibly need. Laundry detergent, insect repellent, towels galore, aluminum foil, spices, all kinds of pots and pans, paper products. There's even a flour sifter for baking! Truly about the only things you need bring are your clothes and food. The owners give you a very personal experience. We celebrated our 32nd anniversary during this stay and upon arrival we were greeted with Champagne waiting in the refrigerator. There were also personalized napkins and several other surprises. Being so close to the water is a real treat for my husband who goes fishing for several times a day. The location of the cabin is convenient too for lots of sightseeing. This year we took day trips to Monticello, Montpelier, and the Natural Bridge of Va. We also spent several days just relaxing on the beautiful porch and catching up on reading. There is no internet access at the cabin, but we have cellular service with Verizon and were able to use our cell phones as hot spots without any difficulty. The hot tub is delightful. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. If you are considering a trip to the Shenandoah area this is absolutely the place to stay.

Everything and More

  • 5 of 5

Sycamore Landing was just the quiet retreat we were hoping for. Allyson and Jeff went above and beyond. The entire house is stocked with everything you could need being away from home. Plenty of towels and dishes, games, books, two binders full of information on the area and to things do, and even a drawer of any little toiletries you may have forgotten. Nothing was missed when setting this house up. Also, knowing that we were celebrating our 20th Anniversary, as well as our 40th Birthday's, they put Happy Birthday signs in the driveway and small touches throughout the house for us to enjoy. There was also some small treats for my little pup to enjoy. :) It's location was perfect too because it's right in the middle of almost everything you would want to do or visit. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet retreat with all amenities! Thank you Alyson and Jeff for everything!

Above and beyond expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Everything the hosts promise is true . . . and then some! Immaculate, tasteful, and stocked with everything one needs. They have seen to details for the humans and for the pups. It was easy to unplug and relax. Alison and Jeff were pleasant and quick to respond to my inquiries. Fantastic getaway!! We know we will be returning.

Everything you could really want in a vaction home

  • 5 of 5

This was the best vacation rental we have ever had. The home is beautiful and FULLY equipped with everything. Honestly, you don't have to bring anything except your clothes and some food! It is very clean and everything in the home seemed brand new. The grounds are well manicured, and accessing the river is very easy. The property has lots of tubes to take advantage of the lazy river. The owners personalized our stay as well, leaving us a list of things to do and treats that were appropriate for dogs and a toddler. The location is great, close to Luray caverns, Skyline drive and many hiking opportunities. I can't wait to stay again!
