This is the perfect cabin super close to torch lake. Anja and Christian are so friendly as well. We would definitely come back!
My family and I stayed at this lovely home at the end of July. We were very very happy with the location, the interior of the home is beautiful. This home is so well stocked in the kitchen they truly thought of everything plus more. We enjoyed the grill and fire pit and the smore kit that was waiting for us on the counter with a lovely note. The basement has a ping pong table and foosball table which we had a great time challenging each other. Wi-Fi worked great . Everything in the house was spotless and cozy . We played board games / watched movies at night. Traveled to Sleepy Bear dunes, Elk lake, ice cream at Higgins in Alden. My husband and I really appreciated the owners coming down to meet us and visiting very very enjoyable. We highly highly recommend this home. This will be my 5th home we have rented through VRBO and I have to say it was my favorite. Perfect size, they didn't skimp on linens, beach towels, plates, pots and pans, soap etc. Five stars. Thank you for letting us be guest in your home.
Loved the house
House has everything you could possibly need, is beautiful, and well kept. Nice location convenient to the lake and near to a lot of tourist areas.
AMAZING RELAXIN TIME!
The house was beautifully decorated and clean, it looked brand new! It had everything we could possibly need! We stayed for Fourth of July weekend and couldn’t have been happier! Anja and a Christian were wonderful hosts, they even went out of their way to drop us off a extension cord we needed and mailed us back a tank top we left there! The lake access is just across the street a few houses down! Bring a raft! Water is gorgeous!
The house was very clean and had everything you would need to be home away from home.
Not thrilled that there isn’t an actual beach at torch lake, and not much to do without driving a distance to do. Overall great house!!
Great house and location! Very friendly and helpful owners! Would highly recommend renting this property!
Torch Lake (known as the 3rd most beautiful lake in the world) offers endless opportunities. Two public accesses are located a 2-3 minute walk down the road. With sandy bottom and shallow water extending hundreds of feet into the lake, Torch is the perfect place for kids to enjoy the water. Kids will love the endless sand and will never want to leave. The house is located 1.5 miles down the road from the famous Torch Lake Sandbar. The sandbar is extremely shallow (about 2-3 feet deep). The sandbar is a VERY popular spot to park your boat, swim, play water volleyball, and party with friends. With its crystal clear water, that rivals that of the Caribbean, Torch Lake is perfect for swimming, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, tubing, windsurfing, and relaxing.
Up the lake the small town of Alden can be found (reachable by car or boat). Alden is a secret gem that offers little shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Alden also includes a playground with several tennis courts. Stroll down the street of Alden on a warm summer day and enjoy the live entertainment during the Alden Strolls. Don’t forget to grab some ice cream from Higgens Store (Voted Best Ice Cream Shop). The kids will love the GIANT Superman ice cream cones!
Grocery shopping is also conveniently located just 1 mile away. The Village Market carries everything one might desire on a trip including all the ingredients needed to make smores!
Drive (or boat) on over to Elk Rapids for Harbor Days. Harbor Days was voted best small town festival by MyNorth Media. You can come and stroll down main street Elk Rapids, or be a bit more adventurous and try your hand at the Paddleboard World Championships held every year. Kids will love the carnival rides and cotton candy alike, and cherish these memories for years to come.
Traverse City is located 25 miles southwest of the house. Traverse City is home to the National Cherry Festival (June 28- July 6) which offers boatloads of entertainment. The festival includes activities from children and adults, and a finale firework.
There are three boat ramps within 3 miles of the house; making it a boater’s paradise. There are also several golf courses within the area. 2 public accesses are conveniently located less than a 3 minute walk down the road.
