About Kent Penfield
My mother and I purchased the property from our cousins to keep this wonderful gem in the family; had been in cousin's family since 1947!! Rental buildings are not that old, they are next to the original cabin which has been renovated. I live in Rural Strafford, VT, 1.5 hours south, but love the Northeast Kingdom and Caspian Lake for a writing, or reading or relaxing or watersports getaway.
Kent Penfield purchased this Cabin in 2014

Lovely Location and Cottage
We truly enjoyed our stay and the beautiful town of Greensboro. The lake is so clean and the kids loved the water. The cottage was clean and exactly what we expected from a camp on the lake.
We always love our time on Caspian Lake! This home is particularly well suited to our stay with our family which includes six grandchildren. The kitchen is well equipped and the yard offers space for games of whiffle ball and badminton. We all enjoy the use of the canoe and kayaks which are provided. The charming village of Greensboro is close by for provisions or the town of Hardwick is a short drive if you are looking for more shopping options.
Absolutely perfect. Three generations of my family gathered, and people had a completely wonderful experience. The house layout is perfect, compact and very user friendly.
We spent most of the time in the water--there is a warm, still, shallow area off the dock that the kids frolicked in to exhaustion, and the older folks gobbled up the boats.
Amazing incredible just perfect. And for a camp very refined and well appointed. Can't gush enough.
Great setup for our family - the bunkhouse being separate from the main house was super when some folks wanted to stay up later. Everyone had a great time on the water using the generously provided boats and floaties. The place was clean and well kept, and exactly what we were looking for in terms of a “camp” experience. There are some quirks, like the downstairs shower not really running hot, both bathrooms being in the bunkhouse not the main house, and a funky Wi-Fi connection. But we really loved it, enjoyed being disconnected, loved being on the water, and loved all
The games, puzzles and the private setting. The view from the house, watching sunsets over the lake from the deck or dock, and being able to bring our furry family members with us made this a vacation to remember. We would definitely come back to stay and recommend it for those looking for a family get away in a truly exceptional area of Vermont.
Fabulous Caspian Lake Location
We loved that the bunkhouse was separate from the common space--great for putting younger kids to bed before everyone else settles down. The location on the cove was great and the view of the sunsets from the deck was unbeatable! The dock and boats were perfect for kids and adults! Not too close and not too far from provisions, ice cream, yoga class, library, etc.
Beautiful Caspain Lake
Our family had a wonderful time at Capsian Lake! There are bedrooms for everyone and the kitchen is well supplied with all the cooking equipment we needed. The surrounding area has lots of interesting places to explore should you have a rainy day during your visit. Enjoy the canoe, kayaks and paddleboard on sunny days or just play in the water with the kids. There is always something to do, including taking a relaxing nap on the deck or down on the dock!
