About Harry Zola
I love Hawaii and sharing it with friends and guests, especially those who appreciate the spirit and mana of the island. I have traveled extensively around the world and always love coming back to Hawaii.
Why Harry Zola chose Opihihale
To be in authentic and natural Hawaii, close to the ocean and untouched by tourists, hotels and resorts.
What makes this Estate unique
The panoramic views of the ocean from Kai Ea are mesmerizing. Also, the ocean and the secluded beaches nearby with the wonderful trails leading to them are awesome. It feels like 'Old Hawaiiana'. The sounds of the birds, wildlife and whales singing at night in the winter makes you feel like you're in paradise. The romantically furnished interior provide a unique comfort with beautiful Asian art to behold.

Private setting with awesome ocean views!
We really enjoyed our stay at KaiEa. We highly recommend this place. Thank you, Harry, for being a wonderful host. We hope to stay here again soon!
Wonderful idyllic stay with a view
Your experience begins the moment you drive down the steep private driveway and see the horizon just over the roof of Kai Ea. You step out to witness it and realize this is a special place that someone has put a lot of thought and design into the perfect private residence.
The property is immaculately maintained with a not so subtle East Asian aesthetic and has amenities aplenty from the fully stocked kitchen to the expansive lanai with its multiple loungers and chairs, and the outdoor shower.
The interior is designed to take in the cross breeze from the trade winds and with plenty of fans for when there aren’t. The living room is massive and provides views like no condo in Kona could provide.
You will begin your day with the sounds of nature and the ocean and end it with a majestic sunset just outside the plethora of sliding glass doors. At night on a clear day you can see the Milky Way on the lanai since you’re far from the light pollution of Kailua-Kona.
If you’re a beach person, the location is almost an hour away from Hapuna and Kua bay. But if you fancy snorkeling then you’re right next to some of the best snorkeling on the island.
You have almost complete privacy as the landscaping will shield you from the neighbors view. This is especially important if you’re using the outdoor shower.
Additionally there were plenty of left over things from previous renters and the owner such as a beach umbrella, chairs, and some sunblock.
We stayed for 6 nights and had the most relaxing stay on the Big Island. We came at a bad time to the island since Mauna Kea had protests and Volcanoes is now dormant and closed so we will definitely come back to the Big Island again soon and won’t hesitate to stay here again.
The view from this home is amazing it will keep you in awe, breathless and steal hours of time just sitting and and enjoying the ocean below. The show does not stop when the sun goes down because the stars are amazing and we saw numerous shooting stars. The inside and landscaping is just as beautiful as the scenery. Harry Zola, the property manager, is great to work with, gets back to emails quickly and worked with us on a late check out so we did not have to find somewhere to kill time before our flight. This home is a drive from Kona but it is well worth it to have this kind of privacy seclusion, view and just plan relaxation. We will look forward to coming back and will share this home info with everyone we meet
True Island Paradise
This is an amazing property! The views... pictures do not due it the justice it deserves. Communication with the property manager Harry was great, he was very timely in his response. He checked in with us periodically over the duration of our stay. If there was a 6 star rating for this property, it would get that from us.
Expansive, Unobstructed Ocean View
This home is beautiful, inside and out! Tastefully furnished with interesting Asian artwork and every amenity, the house itself is wonderful. It is clean and well maintained. On top of that, the location could not be better. It sits down the slope from Highway 11, about 1.000 feet above the ocean, with an unrailed patio and 180 degree, unobstructed view of the Interesting coastline and ocean below. It is very private. The sunsets were incredible, with their evolving interplay of colorful light on the clouds and water. It is centrally located to great hikes, beaches, and snorkeling, and the Manta Ray experience. We stayed for 4 nights and would have stayed forever, if we could. Mahalo, Kai Ea, for a wonderful westside retreat.
Wonderful house, amazing views
The home was spotless and had everything we needed. The kitchen was nicer than our kitchen at home and there was also a nice laundry room with a washer and dryer. The lanai was wonderful and had stunning views of the ocean. Really, you will not find a better sunset anywhere. We were close to restaurants and beaches, but we always wanted to be back at the house for sunset. There was also a lot of privacy, which was really nice for a couple's vacation. We will definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to go back to Hawaii.
Volcanoes National Park is a little over an hour's drive. City of Refuge and Kealakekua Bay are 20-min. drive. Ho'okena State Beach is only 10-min. drive.
