A Large secluded screened porch awaits you, with rockers, a dining table, and mountain sunset views through the trees. If you enjoy reading or just want to get away to mountain serenity & your own special music, our private screened porch nestled in the forest — comfortable rockers included---should be one of the most enjoyable features of our Cabin. We have 2 flat-screen smart TVs for enjoying Netflix, YouTube live TV and a wide variety of other shows. There is an activity closet with movies, books, cards, puzzles and board games. Current magazines are also available as well as hiking and guide books for the area. You will find a Gas grill on the deck, complete with utensils. While grilling, relax in the rockers and enjoy the lush forest view; soaking in the fresh air, bird song, and pine ladened breezes. The fire pit on the deck adds to your relaxing experience. Enjoy seasonal mountain views for much of the year as well; see our many pictures!

The two Master suites each have a private open-air deck accessible by sliding glass doors with bench seating to enjoy the fire pit, sunset views, star gazing, and separate access to the screen porch for dining and board games. Additionally, one of the Masters has private access to the bathroom and a large private sitting room. The Two Master suites are separated by a great room with a 13-foot cedar lap siding wall (filling the air with a fresh cedar aroma) crowned with windows that let in the morning sun, a dining area, 1/2 bath with a dishwasher plus stacked washer, and dryer and a fully appointed Kitchen.

A Stepp Away is an ideal home base for one or two couples to hike, sightsee, shop, try new restaurants and explore the beautiful mountain area, then relax in the evenings in the great room, sitting room, by the fire pit, or in a comfy rocking chair on the screen porch. Blankets are available for those chilly mountain nights! A large flat parking area also works well for those who like to fish and bring their boat with them.

Indeed - A Stepp Away - Awesome!!
From the moment we walked up to the gorgeous custom door to enjoying the long easy mornings around the fire-pit, our stay was perfection. Our beds were very comfortable, view lovely, and all amenities were enjoyed. Very clean and spelled so fresh too. I highly recommend this cabin. It's conveniently located in the mountains which enabled us to make day trips to other beautiful towns: Helen, Blue Ridge, Ellijay, Dillard, GA, and then, Highlands, NC. Best cabin ever!!

Quiet Getaway Cabin
From the moment we walked in to A Stepp Away we felt very welcomed. The cabin was decorated for Christmas and had a gift basket full of goodies for our stay. They even supplied us a few New Year celebration supplies, which was very thoughtful! We enjoyed spending time on the deck with the new fire pit and having our morning coffee on the screened in porch. The bed was very comfortable, and the cabin has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We spent most of our time hiking on the Appalachian Tail. We enjoyed views from Powell Mountain and Unicoi Gap. We also did a day trip to Dry Falls and Secret Falls. The cabin is close to town and easy to get to. Overall, we loved our stay and will be back for sure!

Comfortable & cozy cabin
We liked the place very much, everything matched their description, except for the trees which were not as colorful as the pictures, since it was the end of November, ha ha ha.... It was such a perfect place & we had a relaxing week. Thank you!

Pleasant
House was very clean, nicely decorated and had everything needed for stay. Instruction manual provided which gave excellent recommendations for places to visit. Back porch was nice but had no Mountain View. Master bed was very comfortable however sofa in living room was not. Owner provided guest with a goodie bag, which was nice. Overall our stay was good.

Relaxing Mountain Stay
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at A Stepp Away Cabin. It is very close to the town of Hiawassee so we were able to shop and dine out easily. The cabin itself is so charming and had everything we needed for our stay. Most of our time spent at the cabin was on the back deck. Beautiful views of the surrounding woods. The drive up is not too steep either. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this cabin!

About the host

This was our cabin that has been our "just a Stepp away" from Atlanta for many years where we reunited with nature as a respite from our challenging jobs. We love this area so much that we decided to purchase our retirement home in this wonderful community after looking at many others. Our new home gave us the opportunity to share a piece of our heaven with others by sharing our cabin.

Why they chose this property

Single Story "no stairs" quaint cabin in a small quiet community with all the amenities of the city-great diverse restaurants, events, and shows, lots of shopping, nice people, with lovely mountain and lake views everywhere you go.

What makes this property unique

It features a single story with no stairs. It is so very quiet which makes it super relaxing. Close enough to Hiawassee, Lake Chatuge, and restaurants with no city lights to disturb the view of the stars, and no busy activity to scare the deer and birds away.
