About Wayne Ott
For over 15 years, Wayne & Sherrie traveled to the Viroqua area for their spring and fall camping and fishing trips. When Sherrie retired in 2014, they moved to Viroqua and are happy to be living in such a beautiful and friendly area. Before the move, Wayne worked as a cartographer with the US Geological Service and Sherrie with the USDA as a resource conservationist. Wayne completed massage therapy training at CVTC in Eau Claire and practices out of their home, specializing in injury rehabilitation and relaxation massage.

Why Wayne Ott chose Viroqua
Vernon County has so much to offer, including winding roads through beautiful hills and valleys, world-class trout streams, large open areas for hiking like the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, and a large organic and Amish communities that offer their unique products. The Kickapoo River near Ontario offers scenic canoeing and kayaking, and there are several bike trails including the Elroy-Sparta and La Crosse River trail within easy driving. Some of our visitors head to the nearby Mississippi River to pan fish. Birdwatchers can enjoy bald eagles and a host of migratory birds as they travel along the big river. Our property is home to numerous songbirds including Eastern Meadowlarks, Northern Orioles, Bluebirds, Hummingbirds as well as Wild Turkeys, deer and pheasants. Viroqua is a friendly community with interesting small shops and a couple of restaurants serving locally-sourced food. We are just a few miles from two wineries with tasting rooms.

Clean, comfortable, convenient
Wayne and Sherrie are welcoming hosts. They have a beautiful, private, restored farmhouse property. Their Garden Cottage has everything one could possibly need- soft water, laundry detergent choices, appliances and refrigerator, accessible shower. We stayed two nights and would have enjoyed the private space even longer had we known! Massage after a day of hiking and fishing made it feel like a spa. We hope to return in future years. Thank you for a lovely stay so convenient to fishing and dining.
A Week of Peace and Relaxation
The Cottage is a great place for a couple or even a single person to getaway from the daily hustle and bustle or for a romantic weekend or week. The Cottage was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the walk-in shower was fantastic. We enjoyed the bird feeder activity and the scenery from on top of Meadowlark Ridge was beautiful and very calming. The hosts, Wayne and Sherrie, were friendly and accessible. This is our type of vacation place. We highly recommend The Cottage.
