Hello . We are an English family who work hard and bought our apartment in Menorca as a safe haven for our own holidays. We live on a farm and so the coast is a pleasant change and offers us an "away from it all' experience. We hope that you enjoy the pace and life style of this area as much as we do. In the 14 years that we have owned the property it has not deteriorated. This is because the complex is lived-in through-out the year and occupied by a combination of local Minorcan families and holiday rentals who work harmoniously together. The housing association who maintain and upkeep the apartment complex are very professional and maintain high standards.

We fell in love with this area while on holiday with some friends and over a coffee and with the promise of holidays like this for years to come we both families decided to buy a property. There are not many that come up for sale in Santa Ana but we were lucky to buy off plans in to this new development at Pintor Vives and enjoy the strong communal influence and pretty residential area. The area of Es Castell is calm and pretty with palm tress and manicured gardens. But when it is fiesta time all the towns and villages celebrate their Saints Day with horse running and parades and music and cheer. It is a wonderful sight and something that all the family can join in with. Es Castell, Santa Ana is respectable and safe and well looked after. People are very friendly and the communal spirit is strong. But everyone wants and needs tourism so there is a healthy attitude and warm greeting awaiting you wherever you go and Calles Fonts is bustling with tourists during high season. The airport is fantastic.. new and very well organized and only 20 minutes max drive from the accommodation which makes the journey very accessible and noticeably stress free. For anyone who suffers from travel sickness like me this easy transfer is very welcome. Menorca is a small island so this base is a great place from which to explore it and with your own private parking area it is ideal to travel by car, though a car is not essential as there is a very good bus service on your door step. We maintain our property to a high standard and you can be sure of a comfortable stay. Our price is including air conditioning and parking English TV and WiFi .. a real home from home - there are no extras!
What makes this Apartment unique
Our apartment is conveniently located in a friendly area where your older children can enjoy their independence and the long season allows for a variety of excursion and adventuring possibilities for all. There is an outdoor gym in the local park along the road used by locals for the tarmac football / basketball pitch. We have installed WIFI for your use free of charge . The apartment facilities allow you to have a siesta around the pool or sunbath privately on your private terrace with the comfort of home cooking if you wish. It is spacious and comfortable and in 2015 we added BBQ facilities and an oudoor private seating area on one of the balconies. Our apartment has good views front and back. One has the countryside and the other roof tops with the mouth of Mahon's natural harbour beyond. On Saturday's the cruise ships visit and pass along our panorama echoing their arrival and departure with the hooting of their funnel. The swimming pool complex is safe and gated and so your family can play safely outside in the communal gardens, but respect must be given to the siesta time and children 14 yrs or under must be accompanied by an adult. The complex is modern and the community friendly. Parking at number 48 is included for your use when you arrive. WIFI is available at the apartment and in most bars and restaurants only 5 minutes walk away where you can easily enjoy a long beer or glass of wine. This area is very friendly and combines the old Menorcan traditions with the much needed tourism in the local tapas bars and corner shops. Our property is enjoyable all year round because it is a residential area and not solely reliant on tourism. Take a break off-season and enjoy the fresh air and historic charm of the island. Cycling, walking, sailing and photography as well as water sports are highly appreciated on the Island.

A great holiday!
This was our second visit to Menorca and because of the close proximity to the lovely Water Front at es castel, and all the bars and restaurants we were able to explore locally on foot, and it was only a 30 minute walk, or €8 taxi ride to Mahon which is a great buzzy little town with lots going on.
The apartment did four of us well, clean and spacious, with comfy beds and well equipped. Far views from the terraces over contryside were good for relaxing. The pool area was clean and attractive but the water was cold!
We would recommend the apartment to anyone.

Within 5 minutes walking to restaurants and bars. Very handy for buses into Mao and onto other parts of the island.

Excellent apartment, great location.
This was our second visit to this apartment which now feels very much like home from home. The location is excellent, only 5 mins walk to restaurants and bars in the beautiful small harbour of Calas Fonts. The historical town of Es Castell situated at the back of Calas Fonts also has many restaurants, bars and local shops.
The bus stop is a few minute’s walk and the buses run every half hour to Mahon where you can then catch various buses to visit other parts of this beautiful island. Car hire is not essential but recommended to visit the lovely beaches and villages on the island. (There is also an allocated parking space for the apartment).
The apartment overlooks countryside with a very large balcony that is excellent for watching the sunsets. There is also a balcony off the main bedroom with garden furniture for 6 people, 2 sun loungers and a BBQ.
The apartment has 3 excellent bedrooms with plenty of storage space, an open-plan lounge/dining area together with a very well equipped kitchen including a dishwasher. The washing machine is on a smaller 3rd balcony at the back.
Beach equipment is also provided ie beach chairs, umbrella and cooler box together with ice blocks in the freezer.
There are number of local supermarkets, but we used the large Eroski supermarket in Sant Lluis which is about 10 mins in the car.
We were here for a month and ‘lived like a local’ and we have already rebooked for next year.
We highly recommend this apartment to anybody who does not want to stay in a touristy area and who would enjoy staying in a residential apartment with the locals.

Great stay in a much loved apartment
The apartment was set in a small complex sharing a swimming pool and outdoor lawned area Both were well looked after. The apartment itself was obviously loved by the owners, was very clean and well furnished. WiFi reception worked very well. Balconies both back and front gave us a lovely through breeze.It was situated close to shops and the harbour area was an attractive venue for evening meals. The terminus for the number 2 bus into Mahon was only about 200m away and the punctuality of the buses was amazing. From the bus station it was very easy to hop off the number 2 and on to buses for the other main towns/resorts on the island. Many of the buses had take away timetables just as you boarded the bus.

One to Recommend
As a first-time visitor to Menorca I loved the area with a perfect little waterfront nearby and easy access to beautiful coves by foot or car. Lots of beaches are within easy drives and there is a good 'family' feel about each location.
The apartment was well-supplied with useful beach gear. There was lots of space for us due to the duplex nature of the property. Having front and rear balconies is a good asset. The kitchen was well-stocked and the furnishings were comfortable to use.
The complex pool was also handy and usually quiet if you wished to use it. The property surrounds were clean and kept in good order. Local bakers and cafes were very pleasant and tourist-accommodating.
I can readily recommend this property to anyone considering a rental.
Caron, the owner, was very helpful when making arrangements to rent and was readily available to respond to enquiries.

Boat trips are available from Calles Fonts, only 5 mins walk away. Sailing enthusiasts can always enlist on a course around the island from Mahon, only 10 mins drive away.
The whole area and accommodation is ideal for those wanting the comforts and privacy of home combined with a varied yet relaxing holiday at any time of year.
Shoulder season is May and October which is less busy.
A small cove (Cala Padera) is only 5/10 mins walk away from the apartment. it is great for a bit of rustic charm snorkelling and crabbing or sunbathing.
Beaches such as Binibeca are within 15 mins drive away. Enjoy your day out and come home to the safety and comfort of your own home abroad, in the residential area of Santa Ana.
Mahon is 10 mins drive away. The airport is 20 mins drive away. Suggest car hire for those who want to explore the many beaches , town markets, vineyards, forts, smugglers coves, windsurfing ports , beautiful villages and historic harbours around the island.

Golf course at Son Bou is within an easy drive away.

When making payment if you book using the bank transfer method you will be booking directly with us and will not be charged additional bank charges. We will offer partial refund to cancellation outside of 3 months notice and will work with you assuming that we can re-sell the date. For anyone staying for 2 weeks or more you have the option of a mid stay linen change at Euros 15 per person . This cost is in addition to the price quoted and must be agreed and arranged 10 weeks prior to departure and paid in advance to me. Please request if you require this service. Alternatively there is a washing machine in the apartment. Thank you. Changeover Day: We are flexible with the change-over day but must consider the practicality of each booking individually. Normally people must vacate the apartment by 11am. In some circumstances this may be flexible. Notes on prices: Prices shown are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
