About Roy and Vivienne Osborne
We grew up in Bath and Oxford and spent our working lives in different overseas locations. After retirement we settled in this beautiful part of Somerset and enjoy the outdoor life, wildlife conservation, walking and cycling. Roy speaks French and Spanish.
Roy and Vivienne Osborne purchased this Barn in 2010
Why Roy and Vivienne Osborne chose Over Stowey
We loved this property when we first saw it in 2009. We wanted to move to Somerset on retirement and The Quantock Hills and surrounding areas offered just what we were looking for. We have loved being part of such a friendly and welcoming community.
What makes this Barn unique
The property is spacious and secluded with excellent parking facilities and open views towards the nearby Quantock Hills. The patio/terrace is south facing and ideal for eating outside. Many of our visitors would like to move in permanently!

We found the place easily thanks to the clear instructions of the owner. And this even though it is only reached via single track lanes. A comfortable bed and complete silence and darkness ensured
excellent nights' sleep. Lovely welcome from Vivienne. Well equipped and pleasant view. Lots of interesting places to explore within easy reach.
Altogether positive experience.
A great stay away with lovely hosts!
Good communication and welcome from the hosts, left to our own privacy throughout the stay but there if needed.
Lovely accommodation and location to venture out to
Would highly recommend
Found the spiral staircase more difficult to use than expected especially in the middle of the night! The bathroom is tired and has a musty, damp smell. The shower over the bath is not ideal. Other than that a lovely place to stay with welcoming hosts.
we really enjoyed our stay,
The cottage was just what we required for a couple of days away from it all.
Quiet, secluded and comfortable what else do you need!
Thank you to our hosts , really enjoyed
Absolutely beautiful location...The Granary has it all...everything you need ...and Vivienne and Roy perfect hosts...friendly and helpful...
The property is in lovely country setting and Vivienne was very helpful and welcoming
The kitchen was very well kitted out with everything you need and the bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of draw space. However the hanging space for those items you need to hang was downstairs in the bathroom which was a bit inconvenient
The outside patio required a bit of tlc and the outside furniture could do with replacing
