Wonderful holiday!
Comfortable, well equipped house in a beautiful rural setting. The outside area is superb with magnificent views to the Pyrenees. Terry and Sue are lovely hosts - helpful, friendly and generous. The area has lots of events and lovely towns to visit. We had a wonderful holiday.
Thank you for being such great guests.
Superb
Well maintained and comfortable. Perfect for our needs.
Beautiful rural setting, with fantastic pool and views to the Pyrenees
Our stay at La Fermette, Generville was very relaxing and the property was well suited for our family (4 adults, 2 young children).
Inside the property was a good standard, comfortable bedrooms, well appointed kitchen and nice dining rooms and lounge. Well stock library and some books/games for the kids.
But outside is where the property excels. There is outdoor space to eat at the front and rear of the property - wonderful views out the front, cool shade at the back. Then there is the fantastic pool with summer kitchen including BBQ and pizza/log-fired oven. It made a great place to relax with the family and the views from the poolside stretched out all the way to the Pyrenees - beautiful!.
Sue and Terry are welcoming, friendly hosts and were really helpful - including doing a food shop for us before we arrived which made settling in a breeze. They have 4 chickens who roam free and provided us with a bounty of eggs. A jar of Sue's homemade jam, garden picked herbs and local fizz were also waiting for us on arrival.
The local area has plenty to enjoy - highlights were swimming and pedalos at Lac Montbel, visiting Mirepoix (which is lovely and has great places to eat/drink and a brilliant Monday market), Chateau Montsegur, the church in Vals (dug into the rock!) and the dinosaur museum at Esperaza.
There were a couple of bike we could use and these were great to get out for short rides and explore some of the smaller nearby settlements and viewpoints.
Would highly recommend for those looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, away from it all and a pool to relax beside.
Thanks Sue and Terry!
So pleased you enjoyed Domaine de Generville as much as we do.
Clean,comfortable, welcoming and beautiful.
We loved our stay at Generville and really hope to return. Terry and Sue are perfect hosts. Everything was prepared beautifully including home made jam, home grown tomatoes and a basket of fresh eggs from their own free range chickens. The house is clean, spacious and homely, and the pool is spectacular. The views are unforgettable with the Pyrenees, sunflower fields, sunsets and stars.
Thank you for our wonderful holiday.
Great holiday
Thanks Terry and Sue, we had a great time at Domaine de Gennerville.
Super weather, great location and the children loved the pool!
Stunning location
Stunning location with fabulous views. The Gite is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The outdoor facilities are excellent. We made full use of the pool, BBQ and pizza oven which our 3 boys loved !. The views from the pool deck our outstanding. You are ideally located to explore the surrounding area. Carcassonne, Mirepoix, Cathar castles and white water rafting are but a few of the delights we sampled. We also enjoyed relaxing by the pool. A big thank you to Sue, Terry and Freddie who were fabulous hosts and made us feel very welcome. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I'm sure we'll be back to explore more.
