Fantastic amenities in a village with boulangerie, bar and shop. Close to lake beaches
About Anne Bartlett
We are a married couple in our 60s with three adult children and three lovely grandsons. We use the villa for relaxed family holidays where we can enjoy each others' company in a big space where there is plenty of room to play, relax, eat and drink. We bought the land in 2002, and the house was finished in 2009. It's purpose built for wonderful holidays.
Anne Bartlett purchased this Villa in 2002
Why Anne Bartlett chose Taponnat-Fleurignac
The villa is in a perfect location for us. We like walking to the local bar for early evening drinks and having a small shop and boulangerie means we don't always have to get the car out. There are lovely walks around the village past smallholdings, a little stream, woodlands, the local tennis club and the village school. As the villa is on the very edge of the village it is very private and rural. We adore the local towns of La Rochefoucauld and Chasseneuil, each about two miles away, which both have markets, supermarkets and lovely restaurants. We sometimes cycle into town via the country lanes. The whole family can stay at the same time which we love.
What makes this Villa unique
Everything is modern and convenient in this villa, in fact we promise to reimburse guests for anything they need to buy because it wasn't provided. From food processor to abundant pool and garden toys, this is a real home from home.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Great for family get togethers
Very nice, clean house with everything that you could possibly need on site. Pool was fantastic.
Village bar was closed for the whole of our stay as the owners were on holiday but it looked very nice.
Very handy to be able to walk to get bread every day.
Thank you Pippa, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay.
60th Birthday family stay
Spacious house in a nice location with a lovely outdoor heated pool area
A Beautiful house in a lovely area
Our first impression of the Villa upon arrival was that it was a beautiful home set on the edge of a lovely village. Once inside we found that it far exceeded our expectations, the accommodation layout was perfect for our three generations and the villa was so well equipped that we wanted for nothing throughout our stay. The pool was clean and warm and provided a focal point for the family to relax when we were not exploring the many places of interest in the area. The owner added a special touch to our stay with a much appreciated welcome pack and in addition to the very useful information folder, took the trouble to email information about special events taking place locally during our stay.
In over forty years of holidaying in France this is the best holiday rental we have stayed in and as an extended family meeting for a family celebration we all felt sorry to leave, having had a wonderful stay.
Thank you for your lovely review.
Lovely spacious property
Pool was a great bonus. Well equipped holiday home. WiFi great. A storm lost us sky tv which was disappointing. Clean. Well maintained.
A perfect venue for a family holiday.
The property is an ideal size for a family holiday as it splits into three bedroom areas with bathroom facilities. There is plenty of room and our grandchildren lived in the pool. The house is very well equipped and well described in the owners summary. We enjoyed our walk to the local boulangerie each morning and the supermarket is 5 min drive. There is lots of information in the house about the locality and we have already recommended this property to friends for next year.
Lovely holiday house
We had a wonderful stay at this house. Its size and layout was perfect for us - 6 adults and 5 small children all had a fabulous stay here. The swimming pool and outdoor areas were superb- loads of space for having fun!
We have stayed at several houses in France over the last six years and this is definitely the best.
There are several lakes within a half-hour drive with sandy beaches for bathing and cafes serving English type food. One has mini golf and pedaloes, and the other is adjacent to a large swimming complex with wave pool, slides etc. For more information http://bit.ly/1o1HuHX
Limoges airport takes flights all year round from several UK airports and it's an hour away. Some guests fly in to Bordeaux or Poitiers which are both about a 2 hour drive. As we provide all linen including swim towels, all infant equipment, pool inflatables and garden toys flying can be a good option. Use of a car is necessary and cars can be hired at all the local airports. The drive from Caen or St Malo to Taponnat takes 5-6 hours. or from Calais/Boulogne 7-8 hours.
Taponnat is between two market towns, each are 2-3 miles away and are well served with restaurants, supermarkets, doctors, pharmacies and all other local amenities. One has a beautiful chateau which is open all year. This area is famous for the Resistance in WWII, and there is a very imposing monument 3 miles away. 45 minutes away is Oradour, the village where the entire population was slaughtered by the SS. Most visitors go to visit one of the cognac houses which are less than an hour away.
