About Helen Shand
My name is Helen Shand and I and my husband Garrow bought Castle Farm in 1987. We are from suffolk farming stock and wanted our four children to have plenty of space to play in safety. Shearers cottage was at that time an old sheep shearing shed in our front garden and we felt it would make an ideal holiday cottage. That was 24 years ago and now Shearers Cottage has been extended and re-furbished to a very high standard. We are therefore on hand if our guests need anything.
Helen Shand purchased this Bungalow in 1980
Why Helen Shand chose Woodbridge
We bought Castle Farm, a 50 acre farm, to have more space for Garrow's contracting business and for our children to have plenty of space for horses, cars, bikes and loads of fun! We love this part of Suffolk as there is so much to do, the varied countryside, with woods, beautiful coastline and wide open spaces to explore, has something for everyone.
What makes this Bungalow unique
Shearers Cottage has plenty of living space and beautiful surroundings while being close to lots of Suffolk's best amenities.

A lovely cosy cottage!
We loved it here! Spent 4 nights here in October so chilly and wet outside but always lovely and cosy to come back to the cottage! Spacious and well equipped. My kids loved having their own bathroom. We would happily have stayed longer and will definitely be returning!
Great locat. Very comfortable, accessible and well equipped property. We really enjoyed our stay in Suffolk.
This was our 2rd stay with Helen @ her cottage in Sutton hoo great little find Helen always checks in with you to make sure you have everything you need which you do easy check in & out
A Gem in the park
A deceptively large cottage hidden away in the park of Sutton Hoo. We were met on arrival by Garrow and saw Helen before we left. Their house was just behind the cottage so had there have been any problems they would have soon been sorted out, The cottage itself was very clean, spacious and had all we needed.. The bed was huge in our bedroom and the bathroom was equally large, plenty of space. Would we go back?, most definately.
Lovely - but!
Very nice property just right for Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo and surrounding area. Well thought out and comfortable although separate switches for lounge/dining area lighting would have been nice and better lighting in the kitchen would have been nice. Unfortunately my husband was unwell overnight so left after one day but would like to return when circumstances and health matters permit!
I am so sorry you had to go home early and hope your husband makes a good recovery. Thank you for your kind words and we will look into how we can improve the lighting. Kind regards, Helen
Great size and location. Well equipped. Lovely garden for kids.
