We love the Suffolk coast and surrounding area. We recently retired and decided to look for a place to allow us to spend more time there. After looking closely at a number of locations along the coast we believe we have found the perfect spot. Beach View Holiday Park is a family run business in a the quiet, rural location overlooking the sea and beach. We love to walk our dogs and unlike the busier coastal resorts there are no restrictions on walking your dogs on the beach, in any season.

For a luxury lodge lots of underlying problems.
Cooker had clean it. Crockery & cutlery draw dirty. Oven tins dirty & rusty. Freezer over half full of open bags of ice cubes (hygiene). Cupboards full of previous old oils condiments & spices plus not a decent cupboard to put our food in. 2nd bedroom door wouldn't open/close properly due to newish carpet. En-suite shower control too hard to turn & my partner had to turn it on/off. Wash basin taps very stiff. Extracter fans in both bathrooms not working & dirty which the owner new about & hadn't rectified prior to our visit. We also replaced lightbulb & battery which I wouldn't have mentioned as these things happen if the property had been fit for purpose.
We emailed the owner on our return who was extremely rude that we'd left 2 days after returning home (he does not know our circumstances back at home but responded when we could)
Would not recommend this site if owners are like this one.
We have stayed in much better quality properties up & down the country & at a cheaper price.
The review is disappointing as we have corresponded at length over the matters raised. I inspected the lodge 2 days before your arrival. We take very seriously issues raised by guests and are quick to take remedial action when necessary. We have excellent housekeepers who maintain the lodge to a high standard. Equipment does fail on occasion but such failures are mitigated by regular maintenance. When it does need repairing or replacing we use qualified local trades people to carry out the work. For example the ensuite shower control and thermostat were replaced and all taps serviced last April and all appeared to be working normally but in view of the comment a plumber has been engaged to check all fittings again. I discovered that one of the extractor fans (not both) had an electrical fault on my recent visit but 2 working days before Christmas was unable to get this repaired. An electrician is due to carry out the repair shortly. I apologised for this.
I also took issue with the comments on the state of cleanliness of the crockery, cutlery draw and roasting tins having inspected them 2 days before. The cooker appeared clean when inspected but in view of your comment will receive a deep clean this month. Please accept my sincere apologies if it fell below acceptable standards.
The condiments are provided as a convenience for guests and checked regularly. As it was the Christmas period the ice cubes were provided as a convenience and I am sorry that they were not welcomed as such. The functioning of the lights and clock were also checked. We provide a full range of replacement bulbs and batteries in case of such events.
In previous comments to me you indicated that the first impression of the place was lovely and clean, you enjoyed the rest of your holiday and the setting is fabulous. In the circumstances I am just so very sorry that the lodge did not live up to your highest expectations.

We have stayed at Sandlings on many occasions. The lodge is extremely comfortable, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well equipped with all the equipment and utensils you could require. There's lots of hot water with a powerful shower and the heating is very effective on chilly nights. On clear mornings you have a wonderful view of the sunrise over the sea from the beach facing verandah. The site is very well maintained and quiet.
We visit with our dog and the location is perfect for dog owners. The beach is literally a stones throw away and dogs are allowed to walk there. We always take a walk along the coast to Thorpeness. There is a very pleasant pub there called The Dolphin.
The owner is extremely helpful and always quick to respond to any queries. I highly recommend this property and will definitely visit again soon.

Lovely holiday home in fabulous tranquil location overlooking dunes and beach, great for visiting local area .
Fitted out beautifully with thought gone into every requirement for holiday. Bar and pizza place on site and easy walks to cafes, pubs and nearby towns. We visited in the heatwave and found the sea breeze a godsend!
We went to the Dolphin in Thorpeness twice - great atmosphere and summer BBQ.

An ideal base for a relaxed few days away; close enough to Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings and Sutton Hoo for short trips out and perfect for beach walks at this unspoilt coast.

The lodge is 50 metres from the beach and the Suffolk Coastal Path on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The holiday park nestles between Thorpeness and the RSPB's Reserve at Minsmere, where you can enjoy stunning views and see some of our rarest wildlife. The Suffolk Heritage Coast is renowned for its beautiful countryside and coastal towns and villages, steeped in history. The Sandlings Walk passes close to the Beach View Holiday Park and runs for 58 miles from Southwold to the outskirts of Ipswich!
Use of a car, whilst not essential for enjoyment of your holiday, is strongly recommended if you want to take full advantage of all that this part of the Suffolk Heritage Coast has to offer. But if you just want to escape and unwind in real luxury, find a quiet and peaceful location in which to put your feet up or get out and enjoy the fresh air on coastal walks to Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Minsmere or Dunwich then Sandlings is for you.
The town of Leiston, with all its facilities and amenities, is approx. 2 miles away by car. Thorpeness is 3 miles, Aldeburgh 4 miles, Snape 5 miles, Minsmere 4 miles, Dunwich 7 miles and Southwold 14 miles. Further afield, Ipswich is 25 miles, Lowestoft 24 miles, Great Yarmouth 34 miles, Norwich 38 miles and London 105 miles. All by car.
The Beach View Holiday Park has an onsite Clubhouse Bar and Family Games Room (March to September). Sea fishing from the beach is popular. The town of Leiston is less than 2 miles away with all the usual facilities and amenities including pubs, cafes, cash machines, a wide range of takeaways, a cinema showing the latest releases, a supermarket and local museum. You will find a wide range of seasonal events and activities in the other neighbouring towns and villages of Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Snape, Dunwich and Southwold. The major resorts of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth are within easy travelling distance. Further details of these as well as the local attractions and events can be found in the maps, leaflets and brochures at the lodge or in the Clubhouse Bar. The owners are happy to provide any additional information or details on request.
Booking Notes: Please check availability and full booking conditions with us prior to booking. A deposit of £50 of the cost of your holiday will be required together with a signed booking form. The balance will be due and payable within 6 weeks of the start of your holiday. Rental rates are all inclusive of electricity, heating and water together with FREE WIFI and Internet access. Small additional charges are payable in respect of each dog (£5 per night). Bank transfer or cheque are our preferred methods of payment.
